Leah is such a good hearted person. Someone unfortunately was hit by a piece of the engine in the stands. As she was riding back by she understood what happened and got out and made sure he was okay. Awesome job Leah. Hope you both are okay❤️
Brought back memories of Big Daddy moving the motor to the rear after a kaboom just like this one. Thank goodness for today's safety equipment and the safety staff at every event .
This is literally like the epitome of drag racing, by that I mean highest of highs lowest of lows, yet at the end of the day, best sport, fans, friendships and camaraderie on the planet..! Just a tough way to see TSR have both their cars blow up but I guess that makes this comment cyclical:-) I got a really good program and did astonishingly well for the first year out especially the dragster, I mean that was everything from scratch. Can't wait till 2023!!
Amen to that!! It REALLY was!! All the new teams the competition being really good again, I just hope they don't jack with the cars rev limiters and slow them down, we don't need that Goodyear doesn't need that, this is an early 2000s tires this is good stuff, and after Leah had her car break and have that extra support, these cars are fine to go the speeds are going, easily
Crazy. At 8 tenths of a second, at the 60 foot. They are doing almost 100 miles an hour. Think about how ridiculous it sounds, but is just another crazy top fuel statistic.
Hate it for Leah and TSR to have that massive explosion but I'm so thankful to GOD and for car builders and safety personnel 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Really thankful that Leah is okay 💞🤗💞🙏🙏
Both cars had Blower explosions. I'm so glad this happened in rear engined cars. There's no way this would be safe in an old front engined car. Don Garlits lost his foot in a clutch explosion, and went to the rear engined car. It's so much safer, especially when you're driving a loaded time-bomb that is a modern top fuel car.
Apparently my heart wasn't the only one that stopped when she sits in her top fuel car and "winks "at the camera 🙂I hope her 🙏 and Tony can keep it together forever 😀
She got the win and I can tell you for a fact that she knew that motor was going to go, when you pedal that many times with that good of air and that much fuel especially, and leg it down--- yeah they are just waiting for it but they don't get paid to lift off the gas so to speak :-)
Unfortunately, many have not survived over the years but the safety precautions in the NHRA are top notch. Most are in place because of the ones who didn't survive.
thats part of the game. Everybody knows its not without dangers. That is the very nature of motorsport. But topfuel dragracing is a very safe sport. Nobody has died since kalitta in 2008, so the dangers are not that big. Its not like the 70's where one or more people were killede every year.
@@robertr7923 the danger hasn't gotten much if any less, just the safety tech and requirements are that much higher. enclosed capsules, better strength materials, automatic chute deployment on failure, etc. you can see that last one in action on leah's car; the chute was already deploying before the fireball had dissipated.
A better explanation? She started smoking the tires. That unloaded the engine and it started dropping cylinders. That caused fuel to accumulate in the cylinders and liquid doesn't compress so something has to give. Intake valve probably hung open and charge finely lights off and BOOM

Really shows how the safety standards and technical improvements over the years have made the racing exciting yet safe.

sure do miss the old 1/4 mile days
Someone in the crowd got hit by shrapnel and she came and checked on him, class act
Glad Leah got the win, and hope she has a better season in 2023.
Just a great Top Fuel season overall.
Congrats to Brittany Force on Championship #2…

It always blows my mind how the top fuel cars can smoke the tires right at the hit and STILL finish at over 120 miles per hour. Incredible!!!

You’re right…….she sure is fine.
Just amazing watching how everything is deflecting,, even the 44s are moving around. Awesome

thank God she is ok...Such a Awesome person
10,000 horses suddenly getting out using a shortcut is quite a picture of destruction!
"Look, we made the Blower disappear" Thats an expansive Magictrick
"That's a lot of damage!"
Wowser Leah! I could feel that myself; great driving to the finish line 🙂
Mr. Announcer, you're frigging amazing.
Luv Mr Announcer !!
Looks like the motor hydrolocked.
The butterflys were wide open,
Fuel pouring out the exhaust.
KABLOOOOOOEY!💥
Dropped cylinders. # 10 in a #5 bag
"Look, we made the blower disappear!" LOL idk why that made me laugh so hard.

Glad she's okay the race god's are with her. to bad Tony's a scum bag
I ❤NITRO ALLEY😀

At around 2:37 it looks like there’s a 1/4 of a blower rotor leaving the building. I doubt that’s what it was but it look like it
Stoked I don't need an old school TV to see this...
A win is a win!
Looking forward to 2023 and a successful career year💞🤗💞🏆🏆🏆🏆🙏🙏🙏🙏
These top fuel cars are so extreme! Everything is right on the very edge of what's possible.
Takes a lot of guts to drive those things.
Wow! Nothing bothers her, she keeps the pedal to the metal and still wins, congrats to TSR
Glad she’s OK!
Just glad neither one of them got hurt that's the most important thing after all
that right there any questions brave young ladiy
Love Leah, glad she is okay
You can see what appears to be the blower luber fly off at 1:28 and again at 2:12. I'm guessing this is what broke the fans collarbone?
Thank you Allen and Nitro alley
Tony is like $$$$ , shes fine , thank God !
Glad she's OK!!
Tony had that look like "welp, there goes $50k"
Both of them blew up. Leah's was just more flames lol. Both blowers not looking so good at the end of the video
The sound of those machines doing their burnouts reminds me of the sounds Godzilla makes in the movies!😤😳🤯
That's why Don Garlits put the engine in the rear
Engine go Boom
1:27 KABLOOEY!
KABLOOOOOOEY!💣💥
Two blowing up in one drag race dont see that often.
KABLOOEY !
Bet that scared the crap outta Tony.
Pop goes the weasel!
Doug kalitta would have saved it from going boom 💥
Hey look! We made the blower disappear! 🤣🤣
Lucky Leah
Slo mo is cool.
Hope tony is enjoying nhra.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
What kind of kahonies does it take to keep your composure after such a massive explosion, and still manage to win
Leah doesn’t have any kahonies😂
@@RA-zl6iw Sure she does....They're just a little further up than one would think 😆😆
Someday somebody is not going to survive these 3 secs. 1/4 mile bombs, OK 1000' bomb.

Seems the only person doing well at this event is the guy selling them parts.
KAPOW!!!
Wow
I wonder how violent that feels inside Leah’s ride?
Like a bomb went off right behind you??
Ask Clay Milliken. It's in one of his videos he shared recently.
What makes an engine blow up like that?
Dropped cylinders. Can't keep stuffing in more if it's got nowhere to exit
@@imafeltersnatch7634 Worst explanation ever.
@@ShainAndrews It's dropping cylinders shortly after the hit is it not?

Husband's Tony please tell her to back off the fuel lever . This was qualifying! Boss her around. She needs a good chewing out!
Fraternal twins…
Good to see lots of women racing powerful cars and winning to
Never had any in my younger days
You must not much tread left on the tires...Shirley Muldowney was winning championships in the late 70's, early 80's...

Why did Route 66 in Chicago close ?????????????
Funding but it returns to the schedule in ‘23
Kablewey is not a kablam thats fer sure.
on the fourth of july I make my own piros and I call em Kablouies cause my name is louie. 🤘🤘🤣🤣
Leah's last name is now Stewart, no longer Pruett
What? Did they tie the knot?!
I believe they did but her car and entry list name are still Pruett so that's what I used

@@rogeeeferrari Facts too difficult for you to comprehend? Legally, her name is now Leah Stewart. My name is not "dude" either PUTZ.
