i loved this performance since as always, Mimi gives it her all and is just an amazing Jazz musician who is so educated and passionate in her music. as a guitarist who performs original music for bk trailers about comics, i adore Mimi's music and instruction which i've gotten to see in person though i don't play jazz i still use Mimi for inspiration and as a source to study. My sincerest hope that Mimi is well and that she doesn't get the virus like the great Bucky Pizzarelli who I am so saddened that musicians have now lost a great one. Mimi Fox, i love you and wish you and those you care for make it through for many more days to come!
Wow I'm hearing all kinds of music from bands like Yes, Rush, King's X, Queensryche, Jethro Tull etc!! Amazing the sound she makes out of that 12 string beast!!👍💯 Be-you-tiful!!
You all might dig early Genesis, Anthony Phillips, Ralph Towner, and Leo Kottke as a few other 12-stringers out there. Joe Pass did a great album using a 12-string, too.
Hello guys, I always have been a great fan of Guild acoustic guitars, however never had one, until one day my cousin let me try his 3 models...blown away by its sound, it changed my perspective forever! Now, I am just starting to learn first and after that, I am going to buy a Guild Jumbo 12 string. I have been looking online(however didn't find anything solid), I am trying to learn and understand Jumbo models, and specs of each model because I don't know the differences between models. Basically, my personal taste would be a Guild 12 jumbo full body (non cutaway) all solid, chesterfield logo headstock, solid top(any wood which matches cedar in color?) solid rosewood back and sides, satin-finish neck, discrete inlay(not dots), mother of pearl rosette, but not new. Picky huh? I would like to know which models were available, which types of wood were used back there, inlays available, specs wise and etc. Can you suggest any link, or provide reading material to learn all the differences between the models? Or even if you can tell me the whole story. Thank you so much! Best regards, Ben.
Guild never had satin finished necks except on the low level JF4 six and 12 string models. You will not find satin finished necks on the upper level Guild Jumbos as supplied by the Westerly factory. You specified solid rosewood back and sides so you are looking for a JF55-12 or a F512. There was a super jumbo called the F612 but it's extremely rare. Neither of these have the Chesterfield inlay because they are top of the line models and have the G shield inlay. No rosewood jumbo was made with a chesterfield inlay. Those were used on mid level maple and mahogany models such as the JF30-12 .i
yeah id recommend the JF30-12 Maple back and sides, mahogany neck (or maple depending on the year I think). Hard to beat for the price especially. Made in the USA. That, or a Martin D28-12 will do you no wrong if it's in the budget. Both will be lifers.
Damn....Mimi Fox is no joke. Probably sent here from another planet to teach us about the higher spiritual levels achievable through music.
I bet king David played like this.
Hi Folks, Thank you for the wonderful comments! All my best, Mimi
What a beautiful guitar, the one that Stevie Ray Vaughan used on MTV Unplugged!

Whenever I have seen csnyy they play this right before blackbird and it sounds like Norwegian wood
Please Mimi release a solo guitar 12 string project!!!!
Those fingers are amazing.
Love the sound of that 12 string.
Very nice playing,as well as a very fine guitar. Was that standard tuning? Think I'll go restring my guild, thanks for the inspiration:)
Eine Mischung aus Stephen Stills und Leo Kottke!
She tells us what is easy to make on a 12 and sounds good. Ask me and I give you another answer.
Norwegian Wood ?
Try Angela Lancieri (not sure of the spelling). Amazing!
Sehr eigenwillige Interpretation, aber cool!!!
Guild 12 string...accept no substitutes
im not hearing norwegian wood here..
Me neither..... I thought the same thing.
