I test drove the Avenger in July and it's the first car I've ever driven that has put a smile on my face. I loved it. Ordered one as soon as we got back. I'm just impatient for the delivery now.
@@hovercroftsorry only just seen your message. We got it in red, we got it about 7 weeks ago I think and we love it. Every time we go out in it we're reminded why we ordered it. Charge at home but only done 350 miles in it so far, so not a high mileage driver anymore.
It's great that all the different Stellantis brands are most definitely adding their own brand heritage styling to the same underpinnings - as one would hope they would, obviously. This looks great - chunky and Jeep-ish... The new Fiat 600e looks absolutely adorable... The revised Peugeot e2008 looks bold and cutting-edge... And the Vauxhall Mokka looks..... 🤔
Excellent review, and Love the Car, BUT it highlights a perfect example of how the manufacturers are trying (hard) to rip us off - "PROFIT-TAKING"! With it's cross-platform template there is no way this Summit model should come in OVER £30k - especially for your new SMUV category! High demand & Low supply is THEIR problem - it should NOT be ours!! 🤬
Wonderful review! I ordered mine (Holland), should be there early next year. A yellow Summit. Not going to lie, it is a ridiculous (?) amount of money if you think with the brain and not the ❤, but I love the looks, and I love the way it drives.
A lot has changed since the Hillman Avenger of the decades ago, I still quite like that model but most have turned to red dust following the plague of metal moth around at the time. For mainly town driving and dropping smaller bipedal offspring off at the house of learning this car makes a bundle of sense. As you mention for people less vertically challenged than us it's not so good. On longer runs with four taller adults there is a good chance that you will not be the designated driver so that's a positive thing. Personally I like it but I'll not be spending the cash anytime soon. I'll hold on a while to see how it's like after it's been out a while and we get a view of build quality (what falls off that shouldn't and what should come off that doesn't) , reliability and residuals. There is a lot of new design gone into the Avenger so we'll see. A great quick review and thanks for sharing Ginny.
I like it. I like it a lot. Outside is nothing special but it looks nice (maybe I would prefer the Moka or 2008). I am not a SUV person as I do must of my trips on motorways and long distance so I would prefer a sedan or a station but I like this one. The inside is what convinces me, love that yellow dashboard and somehow I think that the very thin horizontal screen looks better than a vertical one (ok...a Vertical might be better for GPS but this looks more pleasant and being so panoramic, it doesn't obstruct your view much). Only thing I dislike on the interior is that "concertina cover" as that will surely tear apart rapidly. All in all, if I need a car for driving in the city, I would like this one.
Guess this is based on the same platform as the DS3 E-tense I've just bought. So many similar pros and cons (small back seat space) but still prefer the look of the DS.
Thanks for clarification on the relative size of this one. I was thinking it was a Cherokee-size vehicle with Ginny standing next to it. Wookey was always useful for judging dimensions. Manos is an essential inclusion, so you don't get accused of false reporting...
Great review Ginny. Just think how good the Avenger could have been if it wasn’t stuck with a combustion platform. Who puts batteries in a transmission hump? All the packing issues would have disappeared with a proper EV skateboard
No it wouldn’t, I love that Stellantis leave room for your feet if you’re tall and you don’t have to sit with you knees around your head. Most skateboards the floor has just been raised to the level of the transmission tunnel which is uncomfortable for everyone.
Love the look of this vehicle. That being said. It needs minimum 15 more hp. Needs 4 wheel drive option. Lastly it’s 10 grand too expensive. One more thing, it needs to be brought to the states.
Good review but sad that you don’t mention that it is a ”European Jeep”, enough. Designed in Italy, built in Poland with the new Fiat 600e, with a new electric motor designed and built in France also to be used in other Stellantis models. Hats off to American Jeep for letting the Europeans go ahead with their ideas and for promising a new dual motor four wheel drive version later on for off road enthusiasts.
They had to try, Stellantis won't suffer Jeep in america much longer if they don't improve, the CEO has said as much. When 25% of the production needs repair before it arrives at dealerships for sale there is something wrong with the american products.
Grand review Thank you🌻Before most focus on any EV 's 'sticker price' they need to calculate FUTURE Cost/km to operate...compared to petrol fuel (Mx+) costs, EV's are a fraction 🌅🗽
Coming from the C3 video... So it's a little bit less cheaper inside look C3. Or considering that its look is more Jeep than Citroën, the C3 is an even more cheaper inside look than the Avenger. I'm so waiting for the test of the R5, that, should be really fun. 😋 Edit : And I had a R5 commercial right after this video 😄😂... What was your video about already? 🤔 🤣🤪
Glad to see you did not have the brake warning issue that Matt Watson had multiple times during his review of this vehicle. It turned me off to it, but I guess it was a one off issue!
Cheap interior, nasty plastics and awful infotainment aren't. Niro and Kona are twice the car for the same price, they also have a frunk and one pedal driving. I honestly question the sanity of anyone that buys this over one of those.
Nice looking car though a bit cheap and plasticky on the inside. But £35-£40K for a pumped-up supermini is a joke. The car deserves to succeed but not at that price. Why so expensive when earlier this week the media reported that battery prices had fallen under the 'magic' $100 per kWh? Profit taking and residual value protection me thinks!
NZ just dropped the price from 70k to 50k. (£34k to £24k). It seemed to me at the time to be way over priced for what you got. I guess the introduction of ~8cent/km RUC (road user charge for EVs) in April and other brands dropping prices hit them hard. Although 28.5% suggests they may have been gouging in the first place
Avenger. AVENGER! A-V-E-N-G-E-R!!! (lots of reverb there) Sorry. No. I see a mum and her two popping off to the schoolyard for football practice. Yes, a perfect ride for that. Bad name for the car. I agree that back seat area was a bit Spartan.
You are right but I still prefer this over the Hyundai but between this and the Niro, I would get the Niro. I like the weirdness of the Niro and being a bit lower and longer I bet it will be better on a motorway (although worst to park in the city).
@@TheAllMightyGodofCod Awesome! Telling you the truth I was quite indecisive for a long time between the Niro and the Kona and sometimes I still do. I like both.
Those Jeep Avengers are way too expensive new, for what they are!😮👎😖😤 I would save myself tens of thousands of pounds, & get an used Vauxhall Mokka e, which is basically the same car underneath anyway!👍👌👏👏
Awful motorway consumption is (2.9 miles/kWh according to ua-cam.com/video/IiOBaLX7wvw/v-deo.html) and no one pedal for city driving makes this a double no, as pretty as you may find it.
Not all superheroes wear capes, they drive around in an ⚡ Jeep Avenger. It looks good but is it 36-40k good. Build quality far too much black moveable plastic little attention to the details. That said will people buy it. It's a Jeep you know they will
Easy answer: A FWD only city car is NOT a Jeep. Stellantis is a grab bag of crap and this "Jeep" will be no different. I've owned four Jeeps and still own a 1977 Wagoneer and 1955 Studebaker that uses the chassis from a 1983 Wagoneer. My dad has a 2011 Grand Cherokee that seems to have a recall every other year. The body shell of my 2001 XJ Cherokee was weak enough that the hatch would either not open or close if the body was in a slight twist. Jeep spends quite a bit of time on easter eggs so you have something to look at/for while it's broken down. It's also apparently easier to focus your effort on them instead of making the vehicle more reliable and handle better.
A "Stellantis is a grab bag of crap"? Someone doesn't know about 5008, 3008, 2008, 508, 308, 208, 500e, Astra, Grandland, Berlingo, C4 and a lot of other Stellantis cars that rank high amongst their piers. Specially the 308/Astra duo are One of the finest cars around.
@@TheAllMightyGodofCod you're joking, right? Almost every model you listed was developed by PSA before they were part of Stellantis. You might as well have included the AMC Eagle and every model that bore the Jeep or Chrysler name that were designed by Mercedes before their merger.
Oh Ginny, what HAS happened to the colour on this video?? VERY LOW specc'd for the price. Only one regen level? Other reviewers have criticised the over light steering and excessive body roll, So why does Ginny not pick up on these? Also Jeep are one of the worst in the reliability surveys.
