  • On 22nd January 2024, Bhaarat and Bhaaratwasis celebrated the homecoming of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, a momentous day in Indian history. The long-awaited day drew many bhakts, eager to visit holy Ram Janmabhoomi. Our heartfelt gratitude to Swami Swatmanandaji who had organized this 2-day trip to Ayodhya for 41 of us, departing on 3rd June. He had meticulously planned an extensive itinerary, covering all revered and historically significant places close by. He led us in japa and chanting stotrams and Ramayana verses at each site, enriching our experience with spiritual depth.
Upon our night arrival, we had satsang with Swamiji. He spoke on mahatmaya of Shri Ram’s birthplace. At 2:30 am, we set out for the stunning Shri Ram Mandir to attend the 4 am Mangal Aarti. As the curtains opened, we were blessed with the divine darshan of the 5-year-old Ram Lalla, whose innocent yet mischievous and glowing form captivated us.
    Our visits included:
    * Hanuman Gadhi - A fortress where Hanumanji was stationed by Shri Ram to protect Ayodhya
    * Kanak Mahal - A palace gifted to Sitaji by mother Kaikeyi at the time of her wedding
    * Dasharath Bhavan - Residence of Dasharathji
    * Putra Prapti Yagna Shala - Where Dasharathji performed Kameshti Yagna
    * Khade Hanuman Temple - Where Hanumanji revealed Shri Ram and Sitaji in his heart
    * Sita ki Rasoi - Sitaji’s kitchen
    * Nandigram - Where Bharatji lived in a cave, placing
Shri Ram’s padukas on a throne while governing Ayodhya Bharat-Hanuman and Ram-Bharat Milaap site - thus marking their significant meetings
    * Bharat Kund - Lotus pond where Bharatji bathed
    * Surya Kund - Where Surya Dev stayed for a month to witness Shri Ram’s birth. The kund is also associated with the boon Shri Ram gave to Chandra Dev, that his name would be taken with Ram, i.e. Ramchandra.
At the ghats of Sarayu River, we witnessed the Sarayu Aarti, remembering how Shri Ram took Jal Samadhi here. On the third day, we performed pujas for Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Pujya Gurudev at the river banks, followed by a fun boat ride and Sarayu dips with chants and sankalpas. We collected Sarayu water for abhishek at the Nageshwar Temple.
    Our itinerary also included:
    * Kale Ram Temple - Housing black stone Ram Darbar idols
    from King Vikramaditya’s time
    * Gore Ram Temple - Featuring fair-skinned idols, due to
Sitaji’s sisters’ request at the time of her swayamwar
    * Karya Shala - The workplace where pillars and other construction structures for the temple were being
prepared earlier and are being chiselled even now. It also has a brief history of the atrocities of the invaders and the background of how the temple was destroyed and a mosque was built. It is painful, spine-chilling history.
On 5th June, our journey concluded, leaving us with cherished memories and the divine image of Ram Lalla forever etched in our hearts.
