Thank you Janixa for the quick swatching session. I like these just because I happen to like Jellies. Pet peeve: they are $13.00 a pop which is way too much for a mainstream polish! I think I'll hold off.

It's cheaper than cirque jellies if you look at price by volume!

@@naillacquertherapyI have Essie Polishes, but no Jellies. I'd so buy them if they weren't $13.

Yeah, all the jellies/sheers I own are discount Orly or random brands from the dollar store.

The black reminds me of black tights! Could do some lace or a cute bow. Great for Jelly sandwiches.
I think the black and the white jelly are my favorites. The apricot is cute too, but I have something like it.

I like the black as well. I wouldn’t want it to be total coverage though. The apricot is my fav.

Black jellies are good as bases for darker polishes or magnetics

Happy to see more jellies from Essie! I loved their Glazed Days collection from some years ago, and really wished they'd bring that one back. It was so vibrant and fun. I liked a lot of these (saw a few Cirque dupes in this line-up...) with Orchid, Cactus, and Blush being my favorites. Really looking forward to seeing you swatch the effect toppers, I'm excited about those ☺

Yes!! The Ink jelly is exactly what I need for nail art, the orly black jelly ended up being too opaque for what I needed. I’m so happy because I couldn’t recreate the look I wanted unless I used gel and I can’t commit to gel 😂 thank you for sharing!

I was hoping someone would review those when I saw them pop up in a stockists' webshop! The most important thing about jellies is that they are even and not patchy to really have that perfect sheer wash you can layer with other colors or special effect toppers for a jelly sandwich look. They also can't be too opaque otherwise it's more of a crelly and you can't really use them for nail art with sandwiching.
Arctic Jelly looks great! I've been looking for a good pure white jelly since I only have Cirque's Linen which is more beige.

The ink jelly is my favorite. I'd use it so much around Halloween and New Years. Imagine sandwiching a few stamped ghosts and bat's on each layer (or spiders and webs or fireworks), it'd really add to the illusion of depth 👻.

First-look how gorgeous your skin looks! You are so pretty!❤
Blush Jelly (but it’s not sheer enough for me), Ink Jelly (I really love this one!) Arctic Jelly, Orchid Jelly (best in one coat) Buttercup (two coats max for me), Sky Jelly, Cactus Jelly and Apricot Jelly are my favorites.
The Ink Jelly is my absolute favorite 😂
Thank you so much for your beautiful swatches 💃🏿

I’m not sure what Essie was thinking with the ink jelly - they should have named it nail infection 🤦🏻‍♀️ ew lol. Maybe good for nail art but not sure for what else. Thank you for this video bc I love jelly polishes so I was curious about these. But would love to see a swatch as opposed to paying for an overpriced polish just to find out what it looks like. Curious about their other new ones too!

Cirque's are 12.50 for 11ml, so 13 for 13.5ml is just a bit cheaper. The formulas look nice, but most are more of a milky jelly, not a true transparent jelly, I think? I am pleased to see this video because I got into nail polish late last year, but I've only tried jellies a couple weeks ago (a few from Cirque). After trying many different formulas for months, I think I finally found what I love-- juicy squishy color sandwiched with glitters like bright jewels 💎 😊 So fun. So I'm glad to learn that a mainstream brand does jelly formula, but is it available in brick and mortar stores? I like Orchid and Sky

I love myself some great jellies, and the purple and green polishes are so my jam! But at $13.00 a bottle, no thank you. I expect to pay that for great, hand-crafted indie polishes made with higher-quality ingredients, but not for mainstream brands. I get that there's a price bump when shopping at Ulta, but Essie's decision to move away from professional nail suppliers to exclusive deals with mostly Ulta and some at Target has kinda turned me away from the brand.
