They actually have quite a lot of fans, they only play in an enormous arena. Hertha are also trying to build a new stadium with 50,000 capacity to be finished in 2026 which will better suit ticket demand.
Honestly, 80-90% of these cities have around for several centuries - long before football was even a thing. Makes sense that there wouldn't be space for a 50k seater stadium in the middle of the old city centres lmao
When thinking of Monaco, as a Croat, the first player that comes to mind is Dado Pršo and his 4 goals against Deportivo in the Champions League on his birthday :)
As a Zenit fan from Saint Petersburg I was really surprised to see Gasprom Arena in the first game! Also you were just one island away to the right from our former Petrovskiy Stadium.
Realistically, the younger fans probably think of Mbappe which is fair IF they realized he hasn't always been a PSG player. Older football fans likely think of the older players
Mbappe is probably the obvious (recent) choice, but for me it was James Rodriguez and Bernardo Silva (bc I was so excited to watch them play a friendly in my hometown). Falcao, Patrick Vieira or Cesc are also coming to mind ...
@@DanBTF they lost 1-0 to Augsburg (in Memmingen , which is 30 Minuten away Form Augsburg). Falcao almost got a red, bc he started a fight hahaha. I just looked at the lineup, they played also With Moutinho, Eric Abidal and were coached by Claudio Ranieri...
A few years ago I was in the stadium in St. Petersburg (Russia). And its so nice. And great video, it's amazing that you know so many stadiums :-) And sorry for my spelling.I'm not from England and my English is not perfect.I hope it is still understandable :-)
Porto was one of the only non English ones I knew within the first second of seeing it, having been for the Nations League finals in 2019, fantastic place
I've never watched a video of yours but I am from Groningen, what a coincidence - also quite curious how you knew it was that club, if it really was just the green I guess that's something that's really distinctive huh. Btw, you clicked on the training complex of Groningen which has those pitches there so that threw you off with the location, where the stadium is indeed surrounded by concrete.
Hey, thanks for watching! It was honestly just the green. Off the top of my head I can think of St Etienne and Werder Bremen that also play in green and beyond that its relatively uncommon. I just had a look back through my old videos from when I first started this channel to check it hadn't come up before in a game of World Stadiums and it hadn't. I was quite surprised when I got it right so quickly as those indoor stadium tours can be tough to work out! :)
Older people would think of Klinsmann or Glenn Hoddle, maybe Victor Ikpeba or Djorkaeff. Monaco has never been a club with a lot of fans and passion and players mostly come because of the advantageous taxes. It's like a washing machine that drains players in and out every year so it's kinda hard to really have one player's choice when they don't spend most of their career there. The OGs would probably mention Ludovic Giuly or Delio Onnis (best goalscorer in Ligue 1 history, 223 goals in 278 games with Monaco)
