0 Money? The title is very misleading.. They should change it to something like "how to build a network” or something else, that reflects more the content of the video.
At first he had money on the side (for the plane ticket) and his brother had been already in Vienna (he had a roof over his head, he hadn't to worry about his basic needs). It also depends on the country you want to visit and on your own home country, because of the visa-" problem". In some countries you can't get a visa easily or only with an invitation from a citizen of the country, you want to visit, and the citizen must have a job and enough income to make an invitation.
I wished he would talk about how much money he needed for traveling, how he did the important stuff to stay legally and have a business legally (although last point would be to much for one 10min video) and how to find a place to live in the beginning (especially when don't have the money for an apartment or friends/relatives there).
Vienna is pretty expensive compared to most other parts of Austria.
    Btw sorry for my English....

Hey Bertina, thank you very much for your comment :) Indeed 0 money isn't the case, i had about 300 euros when i moved to Vienna. It's not a lot but it was something. I think what Petra tried to say here is that we believe we need a lot to take such steps and i simply wanted to share my story of how it worked for me. My brother was also an immigrant and didn't have any better conditions either so beside staying with him for a week or so i was pretty much on my own. Regarding the country you are absolutely right, everyone must research in advance to be as familiar as possible with the country's rules. The first country i moved to alone was Canada and i learned a lot about how immigrations laws work and how to plan my options. Again, the interview was kept short and so much information was left out but i will gladly answer here. I needed around 150 euros for my flight ticket, another 200 or so for my first month's rent (at a tiny dormitory room). I prepared a list of people who can help me with a job and was hired as a security man which helped me pay my rent. In Austria finding a place to live is quite easy, there are many Facebook groups, websites and supportive organizations, so for me it was very easy. Vienna is expensive but it's also full with opportunities. Once i was there i launched my online content marketing business (focused on the tourism market which needed help), worked as a security, i quickly started producing workshops called "Future Business Lab" which participants paid for- kinda like an interactive TED talks. There are many more steps i took over the 6 years im here which i will happily share if you want :)

This video - the tips and advice from the interview is certainly inspiring. Certainly worth considering throwing oneself into any position from a weak position, but one must “go in” fully committed. There is NOTHING to lose if one starts from ‘nothing’ and knowing ‘no one.’

  • @SuperKanuuna

Somehow this is very misleading. You cant move somewhere without money and without job. Where you going to live? This guy moved to his brothers place or he had alot of savings to rent own apartment. Did he started work immediately or how he did manage to live first months, for free?
I had live in Vienna over 3 years, unfortunately I had to move back to Finland. Been here now over 2 years and missing Vienna every month.
I cant move there without money or without job. Have no place to stay there and no work. I would need like 50000€ to set my life in there, start from 0. First rent apartment, apply german language courses and after years handling german language finding a work which could also take time and in that point, 50000€ would been already probably spended.
Only with some help and having free place to stay in beginning and having high education and smart brain can MAYBE move to abroad with NO Money and NO Job.
This was not super simple 3 step guide -_-

Hey :) Thank you for your comment and sorry for my late reply :) Indeed to live comfortably in Vienna, you need enough money. For me it wasn't about comfort. Again, the interview was short, my story is way more complex than that. I needed to move away and i had to find any way to make it work. My point is, you can make it work. To study German i hired a teacher, organized a course and had about 20 people from various universities participating. This funded my own German studies. I worked in 3 jobs (as a freelancer mainly), 2 of which were online. It took time until registering my company but when you reach this point, it isn't that difficult to register. I completely agree with you ,it's not easy so in this sense it can be misleading. People who want to make it with very little money must fight for it every day, must get to know as many people as possible and must be creative to find solutions. But it is possible and my goal here was to give some hope to people who feel stuck. I will happily share more details about my story with anyone who wants to get in touch.

  • @millyann7655

This is not about how he moved with NOTHING! this is misleading and this interview is absurd.
This is about selling “yourself” people don’t need to sell themselves! That’s the problem with society today. People are obsessed with trying to impress other rather than impress themselves!

    • @sagiz123
      @sagiz123 4 роки тому +1

Hey, just saw your comment :) Thank you for sharing your thought. Perhaps it sounds like a cliche to simply sell yourself. What i meant is to offer value to people you meet. I completely agree with you that impressive others is useless as it makes you depend completely on others' evaluation of you and makes you only more insecure. That's not what i meant. What i mean is that you should be aware of your skills and what you can offer and bring it up in your conversations with others. For me it created many partnerships and now it is a habit to try to find ways to collaborate with new people i meet :) I'm happy to answer any question if i wasn't clear enough in the interview but i meant to give hope to people, not make them insecure.

@@sagiz123 I'm so happy things worked out for you in the best way possible! I have been meaning to move to a country abroad where It's cheaper to live and stay and get a job and settle first. I'm 19 and I dropped out of college in my second year as I very much would be wasting my years getting a degree which would take 3 years of my life and it's worthless although it does have it's ups. Personally that'd be a lot of my time wasted. So I went ahead and joined my dad's firm and have been working there with him for about a year now. But my options are very much limited here and my current friends and family members aren't allowing me to grow. I want to get abroad and settle and I'm more than happy to sacrifice my comforts until I get a job and I can settle and then later network and build big and expand options by adding value first. But I'm bit concerned about visa and worried if my age would be of concern with the embassies and during immigration. What would your advice be for me and where should I move on from here? Any country that speaks English is good, the comforts doesn't matter,
(For me because I don't have a degree I can do manual labour or factory works where labour is the skill I can offer)
      Thank you Sagi!

Hi, thank you for your comment and sorry for this delayed reply :) Indeed you do need some plan. For me it was my second time moving abroad (first time was to Canada) so i knew how to prepare and strategize my move. Without a job you must find other legal possibility and different countries offer other opportunities (entrepreneur visa, student visa, research visa, depending on who you are). You need to find a way in to move to a country like Austria and this is a very important detail to mention. My tips in the video only apply once you are there legally and can actually carry out work, otherwise it's not a possibility. What i recommend is to evaluate your skills, try perhaps to offer services online. I offered content marketing services for tourism businesses and nowadays they might need it to in order to stay relevant and not be forgotten because of the Corona virus.
