Got so tired of buying 5$ tub o worms. Ur a true friend now that u have taught me as valuable lesson to catch my own bait. My dad would be proud of me if I could talk to him
Just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. My 4 year old son and I go out hiking with our worw getter and check the type of spots you taught him to look for. He is so excited every time he picks a good spot. Then we leave some banana peels and vegetable shaving for the worms and move on.
Duke, you proved the old adage, "the early bird gets the worms!" Your worms are big and plump!!! They'll catch the biggest bass in the lake! Thanks for the great show my friend!
+Juanelo1946 Hey Juanelo! That IS when the birds like to get worms! Watch these next two videos and you will see something never seen before! See you Sunday and have a great weekend!
+Juanelo1946 Pretty cool you put the "early bird" and "worm" together! I always thought it was about the bird, but really it is more about the worm! thanks Juanelo!!!
+TheEmptynester Thats what we do to E, except we keep em in washtubs and collect the castings too! I will show you in the next worm video and you will like it I am sure!
We're going to use ours to get some worms this week. We have a 3 day fishing trip scheduled for next weekend. Thanks for the tips. I'll go out before work to see what's crawling around.
Thanks for sharing this! Brings back wonderful memories from when I was a child and helped my cousin go worm hunting for him to use for fishing. We didn't have what you have, we would just go along where damp areas were and he would lift up rocks or a piece of wood and i would get them. He would always lay the rocks or wood back gently to it resting area.
leaf and grass litter is what they feed on...there should be moisture and lower temps...you can bring them up in a lawn too...just depends on the soil...there should be signs, like worms getting under things setting on the ground and worm castings
The worms seem to be growing already...Next time I get my grass cut I am going to give mine a shot in the morning...I have some great spots in my yard that I pick them at nite...I shinned a flash lite on the places the other nite and there were crawlers all over so hopefully I can get a few to come out of the ground using the gitter...
That explains why worms come to the surface when I'm using the log splitter... I turn it off and go stack the wood and when I come back there's a flock of birds there.
Have an idea-invention i thought up about beekeeping and was thinking on getting a patton, figured you had patton on worm gitter and could tell me what i need to do.
we used a lot of different materials in research and the hardwood with this particular notch design worked better than any...but yeah, you can rattle worms up with anything that makes vibration
LOL Fantastic! I have my Worm Gitter right here, and my son and I are waiting for this constant rain to stop, so we can collect a mess of them to start a worm bin. Everything is ready, and when I can walk in the yard, I will have lots of them. I have a lot of wooded area with lots of leaves and a few downed trees, that look very good for finding worms. Great tips on where to look. I may have to reconsider my bin for them though. Bless, Sheila PS Hope to get a video of it too.
+Sheila6325 Hi Sheilah and blessings to you sister! Are you keeping them for the castings? I will show you how we keep worms in the summer in our next worm video. Hope you have fun and catch a mess a worms!
WORM GITTER Yes indeed, for worm castings. It gets pretty hot here in the summer, and I need to make sure I get it right. So I will be watching out for your video on that for sure. Although it rained again, the sun did come out, and we hope to go "worming" today! (actually tomorrow)All is well here, and Blessings to you and your family, Sheila
well it's worth a try....i've never got enough fishing worms.i'm going to make me a wooden worm bed in a few days before it gets hot weather.i love to fish.
Thank you so much I found it very interesting also you can use a bucket of water with dish soap in it a 5 gallon bucket Are you Gotta do is put on the area that you wanna find the worms and I’ll do the rest on its own
This is a good method for fishing but I got the worm gitter to catch worms to feed my pets. The method sounds way easier then the gitter worked for me 😭
Well we are going to be ordering a Worm Gitter soon. I use worms for garden and compost, and the kids are actually hoping to find small snakes to feed to their Malay chickens (they get around 3' tall and love to eat snakes). If you don't mind, I will also make a video of our results for my Farm and Adventure Channel.
I think we will try berms and swales, ditches and woods. Plus next to the barn where the chickens can't get, Lord knows they've eaten them everywhere else Lol! Yes, that's me and the kiddos. Doin the best we can. Hope I'm not embarrassing myself to much😄

Thanks Tom
Hi, Duke. Happy hunting there. We have some good size ones in the mulch pile this year. I move them to the garden with the mulch.

How long will the worm getter last
it will last from now on if you keep it out of the weather
R those red wigglers?

Hey Duke! Another outstanding worm video! Thank you for for sharing! Be careful of all that poison ivy towards the end of video!
+Dan Kelsey you know I am fortunate, never had poison ivy. Thanks for the heads up because I could become allergic.
Bad immune system if it doesn't react when the poison ivy and oaks urishol gets on your skin...
just bought mine...can't wait to try it down here in florida
Hope you do real good...Thanks
Can this be done in an area where there is no leaf or grass clutter?
leaf and grass litter is what they feed on...there should be moisture and lower temps...you can bring them up in a lawn too...just depends on the soil...there should be signs, like worms getting under things setting on the ground and worm castings
Where do you get your fiddle stick, or do you make it?
Thank you for your purchase David! We shipped today
Does this technic work in gardens?

+Madison C Iowa yea, any wood laying on the ground too!

LA
This is a GREAT technique to know! Would a steel Y bar work even better? You say REbar. Say half inch or 3/4.
we used a lot of different materials in research and the hardwood with this particular notch design worked better than any...but yeah, you can rattle worms up with anything that makes vibration
@@WORMGITTER Is there a name for this hardwood tool? I am not native speaker, so I don't know what this is called.

+R HEIDEMAN Love to rattle those lil jokers! Good luck!
camera man grabbed the poison ivy by the barn !
we're not allergic but thanks for letting us know!
If your not allergic to the urishol in the poison ivy & oak means you have a shitty (not very good) immune system in that person...
Nice job !!!
Just ordered my worm gitter rig! Watch out wigglers!
;-) Thank You An!
Got it! I think I'll take the kids around and try out different places to find worms. Video coming soon!
Thanks man it really helps out

That would be fine An. If the soil is sandy you might have trouble finding worms in your area. I thought that might be your channel!
