I enjoyed the keys you explained in the video. I think it correlates with sports teams. Working with each other to win. Focused on working together relying on each other throughout the game. Working hard to become a starter.
You hit the nail on the head. Ask any coach if they'd rather than a group of stars who can't work as a team or a team of very good players who know how to come together, and they'll choose the latter every time. Bring the team together and you'll be a starter.
I've led a number of teams and I do believe that a key ingredient in moving from Norming to Performing is the ability to "play together." Teams that spend non-working hours together doing fun stuff away from work tend to work better together and look after each other, making collaboration effortless and productivity soar.
I completely agree that having a good work envirnment where your team is working together and they like each other, increases productivity and helps people to grow.
This video is interesting, but how isolated does the team need to be? I personally would want the team to be able to spend some time with their families, friends and on their own. Granted, giving them a schedule to attend to and regularly asking them how their doing could help give some isolation, but I don't think I'd want them to have to all be with the same people all the time until they finish the project, especially since some projects could take a long time. I respect your opinion, though.
I have a great performing team because we work as a team and we always help our team mate when we get done with what we are doing, we beat our goal everyday by the end of the shift.
Working as a professional in education I have seen the importance of working as a team to not only help achieve professional goals but to best help the students.
Maybe it’s in a different video - it would be interesting to know his thoughts on how to build a solid team Which brings me to this, “Performing teams and the things they are able to do become things of legend”. Agreed - but it has to be a solid team to begin with....
Another great video that put my real life experience in perspective and become useful. Thank you
I am a business student currently and this correlates with a lot of the things that I am learning in my classes. Well done!
Awesome! Theory is great, so learn all you can, but the magic is in using it in your growing career!

So true! When you can bring together a team of people and it actually is successful, such a great feeling!
Ain't that the truth!
It's behind the scenes that matters the most when it comes to business. Internal communication!!!
I can agree

That is a super good point! I should have included that in this video!!

I liked this video because we have conflict at my job and these will help manage it. Thank you!
Conflict is everywhere and neverending. We can't remove it at work (nor should we want to; it has benefits), we can only manage it.
I agree, teams need to feel as if they are important and valued, in order to perform at a higher level.
Wonderful videos...so much useful information.
Great information!
Very helpful remote teamwork tip! Thanks
Put them to work and crush it!
Great information, thanks!

You've nailed the Tuckman model steps!

Totally agree. We academics don't always play nice together, but when we manage we can deliver something powerful for our students.
It’s going to be interesting how we take this and apply it in our own teams
I'm looking forward to you telling me how you did this! 😀
Cool videos, you’re and awesome professor!
Being able to have a team that is able to communicate with each other is very important to accomplish their goal!
I totally agree!
Great!
Great info!! Teamwork makes the Dreamwork lol.
Indeed it does!
Managing conflict for a team is huge. When problems aren’t taken care of, teams fall apart

True, you need to have a performing team to become that think of legend!
You talk everything but the needed subject
Oh well. Can't win them all.
What's the name of the Nasa movie?
