Had to come back for my annual cry sesh. Still just as potent as the first time
Very interesting take on death. As an unconditionally loving being who knows its touch will kill -- and upon falling in love, holds out as long as possible without taking the life it has fallen in love with. I thought at first it might work better with a more refined art style, but...after watching it twice, the chibi style works well to convey the tenderness that something as haunting as death might convey through nothing but timid posture, and black, sad longing in its eyes.
I recently lost my father to a terrible accident.. and just wanted yo say you’re guys music has helped me get through a lot of hard times. This song is almost hard to listen to. It’s beautiful but every time I hear it and see this video I just wanna cry.

this is seriously one of the most beautiful videos I've come across on all of youtube,,
just the calm serenity of the music tied to this message of mourning that comes with death and the job he has to do. the way this video climbs along showing the viewer that there are some lives that death really doesn't want to take, the beauty in them, he wants to protect and shield them from harm, but as it comes to it, eventually all lives must come to an end. the way she just leaned into him, knowing that it would be the end of her pain just completely and utterly destroys me.

The video is a mixture of cute, creepy, sad, and a little warm love mixed in there.
I love this song and video paired together. Both characters have such a beautiful curiosity, innocence, and reserve for different reasons.
I'm always willing to give myself fully but through conditioning, I never expect others to give even half of what I do.
I'm not sure if i resonate more with the doe or with death sometimes.
One thing I do know is every time I open myself fully like the doe I die or like the spirit I am disappointed beyond belief wondering on hopeful but less so each time

I, however do, and they resonated with me so much - that I just had to do what I never usually do and reply. It's so very rare I ever come into contact with anyone on this higher plane of thought. I didn't get it like that. That young doe had a brush with death and ever since it has been her companion through life. In the end, when she got too old and feeble to run with her herd, she realized it was her time and peacefully passed away.
It's a beautiful tale with a good message.

It may not be as sad for the deer, but it's still very sad for the character that represents death.
He's still going to be constantly unhappy, as everything he touches will die. He had finally been able to be happy for a short while because of the deer, but he seemed to have known that it wouldn't last.
And in the end, he was right, and he lost the only friend he had.

This video came out right around the time I had my first big breakup. I was already a mess, but this video just sent me. It's beautiful in such a heatbreaking way.
I remember watching this animation when I was 10 or 9 let’s just say it was the only thing I could think about for 6 months

Maximum Love is slowly becoming one of my favourite electronic musicians but they still have alot to prove. Calling them more talented than Daft Punk is a strech. But still the fact that they're worthy of comparing to Daft Punk is something remarkable.

not rude at all. especially on a personal level since I consider Daft Punk the greatest musicians of all time. Now with that being said I cannot speak on there behalf so maybe they do not take this as a compliment bc they do not think of them in that regard. but I am 5555 percent sure they are inspired by Daft Punk. their music is very original so it doesn't sound exactly like Daft Punk but it does have that magic Daft Punk produces imo.

The Deer did live. A full long life. She was dying of old age or natural illness. She chose her last moments touching the reaper.
I've avoided this video anytime I wanna play this song because it makes me cry.
However... it's not really a bad thing in the end. The doe was ready to go. Death was the only thing able to give her peace and rest... where she would never feel pain and...who knows? Go on to another plane where she is young and lively forever. Would be kind of neat to have a sequel of a being, which gives life, meeting death and having a companionship/friendship in that manner. Maybe even the doe comes back as the "life giver". ♡
