Today we kind of looked at the Mazdaspeed 6 but not really, and we don't know anything about them to begin with. Mazda fans post angrily below
But we did talk about Netgear's favorite coffee and what Fast and the Furious movie posters look like in Japan. Very cool.
That intro was insane lol
Amazing intro yeah
Hes absolutely right about the fnf panasonic boxes, that would NOT fly in LTL freight. No sir that loader gettin a stern fingee wagged at him lol.
as a TN resident I have seen that exact PT Cruiser on market place three different times being sold by different people
There’s a white one in north Georgia moving around owners as well, but on a 91 ford chassis and a 302
I've road raced a ptgt turbo. It's awesome passing corvettes. Heavy and terrible rear end.
Criminally underrated channel

You guys are the best, I watch easy 70% of car youtube and you guys have a fantastic podcast format and great energy together
You watch 70% of the entire car UA-cam sector? Holy sh!t bro you must do nothing but sleep 4 hours a day and watch mid car content :/
@@Emira_75 only even a slight exaggeration

Always posting wonderful content. I’m only 3 minutes in and I love the video already. Thanks Feed, Netgear, and the rest of the team (love you all) for the great content. It’s really nice and flavorful videos, and I hope you guys are enjoying making these absolute bangers. Great shit y’all❤️

3:00 Oh man the amount of “regular Japan traffic” with Y plates in Okinawa is astounding. Every single person on a military base has something we want over in the states. Everything from every conceivable Nissan model to Toyota Celicas, BZ-R Levins, MR2s. and Corolla Wagons; Accord Wagons and Euro-R’s, Lancer Evos of all generations, and lots of adorable and quirky Kei cars! You do get weird looks at times taking pictures of regular traffic there, but you can’t help it when we don’t get cars like them in the states 😂
i brought a beat back!
My good friend has a 06 Mazdaspeed 6. 1 Family owned. It has 180k miles but it is very clean and well kept. The only mods are 2nd gen MS3 wheels powder coated gunmetal, and a upgraded Corksport turbo just recently since the original one started spewing oil. I’ve driven it before and it was a fun, very nice feeling car. Just a shame there isn’t more clean ones like his.
Time for a forged internal rebuild! Probably piston rings 💀
I've got one with 31k miles rust free and making about 400 wheel horsepower on the stock motor :)
ur pfp looks exactly like the lesbian flag lol
These are even rare in Japan, like I can only find 5 on the market, surprisingly they are all in good condition and charging for around 6000 grands. I guess first gen mps3 and mps6 are rare gens.
When I lived in Japan, one of my supervisors bought a rusted out R32 GT-R for $2500.
My pristine '95 Accord Coupe cost me $2000.
The original 6 was a really fun and charming car. Incredibly fun to drive, compelling body styles (sedan, wagon and 5 door). Depreciated and became hoopties quick. Rotted out even quicker... Mazda never has gotten their rust proofing right. The Duratec 30 was crappy. Yes it had more power, but the lighter 2.3 fit the character of the car way better. Too many of them came with the ugly tacked on body kit (I think the s trim forced it) which made the bodies rust even quicker. A handful got the nice 17" wheels with no body kit. The wagon only came with the V6 and body kit, unfortunately. Mazda never saw huge success with it though, with TONS going into rental service (I drove about half of the production run working at Hertz). Underappreciated by the general public. And the platform was why the first Fusion was also a good car. Generally reliable and fun to drive, especially with the 2.3/2.5. That first one has the crappy Ford engine and something is absolutely wrong with the front suspension. It sits too high up front. The DISI Turbo in the Speed6 was very troublesome. And the keycard was silly, neat, and aged badly (the Speed3, CX9 and CX7 had the keycard too, and some had the DISI). Every Speed6 owner I have ever known was a dirtbag, trashed the car, or both.
I almost bought a Mitsubishi Diamante in Inwood, WV, one time.
A modern day Speed 6 would be sick....if the Mazda 6 was till being made.
Diamante definitely had charm two decades ago and still looks good today. Accord to the Mirage? 🤔
@@person.w9780 It wasn't as performance focused but they did have a turbo option for 2 years in the third gen. That was a drop dead gorgeous sedan and the wagon we never got was just as stunning. Excellent to drive, too. I miss cars. I was reading about the GM-developed Acura ZDX EV today and decided I hate the car industry of today.
@@Marzimus I did get a pearl white 2002 Diamante eventually, just not that one. Great car. Still like the styling. Built like a tank. Neat features (like Trace Control, a proto-ESP that reacted to front wheel speed and used the brakes to keep your intended arc through a turn). One of the few super popular 90s Japanese quasi-hardtops that we got in the US, along with the ES300. And one of the few Australian built cars imported to the US
@@person.w9780 in theory the modern cx60 chassis supports rwd, could build a pretty cool sedan off of that
On the "taking pics of regular traffic". A British company bought the company in the US I work for and the executives came here for a tour. They all took turns having their picture taken in one of our company trucks, a chevy 2500. They were like little kids lol it was so funny. But like they said, "we dont get these where were from!"
Mazdaspeed sales happen in the Speed groups on Facebook is why. They just don't post them on marketplace.
Yeah, they are mostly an inclusive community.
I literally witnessed theft of port holes.
I had the one just like that last car shown. It was a fun car. It liked to squat on the softer rear springs on hard take offs in 1st. The Bose sound was decent but no AUX input from the factory. I only bought one because of the insane Mazda employee lease. Insurance was dirt cheap as it came up as a normal 6. It was Mazda imitating a Subaru Legacy Spec.B
The insurance advantage is no joke, in 2013 I was quoted ~$1.2k/yr, but for a same model year WRX worth exactly the same price, I was quoted over $4k/yr.

TBH I never actually paid attention to what was in the back of the truck either because the resolution was terrible watching it on VHS to read what the boxes say. But I think everyone kept saying they were DVD players because those were valuable at the time so it was logical to assume that's what they were.
Rip to my 6 I spun off skyline blvd. She was a beast on the downhill
skyline blvd takin all the best cars ong
I've owner a 2006 mazdaspeed 6 for about a year now. Bought it at 120k miles and I'm at 140k now, daily drive it. Completely stock and only have done general maintenance (mounts, oil changes, serpentine belt pulleys, etc). They're really good cars and the trans is abnormally strong. A lot of the bad ones are due to idiots getting ahold of these cars and driving them like they're indestructible race cars. I'm near Maryland (near middletown, de) if any of you all would like to see one irl.
They are wonderful cars and all the common "don't buy because" issues are literally owner maintenance issues 😭
Is the turbo in good condition? These usually have turbo bearing failure, it has a bad design from the factory. I would check the impeller for play or see if it has been contacting the housing and shaving bits off.
@@SI0AX That's completely false. Stop spreading false information. They have an OIL SEAL issue from over oiling. Can be fixed with an oil restricting banjo bolt or upgrading to any better turbo. Ko4 is a useless turbo anyway dropping power after 5k rpm.
@@Sprier That is just one of the issues this turbo has. The banjo bolt is a work around to restrict oil flow so the damaged seals don't get pressurized to the point it leaks into the exhaust. Another workaround is to raise the idle RPM so that vacuum decreases at idle.
The main issue I was referring to is the engineering failure part of making the shaft too long leading to too much strain on the shaft bearing leading to premature failure that then causes the impeller to grind on the housing and send metal bits into the engine.
This is why rebuilt MS K04's only have a 1 year warranty because it's just going to quickly fail again anyway.
You can search it up, there is a whole explanation and no other turbo in the market has as long a shaft as the K04 MS turbo's. Once you swap out the turbo you won't have that premature bearing failure, nor seal leaks, nor have to raise idle RPM or use an oil restrictor bolt, nor change to a heavier oil like from 5W-30 to 5W-40. Nothing I have said is false information.
Edit: BTW the power falling after 5K RPM is because the electronic throttle body begins to close after 5K RPM to reduce the turbo speed and this is another story as to why the K04 was an engineering failure. The K04 actually had premature failure since before the Mazdaspeed platforms were released from tests. The turbos are Hitachi and Hitachi contracted a separate engineering company to figure out why the turbos were failing, I forgot the name. What the R&D company found was that the turbo was overheating from being spooled at high RPM so the fix was to make the throttle close after 5k RPM to reduce the turbo rotation speed and prevent premature death. Some people tune out the throttle closure and cause the K04 to die even faster(I ended up doing this very thing and had to swap out my turbo to a BNS S3 pretty early).
@@SI0AX long reply doesn't make right reply, not reading that but I did see s3 in there so even you're smart enough to replace the ko4.
BRO YALL ACTUALLY USED NETGEARS VOICE! Im crying 🤣
I lucked out and found a running speed6 in good condition on marketplace last month for $2k. Had bad spark plugs and dirty injectors, but minimal rust and an otherwise healthy engine. Wasnt planning on buying one but knew i could never find one for that kind of price again.
we need a AI generated episode.

Been around since 10k subs happy to see the progress but this channel definitely needs more.
The MazdaSpeed6 had a much lower production run than the Speed3 did, making them very hard to find in decent condition, much less running, it’s a cool car with a not-so great engine
Engine is easy to work on and it’s the same engine as the speed3. Drop 6k and you already have a 600hp Daily car
@@carlossantamaria7967 Idk about that. I had one, and I priced it out to be around $7k minimum, to make it bearable, let alone get big power out of it
Sup guys, been a while. Last i saw u had ~14k subs. Nice job. Hope yall are well. ❤
intro gets better every video
I had a Mazdaspeed 6 mint until somebody felt the need to hit in a parking lot. And by hit I mean they were going fast and t-boned it while it was parked WAY out of the way of anything (who would have thought they were tweaked out running from cops). Loved that car, didn't really do much past a basic tune and wheels/tires; I try to keep stuff stock unless it's for a toy/project. With a tune, you can get quite a bit more power safely out of them.
I bought back the totaled pile that was left from insurance, bought a Mazda5 van (true minivans, they're fun for what they are), and swapped over everything from the car to the van with a custom drivetrain and suspension setup, making it one hell of an AWD minivan. I also have a Honda fit sport with a turbo, so maybe I just like small van shaped cars.
I found you guys this past week, thank you for getting me through my shifts. I love the content🙏
Dispite these being hard to find, they are Really fun to drive.
I can’t even believe you guys are nearing 40k. 12k feels like it was last week. Keep up the awesome work guys!
we on the come up 😤
Listening to you guys BS about car listings is my favorite thing to do now, love you guys!
Holy fuck that's Mihama in Okinawa. They tore down the huge ferris wheel.
My dad had a speed 6 when I was a kid. Lot of memories in that car
the thing about Fast and Furious titles in Japan is weird, they just call them whatever they want. if i remember right, 5 is called Sky Mission over there, because of one scene where they drop a car out of a plane lol
4:13 underrated comment English to Japanese back to English LMAO
Oh shit, ive seen the mazdaspeed 6 at 9:31 locally, and as of writing, still available
As someone thats owned a MazdaSpeed 6, it's a good thing there arent many
Love this channel. I've been looking into foxbodies lately. Why are they not that expensive where i'm located? Is that model actually a dog and just looks cool? What trim to avoid? automatic or manual?
All I really know about foxbodies is that if there's two cars lined up and one of them's a foxbody, you bet on the foxbody
LX notchback is the cloutmobile, but everybody knows the hatchback GT looks sick anyway, and only Puchii would ever advocate for an automatic under any circumstance
I worked at Best Buy for a summer and that’s how they load their trucks. No pallets just stacked to the roof
as a mazdaspeed6 owner this content makes me happy
My step mom has the wagon 6 with stick, very nice car
The speed6 4wd is actually pretty cool, very similar to evo 4wd systems. You can power slide them too. They are just too heavy. 1.5 tons.
I bought a Non Modded Speed 6 in SLC. I love this car. I put in a new engine last year. I have a video on my account, peeling out in the snow.
This channel is simultaneously cursed and based and i can't stop watching it.
The speed 6 was on paper the perfect daily drive. 2.3 turbo , awd , 6 speed , comfy , 4 doors and leather. The issue was that its mid 2000s Mazda.... Rust was insane , rear diff blew all the time and the engine was also very prone to blow up for no reason.
Most got bought by degens with shocker stickers on the back window and tow hook straps with hella jdm stickers. Obviously they didn't last long after the 1st owner
There was a bunch sold here (north , lot of snow) but they all disappeared. Rust finished the job.
I wanna imagine Netgear throwing out peace signs on that intro beat drop
I dailyed and still own a MS6. Great car
Watch superfast 2015. Saw again with kid, second time after 2 yrs. Hilarious and underrated. Could it be better? Yes, it's budget was likely tiny. If you don't cry during 1 of the scenes, I'd be amazed. Decent writing.

Almost pulled the trigger on a Mazdaspeed 6 but didn't seem to be a whole lot of aftermarket support.
Just do what this channel preaches and keep it stock lol
@@JGL98 Actually ended up buying a 2016 STI limited that was mint and unmolested for a way below market price and and very happy with it.

okay okay i'll put it on a post it note right here and then DEFINITELY do it
Lol Fast & Furious is called WILD SPEED in Japan.
We need a live stream where they react to all of the Fire Boost movies 😂
First F&F is the best, 2nd is good for the memes and some cars, third is pretty good. Also, Mazda Speed 6 is a great looking car just like a 3rd Gen Acura TL, but MS6 drivetrain reliability is worse than the WRX of the same era sadly...
I'd argue the WRX is worse. For starters the Transmission is STI level strong where the WRX has a weak transmission that is torque limited to like 400HP or something. Mazdaspeed 6 can do 1000HP from just a clutch upgrade. Clutch dropping will destroy any transmission and is also a poor way to launch the car anyway especially it being AWD. WRX will die from very few clutch drops, MS6 can survive almost on the same level as STI. The engine is also a bit more reliable, not perfect, you can't change the intake and drive without a tune without blowing the engine. I'd say both blow the same when modded without tunes but the STI has a lower life span in general.
@@SI0AX Fair enough, all I know is I have a ej255 that I just finished an engine rebuild on and my buddy's MS6 engine just blew up, and my other friend has a MS3 that just got a new transmission so at the end of the day they seem to be about the same. The sad part is all these cars are just getting older and good examples are harder to find.
@@My.Lame.Perspective Yeah, you can have a stock tune in both WRX and MS6 and blow the engine from low RPM full throttle, like full throttle in 6th gear doing 70 mph with RPM's below 3,000. Turbo cars don't like low RPM unless it's a diesel. The transmission in a MS3 is pretty weird since it's FWD and only comes in manual. The transfercase between MS3 1st gen and MS6 is exactly the same, so that is pretty weird. I have no clue what the hell could have broken unless he did a brake job and did a poor bleed procedure leaving air in the line making the clutch not engage properly and grinding the hell out of the gears.
Pretty sure that PT cruiser belongs to Scott from Kentucky ballistics but I'm not sure
Fire Boost really needs a sequel..
Imagine if they call Tokyo Drift, American Drag race in Japan.

Who is they Netgear?
Can someone explain exactly how these cars repeatedly get so ruined? A regular joe/jane who clearly doesnt care much about cars and just wants it to get them from point a to b doesn't let their average car become like this. How do people who supposedly have a passion for cars allow their cars becomes complete piles?
Netgear doesn't miss
Just runnin through the mazdas lol, my bro had a 6 v6 and it died auoer hard, don't buy one, nice vids bro

Everyone has always said the V6 was the most unreliable engine it was well know even when the car first came out. It was a Ford V6. Ford makes some pretty garbage V6's.
Aqua man was the best part of the movie tbh
The Mazdaspeed 6 is the Acura TSX’s uncle that’s spent it’s entire life in and out of jail.

I used to do that, if you go back about a year all the videos have dedicated outros. It's horrible for retention so I quit doing it. I'll admit I need to probably reconsider font size for the Patreon credits so it all fits in between the youtube overlay
