this was such a fun episode! I've loved all the remotes you guys have done so far, the best and most funny thing about this episode was watching three fully grown men crammed into the back seat and watching Kunal being in the centre
How can u forget the OG Aaram Vadapav outside CST Station. It was also one of the pioneer Vadapav ,before Vadapav invented they used sell batatawada. And only try their classic one 25₹ . The speciality of vada is they dont put turmeric so it tastes unique and amazing .Must try
Try bhau vada in Mulund.. a unique coconut-garlic dry chutney and finely chopped onions, good vada, best Pao.. green chutney optional on the side (don’t advise it)..
Initially Vada Pav was the lunch or dinner of labourers who came to Mumbai from different parts of India to seek employment. The Indian tourist saw big crowds of people eating vada pav and slowly it was labelled as "Mumbai ki famous Dish - Vada Pav". But the fact is no upper middle-class or rich class eat Vada Pav. There may be exceptions to the rule. Such affluent people do eat Batata Vada but not vada pav
Ashok vada pav is the worst of all....just chutney tastes all over.... actual vada is missing becoz of so called chura which is soggy....just overhyped by people living around that area
The birth of VADA PAV was from the need of poor man to fill his stomach. Poor people could not afford to buy a veg. lunch thali in a restaurant which was pricy. Therefore the poor labour class people skipped having lunch or dinner in mumbai and instead they started eating vada pav, samosa pav, pakoda pav, misal pav, chai pav just to fill their stomach with less money in their pockets.
Anything with Pav is a poor man's pocket friendly, stomach filling junk food which is a substitute for lunch/dinner. The Pav (baked in dirty, unhygienic bakeries mushrooming in mumbai) which contains unhealthy ram bharose proportion of yeast with burnt palm oil deep fried junk is wrongly labelled as "Mumbai ka favorite".
