    Are you able to get your hands on the Xiaomi watch 2 pro and do a review or comparison?

      I'll take a look I'm honestly not the biggest watch person. My usage is super basic

    Unfortunately the lack of Google Assistant was not ticwatch. Google and Samsung as part of their Arrangement completely left Qualcomm out of the loop and any chipset with the newest Qualcomm on wear three doesn't have native access to assistant.
    Fossill lost assistant access when they upgraded wear 3 0. I suspect one reason why the ticwatch 3 never got upgraded they had a dedicated assistant button that they didn't want to render useless.
    It sucks, but if anything I feel like Samsung and Google are giving their own where OS Partners a competitive disadvantage here and I wonder if it's even not worth a potential investigation over monopoly behavior. Juan bagnell pointed this dynamic out to me first and I think he has a point.
    The Google and Samsung partnership with wear 3 has put fossil and movboi and a huge disadvantage and because of corporate ndas they really can't even come out and explain that it's not their fault.
    It's especially strange now that we know Google is abandoning their relationship with Samsung for silicon and moving to Qualcomm for their next pixel watch and in 2025 for the tensor chipa

    Thanks for the review. How can I get a watch face similar to yours?

      I had to sideload them if I'm not mistaken. If you Google "download Pixel watch faces" it should come up

    Yeah if a company is not behind their product then there is no way I'm buying it without getting a update to wear OS 4 or later after promising. I think I'll look at Garmin ones.

    Well I bought one and have a question. I am getting 23 hours of battery life. I'm not using essential mode at night, not using sleep tracking not using health, not using heart rate, not using lift to wake. I am returning it tomorrow and getting a new one as I suspect it's defective. Does battery life improve a lot over time or did you have great battery life from day one? What percentage does it drop per hour?

    • @IkesTechTalk
      @IkesTechTalk  Рік тому +1

      23 is way to low. You definitely should be using essential Mode overnight if you aren't going to charge it. Pretty much the main feature of the watch. Other than that your set up seems pretty similar to mine. I drop maybe a percent or two at the most an hour. I'm actually working on a battery only video now because I got the same question should be up in about a week or so

      @@IkesTechTalk thanks. I appreciate it. I contacted Mobvoi and they wanted me to do a warranty claim but I will just buy and return. They did suspect it was defective. I even disabled the tic programs as well and it was slow.

    • @67micber
      @67micber Рік тому +1

      Sorry it was still about 4-5% each hour

    • @IkesTechTalk
      @IkesTechTalk  Рік тому +1

      Yea that seems a bit high to me. I also turn off WiFi if I'm not downloading any apps. Have you activated USB debugging to sideload by any chance. If you accidentally left that on it will drain your battery as well

      @@IkesTechTalk I did have adb turned on and did turn it off as I am aware of that as well. I will be creating a video on how to flash the firmware for a galaxy 4 classic watch since it was my previous watch that started to suddenly drain. I'm getting 15 hours even after flashing it. I hope the ticwatch battery is large enough.

    Bruh I can’t wait to get mine. I am worried it won’t be pixel Watch smooth but I miss 5 day battery. That’s how many days I was pushing out my TicWatch 3 Pro Ultra with essential mode

    Can you change the LCD battery saving screen for another LCD battery saving screen? Thanks.

      Not necessarily a whole other screen but as you turn the dial it shows other info

    Google did Mobvoi and Fossil dirty for giving Samsung first dibs at the assistant and wear os for them to come back. And I have a Galaxy watch, it's crazy

  • @67micber

    What about notifications? I was told that if you have the essential mode you don't get notifications. How do you save battery and still have notifications? I need security notifications and alarm/calls available at night. Can it?

    • @IkesTechTalk
      @IkesTechTalk  Рік тому +1

      Essential mode, in the way I'm describing it isn't for you to use all the time. More so over night where you don't need to get notifications. Not sure about your use case but typically with using essential mode only at night when I was asleep. I was getting into the 5th day regularly

    • @67micber
      @67micber Рік тому +1

      @@IkesTechTalk I was curious as it showed you using the essential display and rotating your wrist then it showed the LCD underneath now primary. What is this mode and do you buzz for notifications? I work in IT and want to save some battery but also need to be able to be woken up if the servers have issues.

    • @IkesTechTalk
      @IkesTechTalk  Рік тому +1

      Gotcha let me break it down. So essential mode is a feature built around the essential display. Essential display is what you're seeing in the video with the low powered display. That is always active but, like you said, when you get a notification, you get the normal OLED screen and wear os. Now essential mode pretty much turns off the OLED portion and only has the low power display running to save more juice. You don't get notifications at this time so it's better suited for like when you're going to bed or something. But the dual display tech is always active. You even set it up to leave the essential display when you raise your wrist. I just preferred to have the low powered display running until I get a notification or need to actively check my watch for something. Hope this helps

    • @67micber
      @67micber Рік тому +1

      @@IkesTechTalk yes it does. Subscribed. So during that time when both screens are running if a notification hits (no delay, right?) It switches to OLED and shows it. When in this hybrid mode, since it is not showing the OLED it saves battery since it is blacked out but awake. I wonder how long that battery lasts in hybrid mode then. Also I have a galaxy 4 classic that will not last over 12 hours due to a half an update applied and needs fixed but out of warranty. It's a piece of junk. I cannot recommend it since this has happened twice. I hope this ticwatch is quality. Not caring about updates on a watch except the one for better haptics to wake me

    • @IkesTechTalk
      @IkesTechTalk  Рік тому +1

      So try not to think of the dual display as a "hybrid mode" it's just how mobvoi envisioned you to use the watch. It's basically a way lower powered always on display. And you're correct no delays you get your haptic vibration and when you raise your wrist it turns off the lower powered display and turns on your OLED display so you can interact with the notification
