Pothole Pro in action in Ickford

Many constituents have raised with me the sheer number of potholes across our roads, particularly since the weather conditions last winter made them so much worse. I have been constantly raising this with Buckinghamshire Council - and their new highways contract, which came into force in April is working well. This morning I joined Cllr Steve Broadbent to see one of the major innovations in person - the use of JCB's Pothole Pro machine, where we saw a stretch of road in Ickford repaired in under an hour. This machine has been working across north Buckinghamshire for a couple of months - and whilst it will still take a long time to get everything fixed (and the row with HS2 continues over how they fix the roads they have broken), I am hugely impressed with the Pothole Pro team in the way they are getting around so many local roads. Of course I will continue to press the Council to go as fast as they can to fix more roads, and press for full resurfacing and surface treatments where required, but this is a huge step forward.
