Paul was very reluctant as a peace advocate to do this concerts as he and Pink Floyds Roger Waters shares the same views on the current conflict. Breaking The Silence and Combatants For Peace encouraged him to do the concerts.

Why were The Beatles banned in Israel?

the government of 1966 thought it would "corrupt the youth" but the public believes there is some other reason which has never been disclosed.

Beatlesbible: "At the time, the use of large amounts of foreign currency to pay for The Beatles’ performance would have required government approval. However, it has also been claimed that the organisers lacked the required funds to stage the event anyway, forcing its cancellation even if the access to foreign currency had been approved.
The interdepartmental committee for authorising the importation of foreign artists refused The Beatles entry to Israel. The decision was approved in the committee’s resolution 691, which reads: “Resolved: Not to allow the request for fear that the performances by the Beatles are liable to have a negative influence on the youth.”
There is no musical or artistic experience here, but a sensual display that arouses feelings of aggression replete with sexual stimuli.
      Dr Hanoch Rinot, 1965
Former director general of the Israeli education ministry
The promoters appealed against the decision, so the committee launched a global inquiry into the group and their music. The committee concluded, in resolution 709, that it would refuse entry because “the band has no artistic merit” and its performances “cause hysteria and mass disorder among young people”.

Oh, I have some terrible news to tell you. John Lennon was actually a Zionist. You don't believe me? Search for John Lennon's "Oath To Jerusalem", where he sings a Zionist love song for Jerusalem in... HEBREW!

Roger Waters visited the Palestinian people and he was truly moved by their plight and was highly critical of the Israeli genocide being committed there.

Waters' show in Israel sucked. McCartney, on the other hand, did a fantastic show. The Beatles are much more popular in Israel than Pink Floyd.

Yeah how dare he make his fans happy they should be ashamed of themselves for being born in that country. You are delusional. The Palestinians have kept most of the land they’ve settled in prior to 1948, and only lost it after it due to their constant rejections of UN offers because they didn’t want any Jews living next to them.
Anyways, Paul was in Palestinian territory to promote peace. If he would perform in a Palestinian city no Israeli could go, any Palestinian who wanted to could have went to his concert in Tel Aviv.

promote peace by saying he s for both sides .. loll .. the opressed and opressor .. a man rapes a woman and he would say i m with them both .. let me laugh ! roger watters makes a huge work trying to alert santana, sinead o connor and a huge list of celebrities... in order to boycott ..he made a song called "palestine".. how many of the celebrities cancelled their performances when they knew the reality.. and when you say "after it due to their constant rejections of UN offers because they didn’t want any Jews living next to them." ... don t be sarcastic please .. anyone would have rejected the propostion that would allow someone coming in your own land against you will, and fighting you then impose you his presence ... that was the normal thing to do .. .. i lost him .. and sharon stone also praising israel..and de de niro .. anyway

The 1948 UN peace offering not only gave the Palestinians a country and legal rights for the land (something they never had) but also barely took any land they’ve settled in. The offering gave the Jews the empty desert and lands remaining in the area, but the Palestinians didn’t want to share any. Just so you’d know, prior to 1948 there were about 1 million Palestinians living in the land, settling mostly in the West Bank, compare that to today’s 7 million Jews who aren’t in the West Bank. You’re so blind, “participating to their economy”? Are you retarded? These are regular civilians who would like to see an artist they like perform live, politics aside. You obviously don’t care one bit for Paul McCartney and care for the Palestinians way too much.

they had the right to say no and they did right .. u can t use it as an argument to blame people for having refuses that proposition ... people standing for the dignity of the opressed are boycotting economically and culturally etc the opressor .. and paul mc cartney stands for both sides .. the opressed and the opressor .. you make me say what i already said .. bro .. if you don t agree the boycott that many celebrities are making against israel ...and if you re confortably with paul mc cartney who says he s with bose sides .. your choice ! ua-cam.com/video/oiKHj7pKQJQ/v-deo.html
