One of my favorite coins. I always call them/type them as Buffalos so as not to confuse them with the older Indian Head Nickels that I have some of them. Great video, Justin. :-)
Thank you for your info. Someone just quoted .50cents for a 1936 nickel. I will check mine & let you know which I have. I have old eyes yet I can still make out the date. Don't know if it's a D or not. It is locked in a belt buckle. Bk

Hello Justin, I refer to those as buffalo nickels so there's no confusion if I'm talking to someone about an Indian head penny.
Question...I have maybe 12 or 15 buffalos that are very worn and you can't even see a date on most of them. I know about that nice a date junk but haven't ever used it because I know it damages the coin further. So... when you have buffalos that are that worn down do they have any value at all or should I just spend them as the 5 cents they are?
I've got a few buffalo buckles. I've got a collection of wooden buckles as well all from the sixties. I know it's not numismatics but I thought o would share. There pretry cool.
I understand that the buffalo side if it is standing on a mound (a little hill) it is worth more, it's more rare!
I have a bag full of these 1936 buffalo nickels and a lot of them don't have a mint mark on them at all underneath the bull where it says five cents. There's nothing there on a bunch of them. I am looking to sell this bag of Buffalo nickels that the grandparents saved. I'll look for the three legs and other weird things you talked about. Thanks 👍

I have 8 of these 1936 F buffalo nickels that don't have a mint mark on the back. They have all 4 legs. Definitely double stamped.

How does a Denver (D) mint mark get stuck over a San Francisco (S) mint mark? Or vice versa? Did a die show up at the wrong mint?

I have a buffalo nickel missing the stamped mint mark... ( no it didn't get faded out) i can clearly see the "five cents" stamp.. but there is no mint mark! Would like to find out whats up with this coin

I have a 1936 Buffalo nickel in almost uncirculated condition-with only 1 minor scratch you can see under magnification. Very fine detailed. Don't know what it's worth, but I have never heard it called a Indian head nickel. Don't know where to sell.the Buffalo I have.. Any suggestions.

Because they are common to have in circulated condition. If it has a mint error or a very top grade then it can be valuable

They will have no mint mark, or a D or S mint mark

I have a 1937 Indian head the front is in amazing shape including the feathers the date on it is very visible and the Buffalo and the reverse as an excellent shape the only problem is on the front where it says Liberty the r t y in Liberty is faded you could barely see it just would like to know your thoughts

1928, I can't find anything on them i did eventually find out where mine was made,in Phili,i dont have a mint mark on mine i thought it was rare but i dont know i know its in excellent shape,it was my grandfathers he gave it to me when i was 6yrs.old,and he always said that its my lucky nickel,so never loose it,i am 62yrs.old and it means more to me than moneys,it will be passed to my grand daughter Sophia Rangel someday❤🙏👍

Why is it that I've found several pennies(1940's - 1970's), nickels(1940, 1947, 1952, 1969's, 1970's and a 1995), dime(1987) and a quarter(1950) with the "S" mint mark. Since I started searching and collecting. Thought they were hard to come by.
