the main issue is, so many stars have storylines with superstars that are already on certain brands.
The main issue is the draft format itself. They should've just done sd vs raw matches with winning brand getting a random pick. This solves multiple issues that the nba/nfl draft approach creates

@@JesusOrDestruction I 100% agree, their are a lot of firsts in WWE right now with Triple H. This year will mark the first fresh starts from RAW after Mania to WM41 where we see Triple H be in the driver seat 1000%. It's gonna take time as Triple H learns to balance crowd pleasing and making a good show. It was the same when Vince took full control in the early 90's. By The Attitude Era Vince was at the top of his game and went on a run for over a decade where he was unstoppable. Triple H is already got that leg up cus he could book NXT so I doubt it will take 4-6 years like it took Vince.
The drafts in the 2000's and early 2010's were so much better.

Okay so, I believe the reason they're doing this is to fully solidify "who's here and what" because before it was wonky on who was on which roster. So now this is just "they are on here and now, no need to be confused, let's continue"
Most people stayed where they were. Pretty cool that Carmelo Hayes got an opportunity against Cody, he’s definitely gonna be a top star on SD. Kiana James got called up to RAW, WWE clearly see something in her and can’t wait to see what she does

@@Frostyz-LF there is difference Indi Hartwell basically have no interesting character or personality in main roster even in NXT she looks bland while Kiana James had that heel character work and personality to connect with people. The point they are pushing candice lerae character who is around 40s more than indi says a lot since she is doing character work

They should have done the draft on the first RAW and SmackDown after Backlash, that way, theoretically at least, the stories could be wrapped up at the PPV and new stories could start the next week and not be affected by the wrestlers being drafted to different brands

Main-eventing every other episode of SD, for starters. Not to mention, teamed up with the other biggest babyfaces in WWE to defeat the top female heel faction in the company at Survivor Series, then did it again at WM. Also, is about to defeat said faction yet again for the tag titles at Backlash.
Plus, is still more over and relevant than the current SD women's champion and even the former one(also from previous mentioned faction)despite NOT holding a title 90% of the time in the past year.

I'm well aware of how over she is to the point of becoming a great ambassador for the company.
I'm acknowledging the fact that she hasn't done anything of real note in a while. Beating up Damage CTRL for the 50,000th time doesn't count, especially when that feud was less about Dakota, Asuka and Kairi and more about the new Power Puff Girl faction (not an insult just a parallel I drew in my head) with Jade and Naomi.
That's like using Cena and Orton dismantling the Nexus every week as a legitimate stat.

I liked the sports presentation. GMs don’t come out of the war room to announce picks nor should they. And smart not moving people around for the sake of just moving them. Draft isn’t over so who knows what could happen
I think they played it safe with the superstars who have open feuds with the champs on either brands and LA knight being retained at Smackdown is for him to face Logan because for the World Title there a long queue of superstars waiting in line after Jey. They should have announced that people with existing feuds with champs will be retained in their brands.
I feel like if Solo and Tama don't win against KO and Randy would be just pointless to the "New Bloodline" thing

But the main question is since both sami and jey uso are in raw then who could be 3rd guy for randy and Owens team because they will continue to feud longer and it would be 3 vs 3 at clash at the castle. The only option I can think is la knight since Cody will be having title match there and won't be involving against bloodline till SummerSlam. Sami, jey and seth being drafted to raw brings more bigger questions. How does the war games match goes from here now. Since people were guessing it would be new bloodline rock solo Tama and Jacob vs og bloodline roman usos and maybe sami or seth and neither of them is possible now since they are in raw and I don't think randy Owens and la knight will be dragged for roman storyline at all they are just filler going on.
So WWE really needs to break draft rules again if they wanted war games between roman team and rock team and most importantly roman reuniting with both usos.
Another thing that is not vibing with me is the small entrance they are using every week now. Once in a while for a big show is fine and all, but every week its coming off like minor leagues like TNA ect.

Someone said this on reddit & I agree, instead of Draft... it should be Deadline Day. Instead of picking a whole roster, make it an event for stars chosen on the final day. When a full roster switches up, when required could then be a big event in itself. It makes sense why there's no big changes. The shows are doing fine as they are.

If it’s not the draft they’re waiting for then I hope who did get drafted is in some kind of new strong story to come if not this was lackluster

I liked earlier draft where we use to see match between different brand superstar and then tgere used to be a spin the wheel and the superstar who used to come would be drafted to the brand who won the match.

I'm happy that Styles is still on SM and Sheamus on Raw but overall I thought it sucked with most of the picks remaining on the same show. I don't like how they've been doing the draft the last past few years. They should either go back to how it was from 07-11 or do what they've been doing but have to when it's SM's night they can only pick people from either Raw or nxt and when it's Raw's night they can pick people from either sm or nxt

They should do the draft after backlash which is like a good almost 5 week break between ppvs, because all the next challengers for titles stay in the same place and it's predictable.
i miss how the first wwe draft was formatted in 2002 no one knew which brand they were heading to left for more genuine reactions and suspense i was kinda hoping for that vibe

When you think about it Aj hasn't really shown much heelish actions, a lot of actions has been mostly reactionary. LA Knight was probably the one that was a little bit more aggressive in their feud. I'd assume after this PLE Backlash match with Cody, he'd cement his status amongst the roster since there is no way Cody losing on his title 1st defense.

They should go back to the draft roulette or the 2008 to 2011 version were matches dictate who gets a draft pick. This draft felt very unnecessary and redundant. Monday I hope will be alot better, but friday wasn't that great.
In NWA Dusty Rhodes and AJ styles fought multiple times
The way I see it, it's like they trying to make Raw greater than smackdown trust me I have always been a smackdown fan since 2005 but now raw is more exciting then its ever been or is it just me, I wouldn't be surprised if the real drafting happens 2morrow on raw
The GMs not picking the superstars was a big let down
I definitely agree, fans really overreacted with Liv losing the battle royal, sure would her winning help get her heat yeah but at the same time in the same vein you want Liv to look stronger in winning the gold right? Having Liv beat Becky 1 2 3 is how you're going to do it. Plus the promos the next month is going into Backlash is going to be better for both Liv and Becky. Liv can go on to talk more on the crowd booing her and disrespecting her saying it amazes her how quick everyone turned on her despite the fact she felt in her eyes she did everyone a favor by injuring Rhea as well as accomplished something big in the revenge tour. Becky can also come out calling Liv a coward for taking the cheap way out in getting the title off Rhea stating what she did was not the right way beating Rhea till she was injured. Plus what TheGreatOne said before about the story of Liv being unable to beat Becky. Liv and Becky can continue to go back and fourth with Becky mentioning how Liv never beat Rhea stating that was the reason Liv did what she did is because Liv knew she had no shot against Rhea and how her plan backfired and she's now champion again. After telling Liv that Becky mentions how Rhea isn't the only one she never beat in a championship match referencing herself. After that you can have Liv get massive heat destroying one of the Raw talent who isn't as big like Natalya for example Liv gets herself disqualified unleashing a brutal assault on Natalya smiling afterwards screaming "CRY ABOUT IT, IT'S THE LIV MORGAN REVENGE TOUR" laughing as she exits.

I recommend watching Eric Bischoff with Bubba Dudley talking about Becky situation. It shows even more that wrestling marks often just don't know fecking shiz. Just imagine Liv getting the belt just because Rhea got injured. Such a underwhelming title reign from day 1 (again...).
They also talked about Cody being natural heel (with some help of Paul Heyman) but that's more of a wishful thinking

I really wish they had the Draft format like from 02-03 that was an iconic era the fact RAW getting a lot of wrestlers when their roster is already stacked. This draft feels like the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 draft. The Legado and LWO feud is so 🔥 honestly Karrion character feels stale and boring.

I don’t know who in the war rooms thought it was a good idea having Nia Jax and Liv Morgan being picked over La knight and AJ styles in the 2nd round? But Bianca belair picked over Jey uso and Seth Rollins made absolutely no sense, even though I am a fan of hers but her recent push doesn’t technically make her the bigger babyface than them. Not even Jade cargil got picked in the 1st round along with Bianca since their going after for the women’s tag team titles.

Bianca is far more credible than Jey Uso, hope that helps. No offense to Jey, but Bianca is the face of the women's division along with Rhea. Jey isn't even top 3 in the men's division right now and has no singles accomplishments to his name atm.
Seth is understandable, he's gonna be out for a while plus Jey is the current #1 contender for the WHC. I'd pick Jey over him too.

Nobody gave a shit about Iyo Sky when she was champion. Bianca and Charlotte were the focus of every women's segment on Smackdown despite not being in the title picture, and the live audience supports that. Hell, she was second fiddle to fucking Bayley, lol, who wasn't champ, and had been treated like a jobber ever since DG CTRL reformed. Asuka was probably more relevant too, given how many title matches she was in last year.
The biggest crowd reactions in the women's division came from four women. Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, or Charlotte Flair. If you weren't those four, the live audience could care less about you. It's essentially the same now, just add Bayley back in.
She's in cricket wireless and slim Jim commercials promoting WWE, was the second highest selling merch mover in the women's division last year, undoubtedly was it's biggest Babyface, and has her own reality show now. Oh, and is about to win the tag titles too, from DG CTRL.
Her going as the #1 pick makes perfect sense, especially with Rhea and Becky out, unless you like men more.
And I find it very ironic you want to call Bianca's gimmick stale when you have a New Day pfp. They haven't been relevant in 4 years.

I think first the draft happend to late. The draft should happen one week after wrestlemania. So not the raw after but the next weeks raw. Then they should do it on a wedensday or something and have it all about the draft. No in between matches, just the draft. Maybe make it professional like and have the interviews and things of that sort like they did to hype up mania and the elimination chamber. Heat can be naturally started there.

Why A draft when A E W wrestling is not doing that.
The current concept needs to be restructured. I would be in favor of a one-month trade season, including a deadline day, where Raw and Smackdown can trade wrestlers similarly to the NBA including 1st and 2nd round draft picks.
Then, there would be an NXT draft where both brands can draft NXT wrestlers.
I think it was fine, they have a plan and if they change too much they broke their plans

Every year they Draft random people from NXT to the main roster before actual potential stars, Waller and Indi Hartwell were drafted before Bronn Breaker, and I know they wanted to have him more experienced to push him from the get go but on retrospective sounds ridiculous
I don't think Waller was some random people he was huge asset to NXT in terms of character works so WWE took him to main roster and developing him with theory now he gonna be upper mid card sooner
I guess, he is still very green in my opinion and now with theory as his partner it looks ridiculous that Theory is the one that loses for the team
@@leonel87658 I am sure WWE is planning for him to have that miz type of heel for next generation and he is going to be multi time champion in mid card division once WWE decides both theory and Waller are ready for solo push. Since theory is more kinda like of young randy Orton and even though his career went no where in main roster at beginning but he achieved many things like being mitb winner, beating cena at mania, United States champion etc. And his career 2nd run going to be main event/top guy level since he had improved his character a lot, getting good reaction from audience, getting improved in mic skills as well in ring skills
