  • Rishi Sunak Speech: Former British prime minister and Conservative leader Rishi Sunak offered some light-hearted advice to his successor, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as he congratulated him for his decisive victory in the recently concluded UK General Election. "Life comes at you fast. Soon, you might be fortunate enough to be tapped on the shoulder and offered a junior ministerial role,” Sunak said during his first official speech as UK Opposition Leader in Parliament, referring to his appointment as a junior Treasury minister before being promoted to Chancellor under Boris Johnson’s premiership.

I voted for neither Labour nor the Conservatives. But I wholeheartedly agree with the other comments, This was a brilliant and memorable speech - even later praised and appreciated by Keir Starmer. I do not think I have ever heard a better response, from the Opposition, to a Queen's, and now King's, Speech or from the leader of the Party which has just lost a General Election. It is a pity that he will not be continuing as Leader of the Opposition. He was the one member of the then Tory Government who deserved praise for most of his measures as Chancellor during Covid, and for the speed with which he delivered them. He will be a loss to UK politics.

Rishi you are good. Your colour let you down which I fully understand as naturally there is an element of insecurity. Rishi you were determined to deter migrants and the Rwanda plan was brilliant to do so. I am intrigued what plans the Labour government has. 1000 migrants have entered since Labour has been in power. We will sadly be an Islamic State soon. It hurts.

David Lamy should turn to Conservatives for the next understanding for ministers to understand policies with social acceptance. As most MPs are yet to find there true party. ⚡️🤴🏽🕉🔺➕

I want the UK to be great again. I'm an Irish Catholic living in Australia. The British MOD needs to modernise. The British army has more horses than tanks and too many military bands. You want to let the USA know that you're pulling your weight. Be less Disney Princess and more Rambo. Just saying.

He has done training on speech giving.
No doubt this is a great speech 👍by him as opposition party leader.
Wish he had been so practical towards giving his PM public speeches based as per reality & truth too, by listening to majority citizens complaints against his government's run unjust, inhuman policies been enforced on own UK citizens - and removed all such unjust ruling been enforced on British people since 2010 - instead of increasing unjust run policies on citizens further on in April 2024 - which actually got him & his Tory Party kicked out of ruling UK in GE on 4 July.
Until 4 July GE give all his public campaign speeches that Starmar & Labour Party will decline & destroy UK & lives of citizens more than Tories did for 14 years. Now, such complete U-turn in his speech, points & views about & towards same Labour become Ruling Govt. of UK.
Great speech, but most citizens would see it as a man changing his tone & tune as per what suits him.
