    You know what nobody ever talks about? Kossoff's fantastic rhythm style and bad-ass riffs. I guess his tone and vibrato overshadow that shit.

      Totally agree , Kossoff was an absolute beast of a rhythm player and was so deep in the pocket it's silly .

      I agree about the rhythm stuff. Some of his chord voicings are really interesting and the progressions are great.

    Kossoff is such an underrated guitarist in my opinion but "All Right Now" is such an awesome song

      Whenever I go into those top 50 guitarists of all time lists I can't believe he isn't on the list, or if he is he's n the 40's. His sound is unique and instantly recognisable. A true guitar virtuoso.

    Kossoff, Rhoads, Hendrix and Kath are four greats that we have precious little works to enjoy, but they're absolutely incredible.

      Absolutely correct. I think Malcolm was influenced a lot by Free too more from a riff and feel perspective. There’s a bit of Zep there as well - the riff from Back In Black being obvious. I’ve always thought the lighter side of AC/DC wasn’t a million miles away from Free and I’m surprised how little people pick up on that.

    the iconic black strat with maple fretboard of Dave Murray from Iron Maiden (used during the 80's) was originally owned by Kossoff who sold it to Dave before he died.

    • @j1shot2
      @j1shot2 5 років тому +1

      I think he'd promised it to Dave Murray but passed before the transaction could be made. I might be wrong but I think Dave Murray went to see Paul's father David who agreed to let the guitar go to Murray who then had to go to Paul's then girlfriend's flat to pick up the guitar. I'm pretty sure it's he white Strat from the cover of Backstreet Crawler that Dave Murray painted black

    I call that The Stingy Vibrato, it was done tastefully by blues masters since the dawn of electric guitar. But beware, if done incorrectly it can sound like Hammet's so be careful fellow guitarists

    Along with his vibrato, his use of full sounding chords and rhythm playing. The opening A chord He uses all 4 fingers. I can't name the true chord, but I can play it, lol. He was ahead of his time for sure.

    Honestly love these videos! Always god to learn from the legends. Maybe try expanding it past the blues greats? Some Johnny Marr arpeggios or Josh Homme riffs? That might help get some of the younger cats tuning in

    Good try,but at the end of the day sounds nothing like him.No lead up to the essential note to vibrato with emotion.wrong tone,wrong attitude.Anybody can fly round the fingerboard big deal.but the heart and soul of a true musician comes through in the nuances.. and you can instantly feel it.

      很多人都只做到推弦而沒有顫音!或是顫音太短!不然就是顫音的不平均不夠合諧!像paul kossoff彈得這麼好又出味的幾乎目前我沒見過就是了!
