@@TxAlonzo I did. I had replaced the throttle body, gave it a tune-up with spark plugs, and even put an O2 sensor on because I had another engine code thinking that that might be related. It had no effect. But as soon as I put this part on from Amazon the idle problem went away immediately and has not come back. Dorman 911-777 Vapor Canister Purge Valve. It is currently $36 with prime shipping so it's a pretty cheap test compared to a throttle body LOL.
I'm never buying a ford again. Not that I came here just to hate on ford, but I'm trying to find the reason for a specific knocking noise that I'm having in my engine, and I'm shocked to see how many issues this car has.
It’s not the noise of the injectors? Check your oil make sure it’s full if u can remove the drive belt to see if it’s coming from one of your pulleys don’t normally see issues with the engines on these cars
Mine does the same thing, same year and model, even with a manual transmission it will idle the same way as yours if being in 1st and going to neutral doesnt fit the cars high standards. OBD2 reader gets a P0420 code, which is bad cat converter/o2 sensors. My thoughts (and also thoughts of a Firestone mechanic) are that the engine is choking from a clogged cat converter. Replacing it seems expensive even if on my own, thought about boring a hole into the honeycombs or even simply cleaning it with laundry detergent and water but with the size of it that could be some awkward work. I’ll be working on that this month and seeing if my problem goes away, might also try a quart of laquer thinner into the gas tank and have those chemicals clean out the cat converter as i drive it. I’ll keep updates and i also enjoy hearing other peoples suggestions in these comments
I’d check the MAP sensor and get that changed / fuel pressure regulator changed . I have a p0420 code and a rough idle at 800 rpm .. it jumps sometimes . I’d also check for recalls on the fuel vaporiser as Ford US should fix this under a recall 👍
I’ll have to check my cat temp from front to the back see if it’s the same but the car did die on me 1 day when I was waiting in a drive thru it wouldn’t wanna stay running it got a code for low fuel pressure from the high pressure fuel pump I never fixed it I parked it for a day an guess it fixed it’s self it’s been a year an hasn’t died on me randomly again
If your Cat is the problem, pour a bit of lacquer thinner in the gas tank and let it idle for awhile. This was a problem I had with another ford and it cleared it right up. Only thing though is that the smell was pretty strong like sulfur. So if your not smelling that, not sure if you have the same problem I did.
Mine just stopped doing this it started when I put a cold air intake on it but after putting about 1500 miles on it it stopped I guess the computer just had to adjust to it I also hard that the purge valve could cause this issue to

Hello! I have a 2016 Ford Focus SE Flex, I kind of have this same problem also. When I’m in idle either parked or at a red light with the ac on, it has shut down on me before. Those years of focus have a bad grounding connection to the fire wall. They painted it at the factory. Remove it, sand the connection and replace.

There’s a gas tank recall on the 16s air gets in your fuel tank and it causes issues. I’ve had mine fixed but I’m wondering if it’s occurring again
