Normally if I hear a humming noise Specially on a new AC unit or Heat pump I know for sure that the correct voltage was not used .....so by switching from 240 volts to 208 volts or vice versa I ll install the plug where I do not hear the Humming and know will be the right Voltage for the AC or H pump. Tnks
If not sure what is the Voltage to this or any AC simply disconnect Transformer and go to option Voltage if make humming noise 99 percent is wrong Voltage. The correct Voltage should not make any humming noise unless the AC is 40 yrs old with same tran
On a 240 v to 24 v transformer most likely it ll come with a 208 V option for commercial bldg applications.

Easier than this will be using a Fieldpiece or any multimeter with a voltage check up function 🤔

Voltage Options are 240 Volts and 208....always check and see what is available to wire Accordingly
