Waimate to Omarama, Makorora and return

My first solo foray west. Omarama. Once there after an uneventful flight, several tug and glider pilots recommended going further west, even to Haast perhaps via Makorora. After deliberation and knowing the weather forecast was good - due to get better, I decided to go to Makorora.
The video shows my journey to Omarama and some short clips over the lakes Hawea, Wanaka, Benmore, aviemore and Waitaki.

Sorry for the tardy reply. Yes, out of WM. Thanks for the invite. Do you have coordinates for your strip? I looked at the area you describe on google maps but the strip itself was unclear.

do you fly out of the Waimate strip? we planning to get down that way soon. If you interested you welcome to visit at our strip in fairlie ( check google earth / hamilton rd at intersection with strathallen rd) south of pine plantation. no stock on strip at any time.
