• Heat Pump Evaporator/C...
In this video I run into a unit with a low water level in the loop field. Thankfully, there were no series issues, and the problem was easily resolved. Hope you find the troubleshooting experience interesting!

Rueben, i always learn stuff from you! You said expected minimum loop temp of 30 degrees in Minnesota. How deep buried are those horizontal loops?
I believe they are buried about 18 inches below frost line, so about 6 feet.
That was interesting. I'm in Scotland and have a ground source heat pump - coiled loop underground into my fields. Is this system a deep well bore? I'm intrigued as to why you have an open well top. Is it a sealed pipe?
I have a low pressure alarm which is preventing the system from working, but so far I can't find any leak and all pressure gauges are ok.
No, it has a loop field out under the field in this guy's sheep pasture. The well type casing thing is only about four feet tall and contains the pump and a small amount of system liquid.
If your system will not run due to a low pressure switch on the refrigeration circuit, then you likely have a refrigerant leak of some kind. Do you guys Carrier units over there too?
@@ReubenSahlstrom thanks for the reply. Not sure what a carrier unit is so can’t answer that. I’m not an engineer, just a bit technical. The engineer who visited did say the refrigerant was almost gone so he recharged it, but there wasn’t any signs of a leak so it is probably a very long standing issue.
@@PeterPrestonUK Funny you guys call them engineers over there. We call them Technicians.
If the system was nearly out of refrigerant, there must be a pretty large leak. Sometimes they lose the charge slowly over a couple years, but if they lose any they are leaking and will be low again at some point. Hopefully it's a small leak, but it really should be fixed if possible.
I grew up in Michigan but currently live in California. My parent's house had a water to air heatpump. Would that be what this unit is?
hey man, am a repair technnician based in in uganda. just wondering how long it might take me to be trobleshoot big logic works like this.
Keep learning what you can, and don't turn down opportunities to work on new equipment. The best way to learn something is to be in a situation where you have to figure it out. That's how I learned most of what I know.
Uganda? That's pretty far away! Do you know anyone who follows Jesus over there?
@@ReubenSahlstrom thanks for the advice, am 3 years in the field. lol people know Jesus and you are chatting with one
@@ssekasiedward5688 Glad to hear it! I pray that you will be an effective tool to further the Gospel and take care of technical needs! God bless!
Appriciate your sentiment.God bless
Mr Edward, what do you use in Uganda for ground source heat? Vertical wells? Buried horizontal loops of pipe?
