Dick is a good friend and just played here in Southern Oregon on Dec 17th 2010. He did an acoustical set with his son Jimmy Dale and it was an amazing show.
Never heard of this musician until recently. But, Dick Dale was the King of Surf. His music was one of a kind. I could listen and watch music videos of himself and his band Nitro.
What he's at Guitar Center and they didn't hook him up with a reverb pedal for the first song... I find it hard to believe there is no reverb pedal at Guitar Center for the King of the Surf Guitar
@@Thoracius yeap, his reverb is a one of kind Fender Reverb unit. He nicked the reverb from a Hammond organ, brought it Leo, and he made it valve powered standalone unit.
Dick Dale is probably not the musician anyone should watch to learn how to play the guitar. I'm not sure if Dick knew how to even play the guitar. He just rocked on the guitar. When Dick rocked the rock rolled.
@@Tuukkis I know what Dick achieved. It's nothing to be envious about either. The guy died in poverty and obscurity. Even Dick didn't want to be Dick. But he got up every day and rocked out anyways. Because he had to.
@@1pcfred He lived in poverty thanks to the bitchy ex wife who took everything from him. Before that, he had a mansion and dozens of animals including lions as pets. Dude is a living legend. I just wished more people knew him because he is an important piece in music history.
@@Tuukkis one thing Dick isn't anymore is living. He died a few years ago. His heyday was quite some time ago now and fame naturally fades with the passage of time.
I was at this event. RIP Dick Dale.
What a honor man
Damn that must have been amazing
Must have been amazing 🤘🎸🌊🏄🔥
I saw Dick Dale in Jacksonville, FL. back in 96 and the guy hasn't changed a bit. A true legend!
I dont know, must be cool to play a Strat like that in front of a wall of Les Pauls :)

5:30, he fines his bass player for making a mistake, gets cash on the spot, pockets it while still playing. LOL!
Damn, that's was cool
i bet that was an act. or for show. still a funny moment
The songs he is playing are Nitro and The Eliminator.
If you like Dick Dale look no further! These 12 part videos are the greatest! Thanks for sharing these with us!

He's the king, just trem picking
He brought his own reverb. It was just set at 0. You don't get a sound like that from a pedal.

still the same guitar he used.
That is the one, he get's from leo....
Black metal is Surf Rock without distortion just confirmed
Bruh
By far my favourite left handed player. I almost had to learn to play everything upside down like he does.
@SCR3AM1NGE4GL3 Dick Dale practically invented reverb. He doesn't need a pedal.
Dick Motherfucking Dale!!!! Love this man!
The man!!!
its sooo crazy i was at this a show
R.I.P Dick Dale
it was an electrical problem, and they got it fixed afterwards.
I remember watching the music video for this song as a kid in the 90’s it was during an episode of Beavis and Butthead
🙌🙌🙌🙌
That's a belt buckle.
What - no Reverb on Dick Dale's guitar ? That's like a Day without Sunshine, Clouds with no Rain, a Swamp with no Bull-Frogs ......etc.
Nettuno is Dick Dale.

Clearly you haven't got a clue what Dale had achieved in music. Better learn first by reading something. Or maybe you are just jealous.

@@1pcfred I don't know if you're just nasty in nature or just trying to be clever. I meant his legend lives on, and not even you can change that.
but only noise in this video
Terrible pony tail. Brilliant guitar
well its not like his hair would look better without the pony tail.
What a shithead thing to say
R.I.P Dick Dale
