Ichigo not saying anything to Byakuya was such a powerful moment to me. Because what it means is that Ichigo isn't aknowledging Byakuya's pledge for help. Byakuya discarded all his honor to ask Ichigo for help and Ichigo is basically acting like he heard nothing and leaves to do what he already planned on doing in the first place, allowing Byakuya to keep his honor.
Well, exactly. Byakuya didn't need to ask, Ichigo was going to do that anyway, that's just the kind of person Ichigo is. His name is, according to Isshin, He Who Protects.
I like how they show it was Chojiro that held Ywach still in the flashback at the start. It shows that taking out Chojiro first was a cleverly planned move to get rid of Genryuusai's support. And also vengeance for last time. It gives his death sense, pathos and WEIGHT.
I thought exactly the same! It always surprised me that during the first invasion they only killed some random vice-captain and now I know - It was personal.
Two details that I'd like to point out: 1. The scene where Ichigo was still trapped and was screaming "don't disappear!", you can see him visualizing the reiatsus vanishing but the thing is---the visuals looked oddly similar to when Grimmjow and his fraccions were using *pesquisa.* I think they're trying to imply that Ichigo was utilizing pesquisa at that moment, whether intentionally or unconsciously. 2. Also the scene where Ichigo arrived in the battlefield and was scanning over the area from above, he "flash stepped" to Byakuya but if you listen closely the sound is a bit different. Instead of the typical *whoosh* of a shunpo, it had a faint *thud* which is much closer to the sonic boom that a *sonido* emits. Furthermore, the fact that after Ichigo did it, Mask De Masculine remarked that his reiatsu disappeared which is again another distinct characteristic of a sonido---that being able to slip past detection because of the fact that it doesn't use any reiatsu to perform. I don't know if this is 100% the case but if it is then that's very dope and subtle way of showcasing Ichigo's hollow instincts kicking in. edit: Also someone pointed out that his reiatsu turned red when he was angry, which kinda reminded me of Ichigo's reiatsu when he went full hollow on Ulquiorra.
That's how most spiritually aware beings visualize and sense reiatsu. It's why Kaname can "see" despite being blind. I think it's reading too far into a rudimentary ability.
@@D-Havoc I get you, however sensing is different from actually seeing a visual image inside your head which if i remember correctly,(correct me if I'm wrong) nobody was ever shown doing manga/anime wise aside from Ichigo and Arrancars, the same way they depicted it here. I can even remember back in SS---while everyone sensed Chad losing consciousness, Ichigo's perspective was the only one with a specified visual image of Chad's reiatsu in the form of a flame, the same with Grimmjow, and in this episode. I get you tho, i might be reaching but just a little speculation I've had in mind that i want to share.
5:17 You can see Unohana's scar, meaning she has already faced Zaraki and received a scar from him from a thousand years ago. Which also signifies that hes around Kyoraku and Ukitake's age.
I absolutely loved the immense and subtle detail they added to Ichigo in this episode, like how his bankai actually showed wear and tear damage from trying to break out of the jail and from fighting with Yhwach and how his reiatsu became red from the sheer rage Ichigo was feeling this episode. Every episode just keeps getting better!
The scene of yama walking on the mountain of bodies was actually so harrowing and disturbing. They really went the extra mile to show how brutal this war was/is.
@@muleyamwiinga3988 obviously, but when you're looking at animated characters and only hearing about death, theres like 2 or 3 layers of disconnection already, this really wanted to hammer home "this shit was fucked up"
I loved the Byakuya scene after Ichigo left because he called him a man, an adult, where as in the beginning of the story, it was ALWAYS ‘Boy’. It showed how Byakuya sees him differently than he did, the respect Ichigo earned from him.
i never saw Yamamoto's reasoning on asking help from humans as a matter of pride, i always assumed it was guilt. Like he feels guilty that these children are fighting his wars his battles risking their lives due to his incompetence, they could have lived long and fulfilling lives if he was better at his job but now here they are fighting and dying for his world
@Maab zafar he is though. Even if he's a hybrid of various things, he is, at his core, human. He's not a Hollow, he just has hollow powers. He's not a soul (the race), he just can externalize his Konpaku and use Soul Reaper powers. He is human.
@Maab zafar I mean Ichigo will tell you he's a human lol, at least 1stly that's how he sees himself. he lives a normal life on earth with a normal job etc & was born of a human Masaki & his Dad who, albeit shinigami blood/dna, conceived him in a gigai human body that ages at a human speed
I for one am very glad this show got a later Japan air time slot. This is phenomenal all around and the very minimal censoring really elevates this to another level. This week’s episode was gorgeous from start to finish.
Even Byakuya cried during that scene, this guy is a pridefull head of one of the 4 noble houses, the only thing that softens him is his wifes sister who he swore to protect, his honor and pride was incinerated by his own bankai that he was so fond and proud of. I would cry and be broken too.
It was his supreme humbling and in a way that of Soul Society as a whole. He was nevertheless brave going against such ruthless fear driven opponent, according to the postwar novel WDKALY most of his fellow nobles ran off into hiding as soon as the Quincies made their presence known.
Studio Pierrot is really giving their best to deliver a top tier quality animation. I don't know what to expect for next week's episode regarding Byakuya's death or not death. I believe that any path they chose, they will be able to improve it from the source material since Kubo really committed to make this the definitive version of the Thousand Year Blood War arc. Bankai!
The way you know exactly how's the essence of Byakuya it's one of the things which makes your analyzes the best ones and my favorite channel, of both OP and Bleach. I'm not native english speaker but I understand everything you say because it's very clear. Keep doing your amazing job, thank you a lot!
That scene with Byakuya, I think Ichigo is feeling a lot of rage, and an equal amount of guilt, because if he hadn't played with Quilge, if he'd just gone for Bankai off the bat, and had made sure Quilge was dead, if he just took it more seriously from the start he could've been there to protect his friends. I think he blames himself for not being there, and he HATES the Sternritters.
Tekking did a fantastic job at explaining the significance of that scene between Byakuya and Ichigo, Ichigo's perspective in general. Byakuya is a prideful man and the embodiment of Soul Society itself. I simply love how they showcased his selflessness and shame of letting everyone down. More than a broken man, the SS was pleading through Byakuya for help.
The war sure reached its apex at this phase, between the flashback to the brutal last war with the ruthless Gotei 13 and Byakuya dropping his ravaged pride begging Ichigo to save Soul Society. Also take note of how humiliating and gruesome Yamamoto's death was, it was almost a brief apology for all the atrocities of the past before he was sent to the fires for good.
Yamamoto's death is one of the worst plot moves in all history ( only the appearance of Kaguya at the end of Shippuden can topple it). The most powerful shinigami after revealing the coolest bankai until this point is killed like an utter weakling. I'm not a manga reader after this point but it will be difficult to rectify such an enormous blunder.
I remember back in 2016 when tekking and the bleach Fandom got the soul crushing news that bleach will end in 5 weeks , one of tekkings many rant videos was a topic about the thousand year blood war flashback that we never got . I'm sure current tekking is very happy we got that scene with the original captains .
Yamamoto with Shunsui having that flashback was great and OG Gotei 13 killing quincies which was wild to see after that artwork released and Ichigo speaking to Byakuya done awesome and him fighting Yhwach which was dope plus the reveal of Ichigo having the best genes ever lul
If rain represents despair then it means that the drops that evaporate on contact with Ichigo's aura represent hope. Moreover, we can see that the drops evaporate further and further away from Ichigo which could mean that hope is spreading.
@@sultanachoudhury4461 Agreed. Byakuya was a more fleshed out character who was more integral to the series than Kin'enmon was in his own which made it more impactful.
*This episode of Bleach was INSANE, Ichigo looking a raging demon in one, Yhwach being evil and very disrespectful to Yamamoto and really enjoyed in-canon filler with Ichigo vs Yhwach too.* Also REALLY loved see the old Gotei 13, would love a novel, a few filler episodes or a mini manga based on them.
@@imsentinelprime9279 In-canon filler, One Piece does it all the time dumbass and if it was new, then Byakuya would be dead and IchiRuki would be canon, which is NEVER happening.
@@joeycash9739 But the fucking creator HIMSELF said he wants the anime to be the new fucking Canon. So how about you do some research for yourself. And come back dumbass btch.

So I’m of 2 minds about Byakuyas “death”. On one hand I think it would’ve been a very impactful moment for Rukia and Renji, but on the other I like the scenes we get with him. Him encouraging Rukia to defeat As Nodt, him helping her safely increase her body temperature and calling her Bankai beautiful, obviously the whole Gerard fight will look insane, him paying for Rukia and Renji’s wedding announcement dinner and everything involved in WDKALY. That’s some good shit. I’m conflicted
I feel like byakuyas "death" was kinda like Kakashi's in naruto. Like some important characters have already died but the author picks a fan favorite to "kill" to add that literally extra emotional oomph. Like I hated pain so much when I thought he killed Kakashi because he already took Jiraya from us.
I'm pretty sure the poem is said by Kukaku, which makes sense since she should be sending Ichigo and the Zero Division back up to the Royal Palace next episode.
When Ichigo goes over to Byakuya from surveying the soul Society from the sky, the sound that was made was not the typical sound for flash step. It was the sound for Sonido.
I think my favorite original Gotei 13 member is the guy with the arm bands. He seems like the coolest looking one. About Byakuya... remember that in the very first trailer for the anime, we got a brief scene of Byakuya in his Soul King Palace outfit as he uses his Shikai. That pretty much guarantees he will survive like in the manga.
I love how even us that read the manga are surprised in every new chapter its amazing and Im glad that you are enjoying this content as much as you did back then
I thought the last episode of old man Yama was crazy but this one was stupid good! The old gotei went nuts so cool to see them in action! The way ichigo pulled up in first person and didn’t give a crap what dude had to say and getsuga straight to the face! The way everyone noticed he pulled up and when he jumped and disappeared like that was dope aff! That scene with byakuya hit the feels having to ask ichigo to do a job he couldn’t do and the tear! Oh man when the rain was evaporated because of his spiritual pressure was crazy hype. And that filler fight with Bach was epic as all hell did not expect that at all ichigo spiritual pressure going berserk was boss level! Episode was so damn good man! Beyond expectations! 💯💯💯
Thank you tekking101 for talking about bleach for so many years man. I like watching ur old bleach videos. Bring back my childhood and like that someone who will always like bleach. Thanks for the videos man.
Byakuya dying would have probably been the better choice, but I also believe this serves as more of a metaphorical thing then a literal one. We see Byakuya literally breakdown in tears, and in the manga they say how he may never wake up or be able to be a captain again, obviously we know how that goes but, I would say that the scene represents the death of his pride, of his honor in his eyes, like tekking says he’s heartbroken that he was not able to protect all of those soul reapers, and that by losing the soul society he’s essentially failed at the one thing he’s been entrusted with, the entire meaning of his existence. He pleads to ichigo with what he believed was his final breaths because he knew that if he didn’t, that if he didn’t let go of his pride and ask ichigo to save the ones he loves, then he would regret dying right then and there. I believe he probably should have stayed dead, but if bringing him back meant he was humbled in a way that makes him progress as a character then i don’t hate it, I quite like how rukia fights Asnot, Byakuya could have been angry and fought him to regain his honor and pride but instead he realized he would not be able too, and helped rukia instead, who at that point was stronger then he was.
Tekking discussing at 13:40 how the captain with glasses have big Tatas just made me roll one the floor. The way he describing it so seriously and explaining how it is part of his job lmao XD technically, he's correct xD
Hey Tekking! I don’t know if you’re going to see this, but it just so happens that I was introduced to the world of manga through your readthrough of this very chapter back in 2012. For that, you have my eternal thanks! God bless you man!
Man the Byakuya scene was a hit to the feels, honestly there's something about the fact that Byakuya went from seeing Ichigo as an upstart brat with no respect for his superiors to now being the person he MOST respects just brings a tear to my eye lol, I particularly liked in the lost agent arc when he tells Tsukishima that he will cut down anyone no matter who they are if they are Ichigo's enemy, that's some serious respect right there, proud of ya Byakuya. Ywhach didn't say that Yama thought Ichigo was a burden being there, in that line he said that Yama was trying to carry the burden of the soul society AND thew world of the living on his own shoulders and was reluctant to involve Ichigo in it as it's not Ichigo's job to defeat the threats to their worlds and relying on someone not part of the Gotei would be a disgrace as it was their job and theirs alone to protect the balance of things. With the Yama being took off the Special War powers list line I don't think this was a different translation, I believe that Kubo wanted to redo/clarify the whole Yama and special war powers thing (it was very vague originally) as obviously Yama should be on there as he's (or was) more powerful than everyone else (minus Ichibei who I believe is about the same strength just with stronger hax so yes I think Ichibei is a bigger threat), if Yama didn't go straight to Ywhach he could have torn every Sternritter apart without using Bankai at all and would be a major threat to their plans if left unchecked so its stupid to not have him on the list and without the Bankai stealing medallions he would have been the biggest threat to Ywhach, but Yama was so predictable, complacent and prideful that he thinks he can easily beat Ywhach and that he thinks his Bankai can't be stolen so Ywhach knew that he would go right to him so he didn't need to worry about him therefore took him off the list after some consideration and the list is not a list for Ywhach as he can deal with everyone on the list with relative ease, its a list for his army to be aware of the biggest threats on the battlefield so yeah Yama would be on there if Ywhach wasn't so sure he was going to deal with Yama. He calls Yama weak but that's in mindset as Yama is arguably more powerful now than he was 1000 years ago (mastered Bankai, more experience ect) minus the lost arm (which is stupid for Yama as one of his OWN teachings is Kendo as he taught Kenpachi about 2 handing a sword is FAR stronger than one handing) but him not willing to do ANYTHING to win was his downfall (although because Yama's main problem power is his Bankai he still would have lost to Ywhach or a few members of the Elite Guard like Gerrard and Lille).
On the subject of Byakuya - If he were to die then: - As Tekking said, nothing of value was lost - Rukia receives true motivation to beat As Nodt - Renji can become a captain (how did he NOT become a captain with so many vacant spots is the question) - If we get the final final arc, we get Renji + Rukia vs Hell's Byakuya
I just realized something. When u look at the Unohana part she already has the scar that Zaraki gave her. I was always under the assumption that it was after the Quincy war that those 2 confronted each other but apparently not. Huh so among the current Gotei 13 Kenny is probably the oldest(other than Yamaji n Unohana of course)maybe even older than Shunsui n Ukitake. Damn Kenny is over a 1000 yrs old. What do u know. 😌
The Stern Ritter are based off of Germany, and they use the German alphabet, which has 28 letters instead of 26. That's why there were 28 Stern Ritter. Although Gremmy created Chaz, he can only control what he created directly. Chaz cut off chunks of his flesh and healed them until piece by piece, he no longer contained the parts of himself that Gremmy had created. This freed him from being tied to Gremmy. Edit: Shunsui named Byakuya as his successor according to the novels. He both thought he'd be best for the job anyway, but Yamamoto had like, a list of replacements for him. Shunsui was #1, Joshiro was #2, and Byakuya was #3.
@@LupercalRising It's not true. The novels never mentioned Shunsui Grooming Byakuya to be the next Head captain. He's just waking Byakuya thinking no one else read the novels or something.
German has three or four more letters in its alphabet, not just two: ä ö ü and ß (which isn't used often anymore ans oftentimes gets replaced by double s)
You mentioned the rain effects...the reason it was raining was a side effect due to Yamamoto's bankai evaporating all the water within the Seireitei - as soon as he deactivated it, all that water started to fall as rain and I'm sure that happens every time he uses bankai (pretty badass tbh).
I’m thinking the glasses lady of the first Gotei 13 might be a member of the Ise Clan, simply because of Kubo’s penchant for designing characters with familiar traits. While not a noble house, they are significant to the history of the Soul Society. I can see them establishing that history here among the court guard.
31:50 Mayuri actually appeared running in the battlefield some episodes ago, just after the captains got their bankai stolen. And even Commented on Akon calling Ichigo.
For me, that moment Byakuya and Rukia had during her fight with As Nodt is why I’m glad he survived from his near death experience during the first invasion from his fight with As Nodt. That moment was so important for Rukia because she needed to hear him say that as his approval is something that she’s wanted for the entire series. Him being there in spirit or her having a flashback of him would not have been as affective as him actually saying what he said to her in that moment. And then that talk he had with her after she defeated As Nodt…my heart. 🥹 And don’t get me started on him giving her away to Renji and telling her that he wants her to be happy or to her happy in We Do Knot Always Love You because… 🥹🥹🥹 Also because Byakuya is my favorite captain and I don’t want him to die, but his moments with Rukia after his near death experience is what really makes me glad that he survived.
I agree, but byakuya being alive also kind of deters her character, as she should evolved beyond needing his recognition, and just accept that he was proud of her as she moves on as a more independent chqracter.
But I think him being alive hurts rrnji the most, renji was set up to surpass him one day, and just as he gets incredibly strong, byakuya comes back even stronger, and renji stays a liutenant while rukia is promoted to a captain
The moment with Rukia is nice, but Byakuya surviving means that she never actually steps out of his shadow. Instead of Byakuya showing up and saving Rukia AGAIN, having Rukia overcome Tartar Foras through her bond with him would be just as impactful.
I’d be curious to know if anyone who hasn’t read the the manga would have noticed Kenpachi Unohana in this episode. She looks different enough that I can imagine some people assuming it’s someone who just looks similar. Either way, I love the sheer boldness of hiding that huge reveal in plain sight.
Seeing the original Gotei is something ive wanted since reading about them it was so dope, seeing Byakuya broken and asking for Ichigos help was so hardcore, these are the gods of death and they failed
The line Yamamoto says when he catches Shunsui looking at the portrait about a monster showing up and making things worse. I like to think part of the reason Yamamoto looks so dejected after losing to Yhwach is he realized he was right and that he once again made things worse and wont be coming back to fix it...
This episode brought so much hope into me on this adaptation, because I was upset by a few cuts like Chojiro’s Eulogy, the lieutenants meeting, and some comedy but now I know most things were done out of necessity to improve the arc by giving Kubo the opportunity to show his unshackled vision, aside from the fact it’ll probably still have to follow the same story beats the manga had. Also I hope they expand on the original Gotei in this anime or the hell arc and hopefully expand on the glasses girl I’m curious if she has linage.
A quick note, Unohana is shown with the scar in her chest. For as much as I remember it was Zaraki who did that. That means that she is probably not a formal Kenpachi in that version of Gotei 13 already. Also it means that Zaraki is more then 1000 years old. Which means that he was roaming in the rukon for 9 hundred something???
Did anyone else hear the catch in Matt's throat when he said "Byakuya dies" this is a man who loves his craft and the material he covers. Bleach and One Piece community's are blessed by creators like this from time to time. Thank you man
few days late but man its great to see you covering bleach again, also th girl with the purple pigtails and eyepatch doesnt she look like Shunsui's zonpaktou spirit?? also the guy with the fur collar could be related to Komomura
17:42 I think Yamamoto meant it more like if he were to become again that monster he wouldn't be able to go back to be the person he was now in the time of peace
This episode was as fire as the last one. I love how we actually got to see the original captains and honestly captain riruka looks amazing Also somehow chojirou dying was the best character growth he had in the anime as episode 1 to 7 are basically his story Negative for me is how they used the exact same scenes for the original captains as it should have been just once and have juha Bach talk over how crazy they were. Dropped the enjoyment of the episode a bit for me. But the fight with Ichigo was incredible and seeing shaz was hilarious considering they already erased the two useless shinigami and fake aizen who told a boring version of how war works when the Quincy do it better.
So Shaz actually became a real person in one of those books due to his abilities where he can regenerate. Apparently he replaced all the imaginary parts of himself with real parts made of reishi. It's why he was granted the Shrift. He attacked central46 to learn how to create a Hogyoku and Izuru ended up 'killing' him but weighing him down into the floor. Whenever he took reishi to regenerate he sunk deeper and would sink literally forever.
I rewatched the very beginning of Bleach, ep 1-5, then jumped to TYBW ep 7. It seems this ep gives a nudge to those episodes. Quincy powers reawaken like his Soul Reaper powers. I loved it. Also, Byakuya humbling himself like Renji did when he asked for Ichigo to save Rukia was another noticed moment.
I like to think that had Byakuya had not had his Bankai stolen, he would've died. But because his spirit wasn't in his sword when it disintegrated, it didn't really do anything.
Tbh, the extra scene with Aizen in the anime makes it a lot clearer when Ywhach was actually tricked by Aizen. Aizen and Ywhach didn't have anything else to discuss, but Aizen brings something up to stall Ywhach and use Kyoka Suigetsu to more than likely give Ichigo time. He didn't exactly have any other reason to keep talking unless he just wanted to trash talk the Quincy God which is also believable. We do know that Aizen can sense everyone above, so he probably didn't sense Ichigo, but could assume he'd show up if given time considering the situation. Interesting to see how well the extra Aizen scene fits in with the canon of the manga. Also Aizen is just a flex and a half and then some as always. #ReleaseTheAizen
@Tekking101 apparently in the ending, due to an anime mistake the og Gotei 13 captains shown second and third are in the wrong order and should be swapped. All the others are in the right order. So the Shihoin dude is captain of squad 2 and the "salary man" is squad 3 captain. Jaymes mentions it in his video.
This episode completely blew my mind... I was just gobsmacked. Everything about it was absolutely perfect. 6 and 7 are going to go down as 2 of the greatest episodes in Bleach. The ost was unbelievable, the music for Bleach has always been incredible but now that we have direction, cinematography and animation to go along with it. Just makes it even better. The original Gotei 13 appearing for the first time ever was so good, i am happy to get anime original content like this which hopfully ties into hell arc whenever we get to it. The big moment of the episode with Byakuya was perfectly done. The tone, lightning and intensity. He didnt need to even ask ichigo, he knew ichigo would protect the SS but he swallowed his pride and asked. Ichigo chosing not to answer to likely let byakuya keep some little pride was great too. Extending the fight also makes me really happy considering the manga ended the fight so quickly. This is the sort of first clash you would want. Yhwach is terrifying
The Original captain Tekking was talking about that reminds him of Riruka gives me Major Shunsui Kyōraku vibes. Only because she reminds me of his zanpakto spirit.
Sasakibe having that big of a role in Yhwach's death makes way more sense why his death specifically was highlighted so early in the fight. Edit: Which *further* proves Yhwach's point in Yama, cause how do you go from doing something that badass to getting low diff'd by Ichigo earlier in the series lol.
I dont think there's just those 2 reasons you brought up for Yamamoto not wanting to ask for help. Juha's entire spiel was about Yamamoto growing weak because he also grew "soft". So even if pride might have factored into things, I think it's more a thing of not wanting to cause more trouble for the humans than they already have. I'm pretty sure Yamamoto feels some guilt for always dragging Ichigo into Soul Society's battles, similar to what Byakuya put into words this same episode. So I think it all just came down to Yama not wanting to cause any more issues for Ichigo, his friends and generally non-involved parties. Even if it's just something like having Orihime heal his arm.
Also, your comments at 51:20 about Byakuya needing to be in the rest of the story... Counterpoint - he needs to have the comedic moment with Toshiro about the size difference when battling Gerard.
Its something he would say to rukia "you idiot, i was going to save you whether you asked or not"...he just chose not say it this time
Fewer words, greater impact
Well, exactly. Byakuya didn't need to ask, Ichigo was going to do that anyway, that's just the kind of person Ichigo is. His name is, according to Isshin, He Who Protects.

@Maab zafar they don't know at this point you bozo
I feel this point heavy.. he should not feel guilty tho he the man and he has mercy in his heart
''incompetence'' dude what are u saying, shinigamis are not obligated to protect the human world.
I for one am very glad this show got a later Japan air time slot. This is phenomenal all around and the very minimal censoring really elevates this to another level. This week’s episode was gorgeous from start to finish.
Tekking pausing his commentary to "really focus on the big tatas that we might have missed" was hilarious 😆
Ironically Aizen saved the soul society by causally flexing on the major vilian of this arc ☠️
Lol I wonder if aizen meant to save the soul society or if he was just tryna flex on the quincy king trying to show him he ain’t a follower 😂
There's no doubt he blames himself for being late, but it's not his fault. He wasn't prepared for what Quilge could do.
@@D-Havoc Yeah, but Ichigo's the kind of guy to blame himself for stuff like that anyway.
He's gohan Jr plays with his food to much lol
Great point dog
@@D-Havoc He could have one shot him but messed around.
If ichigo was this serious that dude is lasting maybe 10 seconds.
Also take note of how humiliating and gruesome Yamamoto's death was, it was almost a brief apology for all the atrocities of the past before he was sent to the fires for good.
funny you said fires, he may be in the hell arc
Stop talking pathetic hater and get out
Yamamoto with Shunsui having that flashback was great and OG Gotei 13 killing quincies which was wild to see after that artwork released and Ichigo speaking to Byakuya done awesome and him fighting Yhwach which was dope plus the reveal of Ichigo having the best genes ever lul
If rain represents despair then it means that the drops that evaporate on contact with Ichigo's aura represent hope. Moreover, we can see that the drops evaporate further and further away from Ichigo which could mean that hope is spreading.
The hype the opening to this episode has is godly
They went all out to extend the short Ichigo vs yhwach fight. Really looking forward to see what they can do for their rematch.
@Maab zafar i’m pretty sure he tried to use it against Ichibei but his ink removed it’s name
Byakuya asking Ichigo to save soul society was like Kin'emon asking luffy to carry wano on his back... I cried real tears for both!
Byakuya way more impactful. Both are good though.
@@sultanachoudhury4461 shut up, both are impactful in its own ways. its not about comparing the two, its about the meaning behind them
@@sultanachoudhury4461 Agreed. Byakuya was a more fleshed out character who was more integral to the series than Kin'enmon was in his own which made it more impactful.
*This episode of Bleach was INSANE, Ichigo looking a raging demon in one, Yhwach being evil and very disrespectful to Yamamoto and really enjoyed in-canon filler with Ichigo vs Yhwach too.*
Also REALLY loved see the old Gotei 13, would love a novel, a few filler episodes or a mini manga based on them.
It's not fucking filler. This is the new Canon. Just act like the Manga didn't happen. And just watch the damn show.
@@imsentinelprime9279 In-canon filler, One Piece does it all the time dumbass and if it was new, then Byakuya would be dead and IchiRuki would be canon, which is NEVER happening.
@@imsentinelprime9279 No idiot we wouldn’t have this if not for the manga, you can’t uncanonized published manga by the creator lol
@@joeycash9739 But the fucking creator HIMSELF said he wants the anime to be the new fucking Canon. So how about you do some research for yourself. And come back dumbass btch.
@@imsentinelprime9279 I don’t need to do research idiot he’s adding on to what he created. It’s still going end the same way with ichigo true bankai, saying the manga doesn’t count is dumb af. ITS THE SOURCE MATERIAL THEY’RE USING😂😂😂
So I’m of 2 minds about Byakuyas “death”.
@@phinks5368 i like pain but i am more of a obito and madara fan.
Don’t forget him finaly using his bankai like we all thought he would the time he used it against ichigo xd
I'm pretty sure the poem is said by Kukaku, which makes sense since she should be sending Ichigo and the Zero Division back up to the Royal Palace next episode.
Mommy Kukaku in next episode confirmed??
When Ichigo goes over to Byakuya from surveying the soul Society from the sky, the sound that was made was not the typical sound for flash step. It was the sound for Sonido.
Unohana would be a pretty good Captain Commander. She's been there since the beginning with Yama and probably learned A LOT of things through her term
I don't think so. This is my opinion btw.
@@cursegear5 You don't have to say it's your opinion I'm cool with you disagreeing with me but thank you😊
Man your description of Byakuya brought so many feelings out of me
I think my favorite original Gotei 13 member is the guy with the arm bands. He seems like the coolest looking one.
About Byakuya... remember that in the very first trailer for the anime, we got a brief scene of Byakuya in his Soul King Palace outfit as he uses his Shikai. That pretty much guarantees he will survive like in the manga.
1:10:19 that's Kukaku Shiba. You can see the glove she's wearing during soul society arc.
This 100% my favourite episode so far the storytelling the visuals and the soundscape was just amazing
I love how even us that read the manga are surprised in every new chapter its amazing and Im glad that you are enjoying this content as much as you did back then
We got extra content and bad ass fighting scenes, worth the wait
Such a great episode! I'm really looking forward to see how epic the future episodes will be 🤘 🔥
I thought the last episode of old man Yama was crazy but this one was stupid good! 💯💯💯
Power scaling went WOOOP
Glad to hear you're feeling better. By the way, are you planning on making more videos on the CFYOW novels?
Thank you tekking101 for talking about bleach for so many years man. I like watching ur old bleach videos. Bring back my childhood and like that someone who will always like bleach. Thanks for the videos man.
Your breakdowns are one of a kind! Really looking forward to them.
It was well worth the wait to see the Original Gotei 13 in action. Kubo doesn't miss.
TEKKING THAT "YO MOMMA" BIT WAS PURE GOLD 😂😂😂😂😂
On the subject of Byakuya - If he were to die then:
- As Tekking said, nothing of value was lost
- Rukia receives true motivation to beat As Nodt
- Renji can become a captain (how did he NOT become a captain with so many vacant spots is the question)
- If we get the final final arc, we get Renji + Rukia vs Hell's Byakuya
Never knew that about Byakuya thats awesome
@@LupercalRising It's not true. The novels never mentioned Shunsui Grooming Byakuya to be the next Head captain. He's just waking Byakuya thinking no one else read the novels or something.
German has three or four more letters in its alphabet, not just two: ä ö ü and ß (which isn't used often anymore ans oftentimes gets replaced by double s)
In what novel did shunsui name byakuya his successor lol
Nice
You mentioned the rain effects...the reason it was raining was a side effect due to Yamamoto's bankai evaporating all the water within the Seireitei - as soon as he deactivated it, all that water started to fall as rain and I'm sure that happens every time he uses bankai (pretty badass tbh).
I’m thinking the glasses lady of the first Gotei 13 might be a member of the Ise Clan, simply because of Kubo’s penchant for designing characters with familiar traits.
While not a noble house, they are significant to the history of the Soul Society. I can see them establishing that history here among the court guard.
Was hoping you would talk about Ichigo using Sonido when he was surveying the battlefield😢
31:50 Mayuri actually appeared running in the battlefield some episodes ago, just after the captains got their bankai stolen. And even Commented on Akon calling Ichigo.
Bro i wish i was an anime only watcher... Ichigos sword being broken and the hopeless look he had is just unbeatable
🥹 And don’t get me started on him giving her away to Renji and telling her that he wants her to be happy or to her happy in We Do Knot Always Love You because… 🥹🥹🥹
Also because Byakuya is my favorite captain and I don’t want him to die, but his moments with Rukia after his near death experience is what really makes me glad that he survived.
The scene with Byakuya, reminds me of when Vegeta did basically the same thing as he was dying on Namek.
54:35 Thats not retro ryno, he never animated that scene at all, that was Rayjii
All I'm gonna say is that I'm happy that you're back in good health, Tekking!
I loved this episode so much we final got to see the original gotei 13 in all their glory I loved the promotional art we got 10/10.
Why were they called "foreign 13"?
@@deathsdoor07I miss spelled cause I’m so happy right now.
New Tekking + new episode of bleach. I honestly didn't expect this to happen. I am glad it did.
Did anyone else hear the catch in Matt's throat when he said "Byakuya dies" this is a man who loves his craft and the material he covers. Bleach and One Piece community's are blessed by creators like this from time to time. Thank you man
If bleach keeps this standard up this arc is going to be the best anime saga ever created. Can't believe how good it is
What actually surprises me is the level of glasses technology... 1000 years ahead of their time...
This episode was incredible. I watched it 3 times. I love the first person view when he took out that quincy during his monolog.
few days late but man its great to see you covering bleach again, also th girl with the purple pigtails and eyepatch doesnt she look like Shunsui's zonpaktou spirit?? also the guy with the fur collar could be related to Komomura
Just younger. It would be funny if Shunshi's zanpakto was that captain's zanpakto.
I see Riruka and I'm on my knees.
But Yes! Glasses girl most definitely has some PERSONALITIES, never change Tekking 😂🤝😂
Feeling your zanpukto?
My man
As a german, I can say that Wandenreich is pronounced like "Vandenreisch"
been waiting on this one hope you feeling better Tekking
17:42 I think Yamamoto meant it more like if he were to become again that monster he wouldn't be able to go back to be the person he was now in the time of peace
This episode was as fire as the last one. I love how we actually got to see the original captains and honestly captain riruka looks amazing
Also somehow chojirou dying was the best character growth he had in the anime as episode 1 to 7 are basically his story
Negative for me is how they used the exact same scenes for the original captains as it should have been just once and have juha Bach talk over how crazy they were. Dropped the enjoyment of the episode a bit for me.
But the fight with Ichigo was incredible and seeing shaz was hilarious considering they already erased the two useless shinigami and fake aizen who told a boring version of how war works when the Quincy do it better.
This is nice. Brings back memories of the old manga reviews
Kira cleaning up the trash in Soul Society like the GOAT he is while everyone else faceplants into rocks in the Soul Palace.
Oh shit a Quincy with the Hogyoku is too dangerous especially if someone like Ywhach obtained it
I rewatched the very beginning of Bleach, ep 1-5, then jumped to TYBW ep 7. It seems this ep gives a nudge to those episodes. Quincy powers reawaken like his Soul Reaper powers. I loved it.
Also, Byakuya humbling himself like Renji did when he asked for Ichigo to save Rukia was another noticed moment.
I appreciate the focus on those big tatas, i missed them on my 1st watch. Thank you tekking
I like to think that had Byakuya had not had his Bankai stolen, he would've died. But because his spirit wasn't in his sword when it disintegrated, it didn't really do anything.
i have been waiting so long for this........ masterfully done keep it up
Tbh, the extra scene with Aizen in the anime makes it a lot clearer when Ywhach was actually tricked by Aizen.
Very important information about the "ta-tas". Think we might need a whole discussion episode on the subject
Yhwach literally just hit Ichigo with the "Yes Chad" meme lol
16:53 I didnt even think chojiro couldve painted that
I think the final poem seems to be from Kukkaku Shiba especially since the poem references fireworks and it’s imagery
13:33 Wow, I really did miss that. Thanks for the breakdown.
Robert accutrone: Carry’s briefcase
Tekking: “he must be a weatherman” 😂💀
that made me laugh so hard
Oh thank God Tekking was there to point out the things I miss, really truly, thank God. 😭
I think tommo called the original gotei being in the episode but I’m pretty sure everyone was surprised by just HOW MUCH of them we got
I really hope they do an entire manga and/or anime on the original gotei 13 now that they've shown the whole crew. Pink haired pigtails best girl btw
thanks for pointing out the big tattas, i totaly missed it when watching the ep :D
I relate to this guy, she's my favourite character as well. For reasons you stated of course
“If he can’t Getsuga out of this Tensho” XD Probs the funniest line you’ve said yet!
