Heyo, Goon carrier pilot in this fight: I Witnessed the warp-in of the titans and legitimately cried in awe (nerdy indeed) at the sheer genius of our FC team and Directorate. I Survived this fight and went on with that carrier to survive the war with many, many engagements. But this fight solidified my resolve for the rest of the 13 months and was the point where i invested my full trust in our org. For some additional line member perspective on the goon side, There were many times where the stress was palatable. Myself felt a lot of it during the TCAG standoff (that culminated in the G-M fight, where i lost my first dread), During the M-2's 2 month hellcamp and finally the last 2 weeks of the war. The last part was the hardest to endure due to the multidute of the final siege, We were camped into our final constellation, Ready for "The battle" that our enemy (One who we knew had the numbers advantage) was preparing to launch, days of alarmclocking just to ensure that we have that one extra body doing something. But by that point, we just needed to not choke, Our enemy has either figure out how to clean us out or... Live with us. We knew containment isn't possible when we can jump to anywhere within delve, We knew no one could live there with us being there. But the stress, knowing that today might be the day that the enemy nuts up and tries to take one of the highest fortified positions in the game. We all knew it would be a fucking bloodbath if the enemy took that chance.

You're bringing tears to my eyes man. Thank you. I recommend some of Jin'taan's videos for the geopolitcal stuff, he goes into some good detail of what goes on in this war.
It's been a long time since I played. I think when I left there were maybe a dozen titans in the game, total. Seeing that many lost in a single engagement is kind of astounding to me, knowing the sheer amount of resources even one of those requires (my corp was getting into making capital ship parts before I left). It's also really cool to see just how much more organized all this is. Rokhs were basically ignored as fleet ships when I left, since you couldn't get enough Rokh pilots in one spot to really take full advantage of the engagement range and melt things at 250k (plus lag made fleet tactics beyond calling primaries difficult). Seeing blobs of relatively identical, standard ships for a role in full fleet engagements, it's impressive how far the standard has come.
We've come a long way from some things indeed....but the lag/tidi is still there, and is very painful on a fight like this. I believe this was 7-8 hours T_T
I have never played EVE. But I have watched hours of videos like these. I wish I understood more of what’s happening. None the less, keep making these videos and I will keep watching!
While I appreciate the effort you put into this video, I have to call you out on one thing: They had enough Titans for this. It was planned for months and we have done LOTS of testing. The problem wasnt the amount of Titans, the problem was that the server literally ate the Bosons. CPP even admit that it was server failure.
There's already a big discussion on this on Reddit. Drop the 0 damage narrative , they were hit, just weren't overlapped properly at the right range. The math simply doesn't check out. Unless they jumped in a 0 on top of each other with no bounce and perfect overlap of bosons you would still need 20 plus titans. Most of the supers were easily 20+mil EHP each if they were properlyy fitted with HGe Feel free to run your own numbers. Only 6 or so had fired in the right direction and they were hit with bosons. I have hours more of footage of more titans firing at the wrong direction, not to mention the fleets came in 2 large spread out cluster. Good plan poor execution, and when you think you've brought enough, you double it.
@@AHigherPerspective your info is just flat out wrong lol... I get spinning... But come on even guys on your side have admitted it now.... Even CCP has admitted it now... Hedliner is an absolute beauty, Its always a good time flying with him in the lead....especially when he calls out people for not paying attention lol.
@@AHigherPerspective Isn't this enho though? CCP servers were unbiased and fucked everyone :P For context, The trap failed due to a confirmed (By CCP on the forums) to be an oversight in the TIDI code. My best guestimate (I do software for a living) would be that there is an Event processor that normally handles "Time" in eve, As tidi ramps up this event processor changes how often things are handled. All attacks would normally go through this even processor, and any extra effects would be elongated in real time to match the server's effective time. This would mean that if something _did not_ use this event handler, In this case it's the boson, would fundementally not respect the server's time scale, causing time to process for the attack too quickly in comparison to the actual timescale being used. Using random numbers for an example: if the attack were to normally take 30 seconds to finish and every 5 seconds it's supposed to do damage (which would normally tick 6 times) , if the time scale were to double the effective time, the attack would instead finish at 15 seconds, thus halving the amount of damage done. Regardless. This trap was a beauty to behold on both sides, I can only imagine the buttpucker that the PAPI FC's experienced, and that it even had a chance of working was a miracle all it's own.
I know right, they are so easily replace in this day and age. Seeing the resource distribution patch and now the null sec ratting bounty nerfs, CCP seems to want exactly as you described.
@@AHigherPerspective I do not play anymore, but I remember the time when everyone was screaming "TITAN on the grid!!! Run!". Yea, just ONE Titan. Good times. Thanks for the video m8.
Having watched the fight on Talking in Stations, it was an amazing fight. I think the fight itself dealt a massive blow to Imperium mainly in Titan's unexpectedly lost
I fully agree, seeing how many Titan's from Papi jumped in was amazing to see, I think they said on TiS about 100 at the time... I know Imperium will be able to field the same, if not more Titan's. I think it could be interesting to see where they draw the next line of defence now that Delve has been breached
Havent subbed to eve since like two years now. Your video reminds me so much of the great times i had. However it lasted 13 minutes instead of 13 hours. So thanks for the to long didnt play version haha!
As someone who played when there was only 4 or 5 titans in game and if you saw one you were already dead it its really surreal to see 100 titans jump into a fight.
@@AHigherPerspective To be fair that didn't last long, but I really don't get why they ever thought it was a good idea.... There was something glorious in the Era after that when Solo Titan pilots with massive balls would warp in and try to blap your sniper BS fleet knowing it was the only titan their alliance might ever have.
a long long tima ago, i can still remember that things used to make me smile... jus tsome months, but wihtout the servers being capable to handle a war the game lost all it promised
My corp isnt that big either, but we are part of an alliance that is in a coalition with thousands of other. Your alliance should have info on how participate on these kinds of fights, just ask your directors.
The easiest way to get involved is to join up with a new player Corp aligned with one side. For example my Corp, Brave Collective, is aligned with PAPI. www.bravecollective.com
@@AHigherPerspective Thanks for the input man. Eve is great, but after seeing battles like this, it really makes me want to experience the large scale stuff. Spectacular
Great video. Curious as to how much real time actually passed during the filming due to tidi vs. the 13 minutes of final video. I'd ask to see a bit in real time, but then I could also just hit pause.
The trap failing wasn't due to insufficient Titan numbers, but because Boson aoe did only a fraction of the damage that it should have done and that was because of TiDi. It can even be heard in the recording - the Nyxes reported 90% armor. If Boson had worked properly in TiDi and if Imperium mistakenly fielded 1/2 the Titans required for this trap, those Nyxes would be way lower than 90% armor.
Titans didnt land in the correct positions due to bubbles, not to mention a lot of those bosons outright missed the mark. If tidi broke the game, those Apostles wouldnt have died. The video angle in this video is deceptive for dramatic purposes, the raw footage shows otherwise.
Usually the winning team salvage the remaining wreck. To be honest im not sure who salvaged this one. If the winning team cant stay to salvage we typically just destroy the wreck.
Thanks for watching. EVE is a very complicated game and I am guilty of not explaining things enough. Unfortunately I would have to do a lot of explaining if I did and the video would by 5x the length lol.
What an amazing video, perfectly well done, the story, the images, i hope you can do them more often and not just 1 time a month. Just one word of advice, try to explain a little bit more who the actors are, like who is tri, who is papi, what are those ships what do they do and why are ppl doing this, i know many will know, but even as i play eve im not 100% shure what is going on, cheers and please keep it up.
one issue with that is it actually turns off a lot of veteran players when you do that. they already know what these ships are. but I do also see your point that a little colorful language can accurately describe them while not throwing the video off. h
You can help by skilling into your alliance preferred doctrine ships. Basically whatever ship your alliance asks you to fly, in my case it was the Rokh. There are several ships that your alliance should ask you to train for so that when they are called upon you are ready to field it. Dominixes are not generally used for fleet doctrine nowadays unfortunately.
I was in a sub and we killed over 2500 battleships.....then this happened! it was friggin' awesome! despite the extremem tidi, it was one of my favorite fights so far in the war. I've been in on 5 keepstar kills (goons) and will be on the next 45 or so in delve too. great teamwork throughout on papi side.
it was a great fight indeed! I dont know why CCP put so much attention on the FWST max player fight record, there wasnt really any real action or story worth telling there.
I was looking on the killboard looking for a fit to copy and I was seeing a lot of ships in delve. I think it might've been this fight but I'm not sure
Battleship doctrines are typically only good and entrenchment and digging into a defensive position due to their high EHP and great reps from FAX support. As an aggressor, we have to be mobile and tend to have to travel a bit of distance to get to our objectives, a slow moving battleship will simply get caught and easily killed.
I was there. I was there in a dread that got on 11 super killmails. I almost was there in a super...that crashed on jumpin. Somehow never actually jumped in and by that point the server node was dying. Chose to safe it up in 8qt and move on.
@@AHigherPerspective Yea, my dread got lucky. Was among the first wave in after the supers aggressed. Landed right in the middle of them. Honestly still amazed my dread was not -1’d. At least 4 supers had me yellow boxed for what felt like a hour.
Really awsome video and awsome battle as well. Just sad that the servers derped out and made the bosons do no dmg, otherwise this would've been an amazing boson trap
I love your vids dude, but it's not about the titans numbers, server didn't register all the damage that bosonic should deal. That could have damaged papi so bad.
Hi. Thanks for watching. I have all the raw clips, a few Faxes died to the Boson, its not that it didnt register, they were not perfectly overlapped. It looks like 6-7 was on point in this video, but im looking at my raw videos when the first few bosons spooled down, i can clearly see at least 3 of the 7 missed the mark. Not to mention the several other bosons that wasnt in this video that blatantly missed the target. I think I will release the sped up raw footage just to let people decide for themselves.
I'm new to Eve and I actually did not understood what's happening but the video transfers a very epic athmosphere which I enjoyed. 😅

@@naterussell6025 I think both sides will go broke if something like this happened too often haha.
Nice vid, but that comment didn't age well
@@thegraduates1469 Let's be real, CCP servers won the war.
@@AHigherPerspective Isn't this enho though? CCP servers were unbiased and fucked everyone :P
For context, The trap failed due to a confirmed (By CCP on the forums) to be an oversight in the TIDI code.
I don't even play this game, but these videos are terrific!
"Hey maw i can see my Moros from here!" xD
Amazing vid brother, Looks so much better sped up than it did in the tidi
Great narrative and video of an epic battle. Well done. O>
Great video. Mixing of comms really sells the experience.
Thanks! The best part is you dont have to actually sit through the 6 hour fight lol
Great video! It feels like supers should all cost 10+ times the amount of resources they currently do. There are so many...too many
I know right, they are so easily replace in this day and age.
@@tomj.7599 was this back when the doomsday device cleared the entire 250km grid
Having watched the fight on Talking in Stations, it was an amazing fight. I think the fight itself dealt a massive blow to Imperium mainly in Titan's unexpectedly lost
I think they have much more. Its more of a blow to morale than anything.
I fully agree, seeing how many Titan's from Papi jumped in was amazing to see, I think they said on TiS about 100 at the time... I know Imperium will be able to field the same, if not more Titan's.
I think it could be interesting to see where they draw the next line of defence now that Delve has been breached
Exceptional voice over! Epic Fight!
Thanks for watching!
your eve video are some of my favorite, even for a honk :)
Havent subbed to eve since like two years now. Your video reminds me so much of the great times i had. However it lasted 13 minutes instead of 13 hours. So thanks for the to long didnt play version haha!
shhh, dont let people know how awful some of these fleets are lol
I was not there but I'm in awe ! Well done !
got goosebumps watching this video damn..
Most game 65-60 FPS is normal for a battle while 10 is unplayable, But ONE game 10 FPS is normal and unplayable does really happen that offten.
I think I average 1fps during the peak of the fight haha.
Gonna push X to doubt the many more fights to come part.
This aged poorly
Are you enjoying your last constellation?
Amazing vid, thanks mate that nearly gave me a heart attack.
I think we all pooped a little when we saw that happening. Good thing goons cant aim.
As someone who played when there was only 4 or 5 titans in game and if you saw one you were already dead it its really surreal to see 100 titans jump into a fight.
The good ol days of DDing through cynos. balanced...
So I just started playing recently what day did this battle take place, and how do i take part in this kind of action?
Join an alliance!
I would join pandemic horde, becouse they are new player friendly, but at the end its your decision
@@thewok4131 i mean WC and legacy are not bad lol
Dont join an nullsec bloc yet... you will not enjoy tidi
I have no effects on so I can run my game smoothly. Should I turn them all back on
To be honest, a lot of the lag is server side. having graphics settings from low to medium made no difference in a large fight like this.
@@AHigherPerspective oh lol. My graphics is low/medium with low textured character and no effects lol
@@EternalShadow72 yeah. Of you check your cpu and GPU load, it's nearly at idle at most of these massive tidi fights.
@@AHigherPerspective I have integrated graphics card so my pc would definitely break if I was in a fight like this lol
Incredible as always, I eagerly await every video that comes from you like a child waiting for sweets. Please, never stop :)
Thank you so much!
I was there in my tiny Eagle among these giants. Not as fun with that tidi 😅
But the battle report made it all worth it.
Couldnt have done it without you guys though. You were literally swimming with sharks when you dove into the thick of it!
I love this stuff even though I only play Eve Echoes. Thanks for sharing!
EVE Echoes is awesome aa I love it
Was a pretty dope fight. I think I was in a carrier and a links ship on papi side.
and I am in Test. Was a GF.
@@DthScythe01 Its been great fighting with you guys.
I feel bad liking this, because it broke the 420 likes....
But, great video!
Well now we have to go to 42069 likes then!
a long long tima ago, i can still remember that things used to make me smile... jus tsome months, but wihtout the servers being capable to handle a war the game lost all it promised
Welp, this just popped up randomly in my feed. Used to run a BL corp in its hay day with ELO. Makes me want to com back.
Elo is still around whelping us with his smart bomb fleets.
@@AHigherPerspective beautiful :). Think I’ll have to reinstall and maybe meet ya in the battlefield. Fly dangerous 07
Amazing. How does one get started in a corp like that? Ive only been recruited in corps less than 100 people.
Spectacular
@@adammaier1881 Gotcha, thanks dude. I'll check it out
Great video. Curious as to how much real time actually passed during the filming due to tidi vs. the 13 minutes of final video. I'd ask to see a bit in real time, but then I could also just hit pause.
The fight in total was about 10 hours. Due to the crazy tidi. It was taking at least 10 min for the servers to process anything you clicked.
Welcome back brotha. Wondering when the next video was coming out.
Its been a while...gonna be a while longer :/ im deployed overseas til after Christmas.
How does salvage work aftwards?
Usually the winning team salvage the remaining wreck. To be honest im not sure who salvaged this one. If the winning team cant stay to salvage we typically just destroy the wreck.
Amazing video. Well done!
Thank you!
I dont even play EVE and this looks sick! Only wish I understood the jargin that was being said D:
Thanks for watching. EVE is a very complicated game and I am guilty of not explaining things enough. Unfortunately I would have to do a lot of explaining if I did and the video would by 5x the length lol.
Holy Efing Sh!t dude. That was awesome. Well worth waiting for.
Love your videos man!
Thanks!
What an amazing video, perfectly well done, the story, the images, i hope you can do them more often and not just 1 time a month. Just one word of advice, try to explain a little bit more who the actors are, like who is tri, who is papi, what are those ships what do they do and why are ppl doing this, i know many will know, but even as i play eve im not 100% shure what is going on, cheers and please keep it up.
one issue with that is it actually turns off a lot of veteran players when you do that. they already know what these ships are. but I do also see your point that a little colorful language can accurately describe them while not throwing the video off. h
why are you not mentioning the code error that allowed the supers to live that attack ?
I only started in June 2020 and wonder how I would be any help whatsoever in something like this. Would a Dominix last more than a few seconds here?
Dude yourr vids are awesome! Keep up the good Work o7
Your videos are the best.
Glad you like them!
That Truly was worthy of a subscribe
thanks :D
I've got the feeling the win is just related to have the biggest backup ready to jump in for escalation...
8:00 thats a great shot
I was looking on the killboard looking for a fit to copy and I was seeing a lot of ships in delve. I think it might've been this fight but I'm not sure
This was mouth watering.
Why does PAPI not use battleship doctrine? like g00ns?
Battleship doctrines are typically only good and entrenchment and digging into a defensive position due to their high EHP and great reps from FAX support. As an aggressor, we have to be mobile and tend to have to travel a bit of distance to get to our objectives, a slow moving battleship will simply get caught and easily killed.
I was there.
I was there in a dread that got on 11 super killmails.
I almost was there in a super...that crashed on jumpin. Somehow never actually jumped in and by that point the server node was dying. Chose to safe it up in 8qt and move on.
I was desperately trying to get on some super kill mails but was 20km too far T_T
@@AHigherPerspective Yea, my dread got lucky. Was among the first wave in after the supers aggressed. Landed right in the middle of them.
Honestly still amazed my dread was not -1’d. At least 4 supers had me yellow boxed for what felt like a hour.
was an amazing fight I ran test dreads until I died then dropped 2 titans loads of fun
Really awsome video and awsome battle as well. Just sad that the servers derped out and made the bosons do no dmg, otherwise this would've been an amazing boson trap
Yeah if the server didn't shit itself, that move would have (almost) whiped out Papi's superfleet and it would changed the war
what hardware do u use?
Ryzen 1700x 8 core, RTX2060 Super. Im still getting 1fps at the peak of the battle though....the footage is sped up 700% so it looks almost normal.
@@AHigherPerspective thank you very much
I have yet to figure out how to join a faction
I love your vids dude, but it's not about the titans numbers, server didn't register all the damage that bosonic should deal. That could have damaged papi so bad.
Hi. Thanks for watching. I have all the raw clips, a few Faxes died to the Boson, its not that it didnt register, they were not perfectly overlapped. It looks like 6-7 was on point in this video, but im looking at my raw videos when the first few bosons spooled down, i can clearly see at least 3 of the 7 missed the mark.
Not to mention the several other bosons that wasnt in this video that blatantly missed the target. I think I will release the sped up raw footage just to let people decide for themselves.
and yes, that would have been very hurty :(
CCP themselves even said there was a server problem that caused the failure.
great story telling, I was engaged
Raw footage of the moment of puckering and after for those who are interested. ua-cam.com/video/emqKWYHPyqI/v-deo.html
Looked pretty awesome..
It does!
