You talked me into it I'm buying one! I'm with you I spend hours cranking on the same little manual tomato press dang near threw out my shoulder. Thank you for the video!
Sorry for the delay, UA-cam wasn't showing the replies held for review. I boil and press bell peppers and sometimes hotter peppers to add to my spaghetti sauce. Gives the sauce a nice zing.
Excellent video. I watched your video and then when my hubby came home we watched it together. You have convinced me this is the mill I will purchase. I love that all the gadgets come with it, no need to purchase an accessory kit. Thank you so much.
My husband just got one of these the other day, after using the manual one ( same red one you had) my arthritis couldn't tolerate it, and as you said is sometimes doesn't stick, pushing and turning at same time, nope not for me. I can't wait to try this, your video answered all my questions, thank you.
I am breaking mine out this weekend. I have a bunch of tomatoes in the freezer. After freezing, the tomato peel comes off just like boiling and makes it even easier to strain. Happy Gardening!
I was concerned about the noise but I appreciate that you mentioned it's not as noisy as a blender but - I might get the hand crank one because my blender doesn't need to run that long either. Thank you for this video.
I love mine! I cut up tomatoes in big chunks then heat them and cook for a while. I strain out the juice as they are cooking. I dip and strain juice in a separate pot for tomatoes juice. No waste. Then put the tomatoes through the machine. The sauce is thick because of the pre dipping. Then can.
Hey Chief. Came across your channel while searching for reviews on this strainer. We have a tomatoe/pepper garden in the back yard. Glad to find your channel. I'm a squid as well. Ships company CV-67. Good luck to you.
Make sure you watch the motor area. After about 5 times using it the juice was getting into the motor area. We tried several was to get it cleaned. Then I seen nats flying around it and then it had to go back. Good luck with that.
Fine. I'm getting one, too 🤣 I've spent far too much time using a hand mill like the first one that you showed in your video. As much as the sauce tasted awesome way better than anything store-bought even the high grade ones, it's simply wasn't worth all the work and the soreness that followed. This thing also has other features to even make salsa, which is something I've wanted to try but never felt like chopping and dicing and doing all that other garbage so this will do it for me yay!
Yes I have put peppers in. You have to boil for 5 minutes or bake them for 20 at 350 to soften the skin. I just boil. If not, you will be cleaning the strainer a lot. Happy Gardening!
I had to do that all the time with my old hand crank ones. The mash left over from this is pretty dry. I even put some of my pepper mash on a cookie sheet and dried it for pizza toppings. :)
I love it. Made around 30 jars of spaghetti sauce. When I made hot sauce out of my peppers, it left me with a dry mash of seeds that I dried for pizza flavorings. Only suggestion is for bell peppers, boil them for a few minutes.

Glad to help. Don't forger to give peppers a quick boil. They tend to jam it up a little with their harder skin. Happy Gardening!
@@CMooreStarts what would you use the pepper in the press for? Pepper juice/pepper jelly?

That is awesome! I have been using mine multiple times a year. Happy Gardening!
I could never figure out where the front ring nut was. Thank you for identifying that that little piece was an extra gear!
No problem. Happy Gardening!

Thank You! My husband purchased one of these for me a few months ago. My tomatoes are just starting to ripen. I appreciate the demonstration.
Glad I could help! Just remember if you want to press peppers, make sure to boil them for a couple minutes to get the skin softer. Happy Gardening!

Glad it was helpful! Happy Gardening!
I just watched, thank you! I’ve got mine going now and I’m in love with this. Nice sauce and so much easier!
I am just waiting for my first harvest of the year to start mine up again. Happy straining!

Same thing happened to me. Also I had problems with the peels jamming up the auger and not running out the tube end.

In my back yard in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Happy Gardening!
Should I blanch the tomatoes first? Making salsa
I have only had to blanch peppers. Tomatoes do fine without blanching.
Can you blanch if you prefer?
Have you put any peppers in the strainer?

Have you tested the Cirillo?
No I have not. If you get one, please let me know how it does.
Thanks but now I have to order one for my Wife 🙂
Just used mine again last week.
