I have always loved this story. DNA…for better (in this case!) ….or worse, is no joke. As a lifelong devotee of David Crosby, the first time I heard this first CPR album, and this song, I couldn’t stop playing it. James is not just “some piano player.” His chords, voice, and songwriting are pure Crosby with a twist. RIP David. I sometimes found you to be an opinionated, pompous pain in the ass when I I’d have to sit through your predictably long rant about The Military Industrial Complex at concerts, but once you start singing, I’m in Heaven. No musician has ever moved me like David…except for, maybe, Joni Mitchell. And guess who “discovered” Joni Mitchell. Thank you David…and James. Uncanny.

I felt this comment deep in my soul. And could find agreement and honesty in it. ❤ I do love thar these two found each other and had such a prolific time of unison...the check did not come back void. The son makes such beautiful music and Songs For Free is as much a favorite as anything Crosby did sooner. That soothing crooner could sell ice to an Eskimo...so beautiful the two were in CPR.
