The green rice color come from pandan leaf. There is also another popular Malay dish called Nasi Kerabu where the rice is blue, the blue color was from flower ⚘

@@MelanieGuintuWonderful. The nasi lemak looked so good. Normally, it's white, the green color probably comes from the essence of pandan leaf. Usually a twisted pandan leaf is used to make rice dishes more aromatic. The pandan leaf essence with its green color is normally used for the local Malaysian desserts. 😀

@@MelanieGuintuWonderful. Besides green in color, you can sometimes see nasi lemak in blue, from the butterfly pea flower, some Nyonya Cafes like it blue. Have a great weekend. 😀

Green on the rice is coloring. Possibly from pandan leaf. Standard nasi lemak rice color is white.

@@MelanieGuintu Another example of it is Nasi Kerabu. It is blue or yellow. This one is herbal and from east malaysia.

That bright green colour is definitely not original pandan leaf ...too much of pandan leaf will make your rice bitter....

The rice is just too green, nearly turned dark green. Should be very light & clear green. Thats Peranakan (Baba Nyonya) style of nasi lemak prepared with coconut milk & Pandan leaves as colorings.
