One of the other benefits of Griffith is that it's THE university on the Gold Coast. Yes, there is Bond, but it is private and expensive, and if you want to be part of a university environment where most of the city's student life is centered it's great. It is more difficult for mid-tier unis in bigger cities that compete with top-tier universities to establish a similar sensation of representing the city's student base.
International students have to pay about double the amount that domestic ones do so if you are keen on it, save up and double or triple check it is ideal for you.

Hi Rob, thanks for the great video! This really helped me a lot to understand Griffith better! As I am planning to study psychology undergraduate prog in aus, I would like to ask which university (Griffith, Adelaide, Deakin or Queensland) do you think is good at it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
That's a good collection of unis. All of the unis you've selected are good in different ways - I'd hate to make a specific recommendation without knowing in detail what your plans are and what things you like.
Great video! I am studying at Swinburne and have completed an exchange in the US. Looking to transfer somewhere outside the three major cities(Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney) to study Government and International Relations / Media Communication. I am considering Griffith, Notra Dame, University of Adelaide and Canberra. Can you discuss their strengths and weaknesses?
Govt and IR are great at the ANU. Media is also good there and at UC. Griffith is a good all round choice especially since it has a great Asian focus (critical in media, IR and Govt!) Adelaide has been pretty smashed up by Covid. They’ve got an excellent new vice chancellor but he hasn’t been there long so I think it’s going to take some time for the uni to really find its feet again. Notre Dame has the equal highest student satisfaction in the country. Not sure how they do in these discipline areas but the uni certainly creates a good positive learning environment 👍
Sorry for the slow reply - an interesting question: these are two quite different unis based on location, cost, and prestige. Social work is an accredited degree so the programs, by design, have to be quite similar as they must cover the same core content. So given both have to be similar with the course, I’d look at the other elements of study and decide based on that: uni reputation, cost, living costs, city location etc
I’m conflicted in studying at UQ or Griffith for education (primary school). I would have to travel further for UQ , but I’m willing to go with the best education program! Any recommendations?
Hey i am planning to do my bsc in psychology from Griffith but i also have offer letter from QUT. What do you think is better? I am leaning more towards Griffith. PS: Love your videos.
Then that’s a good plan imo Lots of these unis are very similar in many ways. What makes the biggest difference is having less friction and stress in life, so I think your thinking is good 👍
Dentistry is an accredited program so it’s going to be pretty similar in most places. Griffith has a pretty recent health facility on the Gold Coast so you should find everything in good condition there!
Rob are you gonna do a review of Charles Sturt? Do you reckon it's going down the drain? I got offered a place there...but might try keep trying for Newcastle
Yes, it’s on the list but I’m on the other side of Australia right now so won’t be until mid-2021. The uni has some issues right now but it is strategically important as they serve a lot of regional areas, so the Govt will likely support it. Which campus were you looking at and what discipline?
The Port campus is small. It’s a pretty place and will have far fewer students in the physio classes than the big campuses. I think that’s an advantage. I’ll be stopping in Port mid next year. Will try to visit the campus for a quick tour.
@@ChoosingYourUni thanks for feedback! No chance of getting into USyd with 99.50 last round! And I doubt Newcastle too, last round 98.05 😮 so my main option is a more manageable entry into podiatry the Ourimbah campus. Still don't know which one I'd prefer to do professionally 😕
Hi! Your videos are very helpful :)) but I was wondering if you knew about the nursing course in Griffith? How would it compare to ACU brisbane? Thanks 🙏
Ah! A fine question! I really like both these unis. ACU’s nursing program is one of the top ones in the country. However the on campus experience would be better at Griffith imo
Some courses have classes at both Nathan and Gold Coast campus. I wonder how do students manage to move around the two campuses during study. If I rent a place in the middle and not planning to move in 2 years it could be a pain in the ass for my family to commute.
That's interesting. I was of the impression that you were not obliged to travel across campuses for a degree (i.e. a degree would be fully taught on a particular campus) but that you had the option of taking classes from another campus if you wanted. What degree are you looking at doing? I'd be interested to look into the detail.
Hi Rob, I'm an international student with offers from both QuT and Griffith, just wondering which you would recommend. I'm studying information technology
@@ChoosingYourUni I'm just wondering, Griffith gave me more exemptions than QuT and the amount I'm going to spend if I go there is probably close to 40% less than if I went QuT. Just wondering if you think QuT is that much better than Griffith to warrant me spending more?
Thank you very much, such an informative video. I’m an upcoming student at medical lab science in Griffith Gold Coast, but still concerning it’s a good choice or not. Do you think the medical lab bachelor degree at Griffith Uni is worth? Or should I apply for another uni next semester? Thank you a lot and hope to receive your answer!!!
If you're starting soon, why don't you just do the first semester and see what it's like? You can always change after that. A degree takes years and lots of the foundational content is similar across unis, so whatever you do at Griffith won't be time wasted either way. The only way _you'll_ know if it's right for you is if _you_ start the program and see how _you_ feel about it :)
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you for your reply. As I’m an international student so I just want to make the best decision while save money for future studies. This course in GriffithUni is accredited so that’s why I chose it, but still concerning about Uni of Adelaide or Uni of Western Australia with higher ranking!
Hi! I'm also an upcoming international student this march for BS Medical lab science :) Are you doing the course online or are you travelling there and attending on campus?
Yes, Griffith is good for business. It has a big strength in Asian business, which drives a lot of international growth of course. Plenty of good business programs in Melbourne too, so what do you like the look of in Melbourne?
Definitely the next time I’m there! I’ve visited before - I like the city and the campus has improved a lot with new buildings. It’s a nice part of Queensland. What would you study there?
@@ChoosingYourUni I would like to study medicine but in Perth, I would just like to see the facilities of JCU coz I'm pretty curious since I've read a lot of good feedbacks about it. I'll definitely wait for your visit there here in your channel! 😊 God bless always Mr. Rob! 😊
Hey Rob, I‘m planning to do a bachelor‘s degree in Australia from next year on. Do you think that Griffith is a good choice for Marine Sciences? I was on the Gold Coast for a month last year and absolutely loved the area and the campus looks absolutely amazing... Haven‘t found many comparisons on google though
That’s a hard question to answer without knowing more about you and what your interests and preferences are. Have you seen this video? ua-cam.com/video/ZcuUhTYc1Jg/v-deo.html
The uni has many strengths in these areas. But what you’ve selected is very broad so you should try to be more specific if you’re looking for detailed strengths
Hi Rob. I am an international student and just got selected in Griffith University for Master of Interactive Media. How do I get to know through the website about my course there? Thanks for the video, the campus seems really nice.
Congrats Rahul. Great uni and that’s a very good degree for getting work in future! What exactly do you need to know through the website? Courses? Syllabi?
Hi again Rob. Thank you for the wishes. @4:16 You mentioned in the video about a website called Qilt.edu.au that gives a detailed review about a particular course of that university and I went to the website and found only the surveys of previous years. I would want to know about previous student experiences for the particular course over there
Most of the QILT data is now on a site called "Compared.edu.au". That data set isn't updated immediately each year - it usually takes them some months to finish the surveys and present the data. It also doesn't get down to degree level - it is at discipline level and degree-level. So in your case you'd probably go looking for postgraduate communications results from Griffith (or something like that). Let me know how you go!
That's a hard question. They are both great universities. What's most important to you? - Academics? - Job prospects? - Location of the uni? - Extracurricular options?
@@ChoosingYourUni location of both University are in city as they are offering me Nathan and city west campus Most important thing to me are academic and job prospects
Hey! I'm an International student, and am applying for a nursing degree this year. I'm thinking of either Uni of Newcastle or Griffith University. I am looking for an authentic experience here, get to know the people and the culture, most importantly, making new friends!! Which one do you think is better? (also academic-wise)
Griffith is no. 1 in Australia and no. 2 in the world for nursing. Awesome uni and experience living on the Gold Coast - right near the beach and great weather. Someone commented the other day that UoN has opened a new space on the Central Coast campus for nursing, but I’m not sure about that yet as I haven’t seen it yet. Program is ranked 26 in the world and as well above world standard, so strong too. Newcastle is regional and has fewer international students. If you go to the central coast campus it is definitely mostly local Australians!
thankyou so much for this video😊it really helped..i was just planning to pursue my dentistry course from this university..please tell me is my decision ok?
Both are excellent programs and each has its strengths. The Gold Coast and Melbourne are VERY different locations, so some of your decision might be based on what kind of experience you want OUTSIDE the classroom. There are going to be more part time work options in Melbourne, but the Gold Coast has beautiful beaches and warm weather :)
Hi Rob! I‘ve decided to do an exchange semester on the Gold Coast, but I‘m still not sure if I should choose Bond University or Griffith! I‘m looking for great student life, meet new friends (international & local), have an overall great experience - academics is important as well but it‘s not my main criteria.. what would be your recommendation then & why? thanks so much!
Hi Anna, Two great universities and both have a lot to offer exchange and study abroad students. Bond is a smaller campus with excellent facilities. Class sizes are smaller, so in theory you should have better connections with other students and teachers. The flip side is that Bond has a much higher % of international students - it's about 40% international students compared with about 17% at Griffith. This means at Griffith you're more likely (depending on the subject area) to be in class with local Australian students. Griffith is more accessible by public transport, with the light rail running right from the beaches to the campus. Facilities are in better condition at Bond (not that Griffith is bad in this regard, though). Griffith will have more students on campus for more of the day. Having written all this out, I personally would lean towards Griffith unless there was a subject area at Bond that was ridiculously strong. But that's just my opinion.
Hi Chan - sorry, I missed this question. I'm not very familiar with the pharmacy programs so I can't give a definite answer. I really like both of these universities in different ways though!
Hello Rob! I'm planning to do masters in project management in Griffith in gold coast! Is that good? Do we get jobs after completing masters? How it's going to be please give information regarding.
That sounds like a good degree at a good uni to me. Project management is highly versatile. You can go lots of directions with a degree like that, which I think is pretty important!
A Life That Travels I have been through a lot of information about Griffith and Macquarie uni and I am confused which one should I choose . Griffith is the first to start an environmental science course where as Macquarie has a very good face value . I have completed my bachelors in Geology and I am looking forward to environmental science as my post graduate course
A Life That Travels and talking about the city ... city is not an issue as such but a good university is important for me right now ... a university which would have good teachers ... internships.... employment opportunities ... a city in where I could work part time
Here's my Macquarie Review: ua-cam.com/video/sZLRUG1xPK0/v-deo.html Both MQ and Griffith are strong in Environmental Sciences. If I'm really honest, I did my UG at MQ in Envi Sci, so I can't be completely unbiased on that one!

Hi Rob, greeting from Indonesia, please do review video about James Cook University Townsville. I am interested to do postgrad in Marine Biology or Aquaculture. Cheers
Hi Jonathan, you bet! JCU is on the list! For marine bio it is one of the top unis in the country, so that’s a good choice imho. The Townsville campus is nice too. I haven’t been there for a year or two now but will definitely do a video next time I’m there! Thanks for watching!
Most universities have childcare on campus. Be aware that it’s not a free service and might be “busy” - so you’ll need to look into it early to make sure you get a spot.
Hi Rob, thank you for the video. I’m an international student and I’m planning to study dentistry in Australia next year. Do you think that Griffith is a good choice for dentistry? Also, how are the job opportunities for Griffith Uni graduate dentists in Australia? Thank you in advance.
Griffith’s health disciplines are strong. Not sure specifically about job prospects for dentistry. You could do a search on seek.com.au to get an idea of how many job openings there are right now which might be a crude measure of future opportunity…
Do you think it would be worth it as a international student who study IT? Gold coast is definitely good place for sure but I don't really know I can get an internship program in gold coast....
There are not a lot of big IT companies on the Gold Coast. However, there are many small companies - companies where they are based there because of the good lifestyle and offer services to the Gold Coast or remote services to bigger cities. So I’d say it depends on what you’re looking to study. The uni should be able to give you an indication of what sorts of internships might be available.
Hi rob, i am from indonesia. what do you think about newcastle university and griffith university?. I am going to study business commerce and it's kinda hard to choose between them. Glad to hear if you reply my question, Cheers.
Both are good unis. Griffith has an excellence in Asian business. Newcastle has very strong connections to its local community. Both are nice places - the Gold Coast is bigger than Newcastle. but Newcastle has nicer beaches and is only 2.5 hours from Sydney. There are pluses to both!
I’m not really sure on this one but aviation is going to be a tough industry for years to come. Lots of skilled and experienced people who have lost their jobs will be looking for work. It’s going to be crazy competitive...
Hi, thanks for the video, it was helpful. Just wondering if anyone would know what the Health Faculty is like at Griffith Uni? I'm looking to study Health Science Nutrition and Dietetics
Oh sorry, I misread your first comment. I don’t think 5 is enough for direct entry. You’d probably need to do some on campus preparatory English first.
Right now the economy has taken a big hit in Australia. It's hard to know how things will evolve. Before Covid getting casual and part time work on the Gold Coast was easy.
Hi Rod, thank you for this amazing video. Kindly guide me, I have applied to 2 universities James Cook( cairns) and Griffith ( gold coast) for MASTERS in TOURISM. Which university will be better between these two?
Hello Rob. Great video. I’m an international student looking to do my masters in public health. I’m considering the following schools: Flinders, University of Southern Australia, University of Adelaide, Murdoch, Curtin and Griffith. Which of them would you say is a better choice amongst the rest with awesome job opportunities? Thank you.🙏🏾
Public health is a good discipline to study right now. There’s a lot of work everywhere. All these unis are strong in their own ways and at Masters level I believe you really need to look at the detail of what specialisations are available and how they align with your interests. I like the cities you’ve chosen: Adelaide, Gold Coast and Perth. They are each quite unique so you might want to check out the differences.
Was wondering since Griffith and QUT has the same international tuition fees for Bachelor's, which would be better for Electrical Engineering? Can you recommend?

They’ve got an excellent new vice chancellor but he hasn’t been there long so I think it’s going to take some time for the uni to really find its feet again. Notre Dame has the equal highest student satisfaction in the country. Not sure how they do in these discipline areas but the uni certainly creates a good positive learning environment 👍
Any reviews on aviation at Griffith?
Not sure about that one.
Hi, Thanks for informative video. I'm currently stuck between Griffith and Monash for Masters of Social Work program. Which one would you recommend?
Sorry for the slow reply - an interesting question: these are two quite different unis based on location, cost, and prestige.
Social work is an accredited degree so the programs, by design, have to be quite similar as they must cover the same core content.
So given both have to be similar with the course, I’d look at the other elements of study and decide based on that: uni reputation, cost, living costs, city location etc
Great vid!! Thanks!!
You’re welcome!
I was wondering if studying industrial design is good at Griffith Uni?
Thank you for the video!
You’re welcome.
I’m not sure about that discipline at Griffith. Try looking on compared.edu.au for student satisfCtion results
Thank You for Informative video
Most welcome
I’m conflicted in studying at UQ or Griffith for education (primary school). I would have to travel further for UQ , but I’m willing to go with the best education program! Any recommendations?
Have you already checked out the Compared.edu.au website?
Their salmon and cow bell cheese panini are great! 👍😋🤙
Ha ha - that's a good detail to know!
First of all the video is great. I want to ask how is the university teaching and outcome in Master of Project Management course?
Is that project management in the business school or in a different school, like engineering?
@@ChoosingYourUni ya its in business school
Griffith’s business school is good. I’d study there. It has a strong connection with Asian Business and finance and leadership programs too.
@@ChoosingYourUni That's cool. Thanks for your time.
🙌
Hey i am planning to do my bsc in psychology from Griffith but i also have offer letter from QUT. What do you think is better? I am leaning more towards Griffith. PS: Love your videos.
What’s making you lean towards Griffith?
@@ChoosingYourUni my sister lives in Gold Coast. I believe it would be easier for me to adjust.
Then that’s a good plan imo
Lots of these unis are very similar in many ways. What makes the biggest difference is having less friction and stress in life, so I think your thinking is good 👍
@@ChoosingYourUni thankyou. You are replying to all these comments. Really appreciate that. Means a lot🙏
I do my best - a little behind right now!
How is this place for dentistry? Thank you for such a good video!
@@ChoosingYourUni Physio at Port Macquarie. Lemme know if you have any insider info!
You can always start somewhere and transfer unis or degrees. Heaps of time.
@@ChoosingYourUni ohh i see.. thank you! :))
Probably QUT for that one tbh
@@ChoosingYourUni Thanks for the advice Rob!
Sure, if ranking is what’s most important to you that’s of course ok
Hi! I'm also an upcoming international student this march for BS Medical lab science :) Are you doing the course online or are you travelling there and attending on campus?
Lots of unis are going to be back on campus this semester. Everyone’s hoping it’ll stay that way!
Can you do jcu?
Already done both Cairns and Townsville campuses 👍
Ok thank you what about cqu Mackay?
For business, I was thinking going to griffith? Is it a good university for business? Or is there a one in Melbourne that you reckon is better
Yes, Griffith is good for business. It has a big strength in Asian business, which drives a lot of international growth of course.
Plenty of good business programs in Melbourne too, so what do you like the look of in Melbourne?
can you please do a video on the University of Wollongong
Not possible right now with COVID, sorry! I’ll try to do it later in the year if things reopen.
Hi do you have plans on visiting Jcu townsville?
Definitely the next time I’m there! I’ve visited before - I like the city and the campus has improved a lot with new buildings. It’s a nice part of Queensland. What would you study there?
@@ChoosingYourUni I would like to study medicine but in Perth, I would just like to see the facilities of JCU coz I'm pretty curious since I've read a lot of good feedbacks about it. I'll definitely wait for your visit there here in your channel! 😊 God bless always Mr. Rob! 😊

What else, outside academic stuff, is important to you?
I REALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE UNIVERSITIES MD PROGRAM
Lots of good info available on that with a basic search 👍

Hey Rob, I‘m planning to do a bachelor‘s degree in Australia from next year on. Do you think that Griffith is a good choice for Marine Sciences? I was on the Gold Coast for a month last year and absolutely loved the area and the campus looks absolutely amazing... Haven‘t found many comparisons on google though
Yeah, it’s pretty awesome. James Cook Uni in Townsville and Cairns is Australia’s top uni for marine sciences I believe.
A Life That Travels Ok, will try to go to Griffith then since Townsville/Cairns are too small and boring for longer periods of time I guess.
That seems like a fair assessment to me. I actually love Cairns and Townsville, but the Gold Coast is definitely bigger and more lively.
Which uni is better to study Tourism ?
That’s a hard question to answer without knowing more about you and what your interests and preferences are. Have you seen this video?
ua-cam.com/video/ZcuUhTYc1Jg/v-deo.html
Griffith is ranked as the top university for Tourism and Leisure management
How about master of public health, is it recommended in griffith sir?
Public health is a good program at Griffith 👍
How is this uni for information technology?
Check out www.qilt.edu.au and look up the comparison with other unis.
Is it better to study at ECU Perth ,Griffith or Swinburne melbourne
You need to be a lot more specific with your question
What was the language/humanities/linguistics area like?
Hey mate.I wanna Study Bsc in I.T at Griffith Uni .Will Griffith is a cool option for this course
Gold Coast or Nathan Campus?
Plus, can you clarify what you mean by a "cool" option? Do you mean student life and life around campus?
Thanks rob which university would be better UNISA or Griffith for master in urban planning
That's a hard question. They are both great universities.
What's most important to you?
- Academics?
- Job prospects?
- Location of the uni?
- Extracurricular options?

May I know when this campus will be open for International students?
No one knows for sure but probably not before next year.
I don’t specifically know the dentistry program at Griffith but I like the uni - if it’s the Gold Coast campus I think that would be fine.
@@ChoosingYourUni thankyou for replying 🤗

Hey, Griffith or Deakin for Exercise and sports science? Please help really confused.
I'm looking for something similar In Sports Management
And wanted help regarding the same
Deakin is probably the stronger of the two sports programs, but Griffith is a great uni in an excellent location!
But As an international student
Deakin offers 2+2 years where as Griffith being Regional offers 2+3 years. How crucial do you think that would be?
Hi Anna,
Two great universities and both have a lot to offer exchange and study abroad students.
I’m debating Griffith or Deakin University for nutrition which would you recommend?
Ahhhh, both great programs imo. Deakin over Griffith for the program, but Griffith for the student lifestyle!
I want to learn hospitality, which do you recommend UQ or Griffith?
Both have strengths and weaknesses. So it depends on you and your interests and goals.
Just planning to begin my undergraduate this july at this campus. Can I get a part time job while staying there for 3 years?
The Gold Coast has many businesses. Unless the Coronavirus thing is still impacting things finding a casual job shouldn’t be too hard.
@@ChoosingYourUni alright ! Thanks alot for replying.

Hey there ... do u have any idea about postgraduate course in environmental science?
I have lots of ideas. Can you narrow it down a bit for me?
What are you looking for exactly? What city? Etc
A Life That Travels and talking about the city ... city is not an issue as such but a good university is important for me right now ... a university which would have good teachers ... internships.... employment opportunities ... a city in where I could work part time
Here's my Macquarie Review: ua-cam.com/video/sZLRUG1xPK0/v-deo.html
Both MQ and Griffith are strong in Environmental Sciences. If I'm really honest, I did my UG at MQ in Envi Sci, so I can't be completely unbiased on that one!

Griffith for me. For 1 semester, it’s a warmer, more lively location with better travel opportunities for the weekends
i plan to go there with my toddler for master degree, is the uni offer support like daycare?

Hi rob, which uni is better for IT, Griffith or scu
If it were me I'd choose Griffith for that one. But that's just me.
The uni should be able to give you an indication of what sorts of internships might be available.
hows the social work program at griffith?
A good program from what I know.
How's the master of business - sport management at the uni?
This is a good university for that degree.
I am going to Griffith University for a Bachelor's of Aviation management. is it worth doing aviation there?
I’m not really sure on this one but aviation is going to be a tough industry for years to come. Lots of skilled and experienced people who have lost their jobs will be looking for work. It’s going to be crazy competitive...

It’s on the Gold Coast. That’s a nice area with a small city and lots to do. I believe it is considered a regional campus for immigration purposes

Which of them would you say is a better choice amongst the rest with awesome job opportunities?

Public health is a good discipline to study right now. There’s a lot of work everywhere. All these unis are strong in their own ways and at Masters level I believe you really need to look at the detail of what specialisations are available and how they align with your interests.
I like the cities you’ve chosen: Adelaide, Gold Coast and Perth. They are each quite unique so you might want to check out the differences.
