Cameron Highlands is the name of the hilly region. It has a number of small towns, notably Ringlet, Tanah Rata, Brinchang and Kuala Terla. Tanah Rata and Brinchang are in thevtouristy area. So when recomending the restarant you visited, it is necessary to state the name of the town for convenience.

Welcome to the food capital! Try Ali Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang (Nasi Lemak with content of your choosing packed in Banana Leaf), 888 Hokkien Mee (Its Prawn noodles, Penang calls it Hokkien mee instead), Hameed Pata Mee Sotong, Penang Famous Samosa, Penang Road Famous Laksa, Chong Charcoal Seafood Char Kuey Teow (Go for duck egg. The best for me), Restoran Ramzan for indian cuisine and rare duck curry, Duck Blood Curry Mee, Aunty Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery for Peranakan Nyonya cuisine. Nasi Kandar (indian mixed rice) is big in Penang as well. Try Hameediyah and Deens Maju. Most of the Penang food is spicy. Go for wanton noodles, hokkien mee (black version), cantonese style noodles, chicken rice, pau (chinese white bun), glutinous chicken rice for non spicy options.

Expensive price in Cameron Highlands

The rice is just too green, nearly turned dark green. Should be very light & clear green. Thats Peranakan (Baba Nyonya) style of nasi lemak prepared with coconut milk & Pandan leaves as colorings.

The green rice color come from pandan leaf. There is also another popular Malay dish called Nasi Kerabu where the rice is blue, the blue color was from flower ⚘

Green on the rice is coloring. Possibly from pandan leaf. Standard nasi lemak rice color is white.

the pine trees are the origins of sub tropical pine trees which are available in the highlands.. This Tanah Rata = Highland Valley of Cameron, There are hundreds of Vagetable Farms higher at Brinchang to Kampung Raja..

You don't need any sauce to enjoy banana roti....bcoz it is a sweet dessert on its own

Jungle in Malaysia in general is pretty thick and you can easily got lost..also mossy forest is one of a kind ..you don't find it anywhere else in Malaysia...definitely a treasure to our jungle...that's why you need permit and guide to go to the top of the mountain

This video shots during Ramadhan? Last year? There are many routes for hiking in Cameron Highlands but if you want to hike spot like mountain Brinchang its not easy hike, more than 2000 metres, need permit for safety reason, people do get lost.

Do visit St Micheal church, oldest church in ipoh if you go to ipoh. The grave of sybil kagiathsu is there in the graveyard next to the church. She's a ww2 hero and the only female Malaysian to get the British medal of honour

Do visit the convent school, one of the first buildings in Cameron highland at tanah rata

There are other places to eat.. and the term slow is relative. Besides, you've only been there once. Judgy! Americans?
