Something I've noticed about the dragons is that Fast Travel jumps them along their routes. Could this be manipulated to find them easily, or do they just get jumped to a section of their path that's deliberately far from the player? EDIT: Also, following this guide and the power 194 weapon guide, you can get a Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore and make a completely legit 208 power weapon. The strongest weapon without glitches. Though this would become 416 on the breaking hit, since breaking a weapon does double damage, and a crit would do double damage again, so it's an 832 damage weapon, if you break it on a crit. EDIT 2: Something else I noticed is that BOTW and TOTK are set in a completely new timeline, rather than the OOT Adult timeline. This timeline does closely follow OOT, only, it has no Hero of Time (which makes the armour sets weird). There are likely other differences.
BotW and TotK take place so far into the future that ALL of the other Zelda games have "faded into legend" (there was a Zora slab in BotW that explicitly talked about Princess Ruto from OoT, who was said to have existed even before the original Calamity and the creation of the Divine Beasts, so from just this we can assume that BotW takes place 10,000 years AFTER the last Zelda game(s) in the timeline before BotW's release). There are also references to every other Zelda game in BotW, so I'm guessing the three timelines somehow merged into one, hence why things from each of the three timelines are able to exist within the same game (the Great Gerudo Skeleton is the Windfish from Link's Awakening, from the Fallen Timeline; there's Lake Lulu and Lake Mikau north of Zora's Domain, and the statue of Darmani in Goron City, from Majora's Mask in the Child Timeline; Vah Medoh is named after Medli from The Wind Waker in the Adult TImeline, as well as the existence of the Rito and the description for Rock Salt mentioning an ancient sea; plus certain DLC items being things straight from other Zelda games, like Zant's Helmet, the Island Lobster Shirt, and Ravio's Hood)
The number doesn't change but if you get a weapon down to last hit and then use it exclusively for lynel backstabbing it'll do double damage and last forever, and it stacks with breaking point for infinite durability 832 damage.
You... don't know what you're talking about. The dragons don't move when you warp - I have warped in order to get closer to them multiple times when I saw them near a shrine. Also, the timeline thing? You have *_no clue_* what you're on about.
I got that weapon lol, but I’m pretty sure you can make a higher dps weapon using molduga weapon and armor with bone attack up, though it will show a smaller number.
@@Sarah_H Except the "somehow merged" part doesn't have any evidence to support it. Plus, given how the items from other games have no impact or connection to BoTW's and ToTK's storylines, you can just as easily say they are just out-of-world references. Plus 1 of the great skeletons matches none of the games. And if the timelines merged, there'd be a lot of conflict. Such as the master swords, the triforces, multiple incarnations of demise's hatred existing at once, the 4 sword, vaati, etc. There are more problems with the combined timeline theory than a new timeline. Also, it's pretty likely that Nintendo is using a new timeline since the previous one was confusing. Also, there are events in ToTK's flashback that occur at the same time OoT would take place.

Awesome vid. Not so sure about having to break a decayed weapon before running across the pristine ones. I've come across 2 swords I know I've never seen before. Though they may be an exception to the rule, because of specificity. One was Biggoron's sword. The other was a sword that had a gloom effect, not sure of the name. Love all the videos. Keep it up
Those are exceptions. Biggoron's sword is obtained from a specific treasure chest in the Depths, after which you can buy more Biggoron Swords by trading Poes to the Bargainer Statues. As for the Gloom Sword, those are dropped by defeating a Phantom Ganon, which appears after defeating Gloom Hands. Note that Phantom Ganons can appear wielding Gloom Swords (1-handed), Gloom Clubs (2-handed), and Gloom Spears.
@@CalvinCopyrightbut I think he is correct that there are some weapons you can receive pristine versions before breaking the decayed version. Like if you immediately went down to the depths before getting a chance to break a travelers we all know they’d have travelers at least. But I also know that I specifically received a pristine cobble crusher before ever breaking a decayed version. And I received a pristine Zora spear before encountering another zora spear at all. I also heard people elaborating that you have to break the UNfused version of a weapon before pristine will spawn. So much conflicting information hard to say who’s right. I think what’s going on is we all tend to naturally set these flags unintentionally to allow pristine to spawn and that’s making it difficult to figure out what each exact flag is
Korom Lightroot, I've loaded up so many Pristine Royal Guards Claymores... ( Love that wep so much. ❤) was also duplicating Silver Lynel sabre horns just a half an hour ago.

Is it actually necessary to break a decayed version of a weapon? I used the only decayed cobble crusher I found to make the boulder breaker but I still managed to find a pristine one. Although the game might count that as "breaking" it.
Unclear yet for certain. I farmed for an hour one knight for the pristine royale claymore and hadn't gotten it once even though I was pretty sure I've broken at least one previous that was fused. After going and breaking one on it's own I went back to the same knight and got it within 3 resets. Could've just been a coincidence but so far it seems about right. As I've never used or found any rito or korok weapons at all underground or above
Got the royal guard’s claymore, broke it, searched around Gerudo highlands depths area with sensor+, couldn’t find it at all, and have pretty good exp. Found other royal guard weapons though like the sword and halberd
I'm a bit confused about 100% compendium completion right now. Are there any entries you can miss, like the Kite Sheild and basic Lynel set from BotW? I remember watching a certain Nintendo guide UA-cam channel *wink wink* discussing this in BotW, and I got upset when I realized I missed some.
Hello. Breaking the weapons doesn't work for me. I've been trying to find any pristine Royal Guard and Zora Weapons. Broke them twice above ground and I even tried fusing something first before breaking. I marked so many weapon locations and thrown the weapons away. I even tried saving before seeing the shadow for about an hour to no avail. I'm done with all the sages btw and I'm not sure what I'm still missing.
I don’t think it’s required to have obtained the weapon first; I got zora spear from one of these and I haven’t found that anywhere else before (I was actually surprised about it; it happened underneath Zora domain)
Following this guide and your Strongest Weapon guide, I have a +9 pristine royal guard claymore that deals 206 damage! Just need that extra point to make it possibly THE strongest weapon in the game

@@k0nar1k55 thanks. I'm just trying to figure out if gerudo infused weapons are better for sneak attacking, due to their high damage. If eightfold weapons only deal an extra 50% damage, then they're not as good as gerudo weapons for sneak attacking.
@@grantlawrence4600 well, yes. However, if you're just using them for sneak attacks (one strike at the beginning of the battle then switching them out) they'll still last a very long time.
That's old school already. RGC+Molduga Jaw with bone proficiency armor is better. And now that people are starting to become aware of the Eightfold Blade and Puffshroom Korok weapon combo, I think that's going to be the new meta (sneak attacks had crazy multipliers in botw).
I just scoured the depths of Death Mountain looking for pristine Cobble Crushers last night (as of typing this) and couldn't find any Ghost Soldiers at all, clearly I didn't look around the rim of caldera. If I could suggest another video topic (on a video that's a week old, but relevant), how about a short-but-sweet video showing how to find and maybe some good locations of the "triple-triad Ghost Soldier" locations? I found one by one of the coliseums, but it'd be nice to know of more.
Assuming that the 8x modifier for sneakstrikes carries over to TOTK and Eightfold Longblades further amplify the bonus, fusing something strong to them might be the key to cranking out even higher damage than the bone build with the RGC.
Only the one handed eight folds do the extra bonus. But yes, potentially could do a molduga jaw fuse + bone proficiency + attack up + sneakstrike for massive damage, though that seems like it may need a sneak food buff to get close then change to attack up for the hit.
6:38 Feathered Weapons are OP, fuse a Ice Breath Lizal Horn, Naydra’s Horn, or Frost Gleeok Horn to it and you have made a weapon that is overpowered and stays that way until it breaks
Ok, I've wasted a LOT of time wondering why although I broke certain weapons they wouldn't appear in the depths... Turns out you need to reach 0 durability with them, this means that if the weapon starts glowing red and you throw it and break it that way (it had like 2 or so durability the moment you threw it) even though it technically broke the shadow soldiers WON'T HAVE IT. It's reeeeeeally specific, but in case you are like me and tried to do it that way... Don't. TLDR: spam jump attacks until it breaks "still in your hands" :')
The best Pristine weapons, IMO are under the Gerudo area. I had posted a video showing the exact location of 300 pristine weapons and their exact locations throughout the entite depths. AND, my mini map is fixed to North to make it easier for those watching.
This (weapons) has been on my back-burner ever since I got All of the Sages and I’m clearing out some other stuff. Seeing my lower number weapons has been an irk for some time and this video is just PERFECTLY timed for me.
Talk about the Gloom Sword and drops from Phantom Ganon Austin. I went around and killed Gloom Hands and fought two Phantom Gabon’s and got the Gloom Sword, Demon King Bow and the two handed club from him. I went to an Octorok and got Attack up 10 on the Sword and fused it with a Prestine Royal Guard Sword for great damage.

But the joke was on me because now, I know! ^ ^
If you get the boulder breaker made, are its stats affected by whether the cobble crusher was pristine or decayed? (Same question for the other special weapons)
I've noticed that the same pedestal gave me spears whilst yours gave one handed weapons, I guess weapon types are not guaranteed? I still managed to find a royal claymore though.

Also, there are events in ToTK's flashback that occur at the same time OoT would take place.
surprised you didnt cover just normal royal weapons. Can definitely get them down there too, accidentally came across a pristine royal sword while running around
Do you remember where it was? I've been hunting for it
@@johnwilkins6308 not exactly but it was around the korom lightroot
@@FabledEnigma Thank you so much I just found it exactly where you said! Been looking for it for a while too
Have u guys found any of the other ones?
I found a pristine royal claymore near the Herba Dark Skeleton just now.
I’ve played for 70-something hours now and just now went into the depths for the first time lol it was always so intimidating & scary to me! Thanks for the help AJ, yet again your kick ass videos are helping me have even more fun playing this amazing game!
Side note on modifiers: you can reroll them by feeding them to a rock octoroc if you get your 500th long throw royal broadsword
John: cool, I wanted a gerudo claymore
Also John five minutes later: drops it and leaves it
i find a zora spear fused with the dusk claymore to bee very powerful just throw a splash fruit on yourself before a battle. got really good range as well.
Only problem is that Rock Octoroks won't repair special weapons like Disk Claymore right? Just instantly spit it back out.
@@probably_afk They will repair them if they are fused to as the blade to a repairable weapon's handle. You just have to pay for the goron NPC in Tarrey Town, to take it apart when you are done.
@@JoshuaHardyArtyou could fuse a very terrible weapon to it and just destroy the fused item
12:18 I wasn’t expecting a Ryan George/Pitch Meeting reference haha
Hey man, you prob wont see this, but your tutorials help me a LOT keep up the good work.
I'm convinced Austin knows everything there is about TOTK.
This was eye opening. I'd been avoiding the soldiers because I kept finding the same weapons. Didn't realize you had to clear their inventory.
austin john has to be one of the best tutorial youtubers ever. i didn't know that when you first spawn a shadow soldier. its first weapon is set. i was wondering why i wasn't getting new weapons when i did the save and reset thing
And here, I thought this was all random chance on what was what. I had no clue it was based on what I'd already found and that I could actually change what the soldiers had. Mind blown, bro. Thank you for this!
Can we just appreciate how amazing this channel is! I found this when playing botw back in 2018 and now I’m back tuning in for TOTK, and hes here straight away with the handy guides! Absolutely love this man! Keep it up Austin! ❤
I don't think I can ever see a blue lyonal again so yeah I think
You can buy any compendium entries you may have missed in hateno
@@immortaliron2475but what about farming horns
@@Werkzeug-100 For enemies at least, there will ALWAYS be one of each type on the map. That' why you'll notice red bokoblins among a group of silver.
@@User-cd5bc I love how even the bosses spawn in the depths if you missed taking their picture in the temples.
my fav part about the depths is the music that plays when you enter it. It sounds so epic and ominous lol
Update: I finally got a +10 damage modifier and now it’s at 208
Austin, I’m so glad you made a video on this seeing how I made a comment on a recent video asking for clarification on ghost soldiers, and as usual, you certainly delivered! Thank you.
I love the eightfold weapons for sneak attacks since they do extra sneakstrike damage
How much extra though? I wish we had a way to see our damage
@@hebercluff1665 I believe in the botw it was around 3x normally and with the blade an additional 1.5. I might have those reverse mind you. I don't use sneak that often if I can help it
@@k0nar1k55 thanks. I'm just trying to figure out if gerudo infused weapons are better for sneak attacking, due to their high damage.
If eightfold weapons only deal an extra 50% damage, then they're not as good as gerudo weapons for sneak attacking.
@@hebercluff1665Gerudo weapons will break far more often.
Very low durability.
@@grantlawrence4600 well, yes. However, if you're just using them for sneak attacks (one strike at the beginning of the battle then switching them out) they'll still last a very long time.
If you want the modifier to change every time you load, do you already need to find the pistine weapon before finding it?
So wait, does this mean the RGC + Silver Lynel Horn combo can now be even stronger??!
Yes
That's old school already. RGC+Molduga Jaw with bone proficiency armor is better. And now that people are starting to become aware of the Eightfold Blade and Puffshroom Korok weapon combo, I think that's going to be the new meta (sneak attacks had crazy multipliers in botw).
@@gruiaolaru511 bosses can't be sneak attacked
@@gruiaolaru511 better, so long as the person also has the +3 attack food buff.
@@gruiaolaru511 What do you mean by "Puffshroom Korok"? A Korok Frond fused with a Puffshroom?
I just scoured the depths of Death Mountain looking for pristine Cobble Crushers last night (as of typing this) and couldn't find any Ghost Soldiers at all, clearly I didn't look around the rim of caldera.
If I could suggest another video topic (on a video that's a week old, but relevant), how about a short-but-sweet video showing how to find and maybe some good locations of the "triple-triad Ghost Soldier" locations? I found one by one of the coliseums, but it'd be nice to know of more.
Assuming that the 8x modifier for sneakstrikes carries over to TOTK and Eightfold Longblades further amplify the bonus, fusing something strong to them might be the key to cranking out even higher damage than the bone build with the RGC.
longblades are windcleavers now sadly
@@catalyst539 they always were windcleavers
Only the one handed eight folds do the extra bonus.
But yes, potentially could do a molduga jaw fuse + bone proficiency + attack up + sneakstrike for massive damage, though that seems like it may need a sneak food buff to get close then change to attack up for the hit.
The evil spirit armor has that set bonus and each piece is sneaky.
You could also change from sneaky armor to the radiant armor once you sneak up.
I love the Pitch Meeting references in these videos.
I've had weapons I've definitely never broken before show up in the Depths as pristine.
6:38 Feathered Weapons are OP, fuse a Ice Breath Lizal Horn, Naydra’s Horn, or Frost Gleeok Horn to it and you have made a weapon that is overpowered and stays that way until it breaks
in my game that has 106 shrines and 2 regional fixes the 2 guys in the eventide island underground always have royal guard or royal weapons
10:18 you can hear the song that kass played in the background
3:14 or you could just use ultra hand to remove it if ur inventory is full
Thanks,
Definitely will look for the royals guard swords
You can actually get a royal guards claymore and get a 208 damage weapon if it almost breaks so you can melt through lynels!
The best Pristine weapons, IMO are under the Gerudo area. I had posted a video showing the exact location of 300 pristine weapons and their exact locations throughout the entite depths.
AND, my mini map is fixed to North to make it easier for those watching.
I was literally on my way to your channel with this in mind specifically. Great timing. Thank you very much
This (weapons) has been on my back-burner ever since I got All of the Sages and I’m clearing out some other stuff.
This sounds stupid, but do you have to throw the weapons? Or can you keep them and it’ll still have the same effect?
Rito weapons with an ice element fused to them are great imo.
I wish the pristine weapons had the damage they had in botw
Botw is better anyway. It has wolf link.
I do too but imagine how broken pristine royal/roayal guard weapons + lynel parts would be if they were still as strong
I always follow your stamping system almost all the time.
I got a Royal Claymore in the depths yesterday. I mark all their locations by a sword.
Pristine Royal broadswords have decent durability 35 (60 fused) and good damage output, definitely my favorite one-handed weapon.
I want to see a pristine royal guard claymore/silver lynel horn last hit damage on a lynel. This dude out here gaming
Damn I thought getting these weapons from the amiibos was a pain in the ass. Your method is a lot more work.
some reviews say the map is the same... Not really there's chasms, the sky and depths as well. not sure about the shrine locations if they have changed.
First
Putting your fan blades side by side on your mini plane works best
Really helpful video! Do you know if the save/reload trick to get different attributes still works? Thanks to your video I finally found a royal guard claymore but every time I reload and pick it up it has the same attribute, which is to say NO attribute. 😭
Oh my word, thanks! I was straight up snubbing and hard-ignoring those 'pathetic' Travellers 'Statues' (after funnily enough being so happy seeing one in my initial few travels down in the Depths) because I had no real idea why the weapons were so awful!
But the joke was on me because now, I know! ^ ^
If you get the boulder breaker made, are its stats affected by whether the cobble crusher was pristine or decayed? (Same question for the other special weapons)
Afaik no, you should be safe. Worst case scenario you can reload. I remember being shocked that you can use decayed versions from the sources I saw
Was waiting for these for so long
I've noticed that the same pedestal gave me spears whilst yours gave one handed weapons, I guess weapon types are not guaranteed? I still managed to find a royal claymore though.
3:55 I like to add stamps on thevmap. But who, like me, thinks stamps should be more diversified in order to be more explicit ?
I instantly found a pristine royal Guard claymore when you told me the location for the royal guard weapons
Hey your videos are literally helping so much in an otherwise very overwhelming game! One question though the modifiers don't seem to work for me... everytime it's a normal weapon with no mod 8:38
Royal Guard Claymore can be found under Eventide island in the SW corner.
Austin, your so good at the videos, your talent for showing how us top line. Thank you for all your hard work. Your the best. God bless you.
All i can say is. They need to up the amount of markers here soon, I'm about to run out. 300 just isn't enough.
I was able to find a pristine Royal guards claymore underneath Eventide island, so I at least know they can spawn there.
2 places I know where have ALWAYS given me boomerangs and Giant Boomerangs are Under the Maritta Exchange Ruins and Underneath East Castle Town if anyone is curious
Thank you so much, now I can fill my loadout with INSANE weapons!
I've been looking for the r g claymore for so long
Maybe this is a dumb question but do you need to break it without anything attached to it? Or can you attach stuff to it, break the weapon and the weapon still spawn in the depths? Thanks!
Got the pristine royal guard claymore first time with the one you got it from, thanks austin😊
Been waiting for this one
thank you this helped me so much🙏🙏
Aaaaand I've just learned that decayed and pristine versions of the same weapon count as different entries in the compendium! Time to check which ones I ignored cuz I thought they wouldn't count 😬
Also time to break some royal guard weapons I've been stockpiling to spawn their pristine versions
I don’t think it’s random because every place you went to get a specific sword. I went there as well and got the exact same thing as you! 😅
For regular gameplay get the Gerudo weapons (Zora if you can get wet), for lynel farming, get Royal Guard weapons. Everything else is based on taste.
You prefer Gerudo over Captain 4 Zonaite weapons?
@@Zasben For regular play yea. The Zonite wepons are great when fusing to Zonite parts though. I have a might zonite sword fused to a construct 3 core. It is pretty good.
Eightfold Blade + Puffshroom Forest Dweller weapons are also a crazy good and reliable combo.

Zora spears are good, but what I really want is royal halberds. Flurry Rush Tiem
You can also get pristine weapons from the amiibo cards :)
Dude thank you! Was looking for the eightfold for hours then found it same place I did!
Do the royal weapons in the castle respawn? Since you need to destroy the decayed version to get the pristine version, I would be disappointed to not be able to have a good weapon in between the time of destroying the decayed version and finding the better one.
Does making a legendary weapon(ie scimitar of the seven) from a pristine weapon make it stronger?
Nope. It doesn't.
I regularly get pristine weapons from my amibo card deck scans, all kinds except no royal guard weapons. I gotta go find those.
Does the weapon change every blood moon, or is it locked in forever once the statue spawns in
I think they change because I had one marked for a Cobble Crusher but when I went there again it was something else.
