I'm 38 and I'm the same way. People are realizing they aren't for everyone, but I still feel like people value parents time off vs childfree people in the workplace
I can’t believe there was any moment in time where people felt like everyone HAD to have children. Like some people genuinely just know that they would not be good parents because they have other priorities or just don’t want that responsibility. It’s also just scary straight up. I don’t even know if I ever will just because of how scary and messed up life is becoming for the younger generation.

We LOVE your long podcasts!!! You say 2 hours is the sweet spot, but me personally, I watch it in doses. I'll put it on while I'm working, then pause it for later. I'll resume it when I'm making dinner, pause it for later. Then maybe I'll watch 30 mins in bed as I'm winding down. PLEASE keep the 3+ hour podcasts!!! They're a hit!!

I feel so sad for those poor kids of parents who say they regret having kids, how heartbroken would the kids be to hear that. Some people do have those thoughts, which might be okay to be honest about in private conversations away from your children, but not online. I think those parents are taking the gift of life for granted. Its not the childrens fault and they shouldn't have to hear that. Having kids is hard, it really is, but i wouldn't trade it for anything. Its the problem with social media, people air out their dirty laundry. Not everything is appropriate to share online, but people dont have any awareness of it anymore.
My mom used to tell me that a lot when I was younger and it's soul crushing , no one should ever tell their child that!

Im fully remote and I dont plan on working in office ever again. I think it really depends on your personality type though. There are lots of people who fall apart when they dont have the routine of getting ready and going to the office and the whole ritual of a typical work day. What I will say is that the idea that productivity goes down when you're remote is a myth. Actually, your productivity is more closely monitored if youre working out of office because they need to be able to justify allowing it (assuming you're working for a company and not self employed).
Same I will never again go to the office, not for me!
In the tech world it definitely is a lot easier to get a WFH job tho so it also depends on your industry unfortunately
@@magicfisher mmm Banking and healthcare are pretty popular legitimate remote jobs. I would stay away from sales for sure. Maybe something in analytics or project management would be a good route for someone with a business background.

I work at whole foods in the produce section. Make a list, go to the basement and make a cart, go upstairs and put it out, and repeat. I actually love my job because i was a cashier before this, and before that a bartender, and before that a barista, so it's nice to not have to put on a social performance for people now. Which is why i could never be an influencer lol
as a dr yes I work 6 days a week 10-16h a day it sucks but your vids are my fun relax time

I know how you feel except mine are still around, we were just never really family oriented and my parents never tried to be a family with my siblings or relatives. Everyone is just to themselves and it’s depressing as hell. You’re not alone just know that!!

I hated working from home. I struggled to get out of bed a lot. Having no real reason to get dressed, put makeup on and leave the house - and having 0 human interaction most days was terrible for my mental health. I'm commuting into the office now and it's WAY better for my mental health. I love the structure - I thrive off it. I may be in the minority here, but - it works for me. Just my .02. :)

I hated it when I was still living at home and in school, because long were the days of coming home after class to an empty and quiet home where I was free to do whatever I want. Definitely pros and cons!

I personally love working from home and truly couldn’t see myself going back into an office in person ever. I save on gas, time, don’t eat out as much,etc. It’s also done wonders for my mental health being in the comfort of my own home
I am a math teacher. I was an engineer who went into an office/lab every day, even through covid. I love teaching. I hope you let your kids go to public school. Their teachers will love them!

I don’t think she traded it in for a size difference. She basically said her pink vehicle was too expensive and it didn’t make sense spending that much money on a vehicle when she was going to be spending money on a second kid. I think she also said she was getting paranoid about people recognizing her vehicle since it stood out so much but she’s not going to air all that out to a drive thru worker 😂

We are definitely on the fence about having kids, not because we aren’t sure if we want them, but it’s more of- how do you know the right way to parent someone?
