    David that turned out incredible. I’m building a sauna bathroom and I want this look so I’m going to attempt your plan. Thank you.
    I was in Tanzania, Africa and the way they used chicken wire wire and concrete showed me many things can be done with some thought. This was beautiful.

    • @DavidVossberg
      @DavidVossberg  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much! I wish you good luck with your sauna project and hope it turns out great! Chicken wire sounds like it could be very useful to mold shapes. Wish I thought of it :)

    When you started with the epoxy... lol.. I wondered if you just like adding work. But it gave the inside a beautiful finish while leaving the outside rough. I will certainly remember this technique. Thanks. Also, I really like the way you put together the backsplash. Simple, with a touch of class. Kelly from ontario

    Great job. The sink has perfect dimensions for the space. Looks like a Belfast Sink (uk name) but this looks way better. The colour match is perfect too. Nice job notching out the drawers to maximise space too. Liked + Suscribed!

    Great job man. When you were thinking about using the straw to caulk around the sink form...at that point I would have thrown everything away and given up completely lol. Glad you pushed through it. Looks awesome!

    • @civicfire99
      @civicfire99 Рік тому

      @@DavidVossberg Though I'm wondering what kind of edge you would get without caulk. I assume it would just a be a bit of bleedout that you could polish, but perhaps you'd end up with exposed aggregate after polishing. I'm not sure. I've envisioned some forms that are just too tight to be able to caulk all the interior edges, but I haven't completed a pour with these forms yet.

    • @DavidVossberg
      @DavidVossberg  Рік тому

      @@civicfire99 you could probably do that and then wet sand it. I made some concrete planters (I still need to make the video) and I dry and wet sanded the edges. They came out pretty good.

    • @DavidVossberg
      @DavidVossberg  2 роки тому

      With that brand of concrete no rebar is necessary which was great for me. I definitely learned a number of things the hard way and having a release agent would have been glorious lol. Thanks for watching!!

  • @boots7859
    @boots7859 Рік тому +1

    Need to build a similar one for a dog bath, so your vid was educational. Only change I'd make is finding a some sort of plastic container for bowl shape. Fill box 1/2 way with concrete, add 'bowl' with weight in it, then fill rest up to top.
    Might need a release agent or wax. For a utility sink though, I think normal procedure is to just make a large and small box out of plywood, little sanding and some silicone or hot-glue on the seams.

      @@DavidVossberg just saying because i have one. I can take off super dirty shoes outside in the shed and no need for special plumbing. Just have it drain straight into the garden. Water could just be a hose attachment and when not in use just disconnect it.

    great design. Is there no problem with keeping the sink clean? The surface was not secured with anything, right? Thanks and greetings.

      Thank you. We haven't had a problem with keeping it clean so far. It is in the powder room though so it gets infrequent usage. I didn't secure it with anything because the weight of it keeps it in place. Hope this helps!

      @@DavidVossberg well actually I already have a concrete sink in my bathroom, the one I made. I was in deed watching your video to make concrete planters. I was planning to use them for water plants, so we're kinda in the same page :D regards from Argentina.

    Cool. I'm going to attempt a farm sink for my wife. I've made concrete counters and she likes the look so now she wants a farm sink to match, wish me luck. One thing, I used WD-40 as a release agent on my counter forms and it worked great, did you use anything as a release agent? I thought it might make it easier to get the form out.

    Will you have to seal the inside of the sink each year to keep it waterproof? Great job btw! You might want to put silicone caulk under it so it won't move. just an idea.

    • @DavidVossberg
      @DavidVossberg  2 роки тому

      I’m not sure about sealing it every year. It’s in our powder room which isn’t used that often so I doubt it. Thanks for the silicone idea and thanks for watching and the kind words.

      @@DavidVossberg oh yeah, you wouldn't need to seal it every year since powder rooms are not used everyday. You are welcome.

    You missed the part where you gotta enlist your 8 year olds daughter to squeeze her tiny arms in to scrape the excess caulking down at the bottom nod the form after it’s cured.
    Ask me how I know 🤣🤣
    Sink looks great! I’ll be using a foam form the tile round. Last two farmhouse sinks I did I used wood and fiberglass epoxy with mixed results. I like your foam form much better.

    Do you have to glue the sink to the table top or is the weight enough to keep it from moving ? It looked like you could move it pretty easily.

    • @DavidVossberg
      @DavidVossberg  3 роки тому

      I didn't have to because it was heavy enough to not move. Also this is in our powder room so it gets minimal usage. You could easily apply some silicone under it to keep it from moving if needed. Thanks!
