Very inspiring video, I'm moving to Los Angeles in 2 weeks with less than $1000, and a place to stay for 1 week. I'm 19 years old, and I'm pretty scared I won't lie, but I'm still doing at and I'm still going to chase my dreams.
    Wish me luck everyone!

Thats the thing we are so scared and start planning out, and what a ridiculous thing is to plan out life?? you can't control your future, you can only control your life today. Take action because you will never do it, and if you do it later...it might be too late.

Preach brother, preach, thank you. It's so nice to see somebody that is on the same page as me. My mom passed away two weeks ago, and as a result, I made the mistake by telling everybody that I am moving to LA. Big mistake I didn't realize that it would be such a hot-button topic in my life. All I got back from friends and relatives is a bunch of ney saying. They kept telling me how expensive it is to live in LA, my dad says it's a cesspool, l my sister told me don't go to LA chasing a pipe dream. But I know deep in my heart that this is something I have to do. I live with my mother all my life and by her passing away I felt like God has opened the door for me. Before 2 weeks ago I felt extremely stuck taking care of my sickly mother and feeling guilty about falling behind in pursuing and chasing my dream of becoming an actress. But despite all that, I have my mind made up and given what you said in your video regarding burning the ship, and if you don't change nothing in your life will change with so inspiring. Thank you for the motivating words, I thought I had my mind made up before now. Now I know in my mind there's no turning back, it's due or die. And unlike my mother, I will not die while living in this god-awful apartment in Sacramento.
Thank you for re-posting this video, when you said to "Burn the ship" something awakened in me. Because if it's one thing that the universe has told me is I don't matter in my living environment I can't even get family members to do me a simple favor for me. Everybody in my world has got their head up their own asses. I'm truly on my own here, therefore I've got nothing to lose if I move to LA. I used to get hurt and mad at my sister when she let me down. I said to myself, if she does this to me again, I won't get mad at her, I will simply burn the ship. Well, she let me down like I knew she would. This time I didn't get mad, I simply decided to BURN THE DAMN SHIP. And why the hell not? Do I have a support system in LA NO. Do I have a support system in Sacramento? HELL NO.

I'm currently in a situation similar, I have no family to confide in, and I really want to move to LA. It's so alluring to me and I've never lived on my own before. I want an adventure, something that will test me. I believe I'm ready for a big challenge to reap what hopefully will be a big self-growth. What do you think? My only hesitation is where specifically to seek shelter.

@11:46 - "But we're not going back..." *At that moment in your video, you actually had me. That was GOLD. You suddenly for a brief moment in time, - had [my full attention]; I stopped what I was doing and for a moment, became ..open to making decisions based on thoughts I haven't had in some time now. ..I notice the views on each of your many posts are fairly low, but the thrust of the three videos I viewed this evening came from this particular video and at 11:46. *That's the diamond within the body of information that came from you. I could actually hear Will Smith's voice coming from you. I think for a moment, "you channeled him." Very impressive. You might build an even stronger foundation upon that moment because it was in-fact, very powerful; motivating me as well, to make similar decisions based on your thoughts and recommendations. - Stay Gold Trevoy.

Hi. hru. Well I'm going to move to LA from Alabama really soon. This video helped bc I always told myself that if I leave coming back is no option. Last year I tried moving to Houston n you just made me have that Aha moment. I just realized that I was too focused on surviving rather than my purpose for moving. I do see now tho Houston isn't for me. I wanted to do fashion in Houston but I believe that L.A. is where Im supposed to do that at. I have 2 children and that's where I start to get fearful bc I worry about all of us ending up on the streets. Idk what a hostile is but I'll check it out. Great video. ☺

Thank you reposting this video. I am pacing back and forth wiping my eyes. I moved to koreatown California with some sort of plan and was there for a short while before the friend that I was staying with asking me to leave because her boyfriend didn't like that I had a couch there. of course he was okay at first but then started to feel a little shaky about it. I then met a lady that that I got into a relationship with and she allowed me to stay in her place in Culver City. I originally moved there to work for a game company doing 3D environments. I've been in the last year studying visual effects for film and I plan to move back. I even tried to start my own company in the event space industry. I feel like I have lead boots when it comes to the idea of moving back but I know deeply that that is where I belong. Your video was very inspiring and I knew about burning the ships long ago but a lot of family and friends convince you to stay in the shallow water where they are because it's safe. Perhaps when I kick those boots off and make the steps I can shake your hand someday.

I have a feeling in my gut that I'm suppose to move to L.A. even though I know absolutely nothing about it. It's just this feeling that I need to look into it. I've always wanted to live in a city. Even when I was just a little child like, 7 years old, I've had this feeling that I'm not meant to be in the areas I have lived in deep in South Ga. But I can barely save up 500$ and right now I'm in college. But I have a feeling I just may need to hold off on it...Like if I don't hold it off...something else will. An opportunity to move? I have nothing holding me back but money. I have bills that total over 500$ and so I just can't risk not having a job. xD I don't need the Feds on my ass. xD I've been questioning my major, questioning if I want to live in the place the college I planned on transferring to is really where I want to be. URRRRRGGGG

Go out there for a week or two. Get a feel for the place to see if it's somewhere you envision yourself living. That's what I did. Then start planning once you get back if that's what you want to do. Best of luck!

I recently came to the decision to move out there from florida to work on my voice acting career and i constantly find myself going back and forth thinking 'but what about my family?' 'What if i fail' and after watching this i realize, my family is still going to be here when i leave. And i can always visit. So now its all a matter of preparing what i need, and getting out of here. Because there is no career for me over here.

Nick Harrison it went pretty much. About a 45 hour drive with two of my friends. One of them went back after a week (was just visiting Cali) and the other is my Roomate now. Cali is expensive but you will find ways to make it work.
Actually I posted a video on it on my UA-cam channel or at DeandreGilberry.com
But not really trying to promote anything since this is his channel but if you are curious in learning a bit more about the move to LA then feel free to watch it on either platforms.
      Enjoy!

You can go to Burbank Central Casting and register which is quick and you can bring different outfits to change into. You can then add them on FB and look for jobs. It's like $125 a day. But you will need a car to get jobs and it's good to have a variety of clothes so to be ready for different parts. You will eat like king on set so no need to worry about food money as well as you can pack a to go plate 😁 Also housekeeping for rich is option as well as doing parties. Go to where the wealthy go and mingle.... Miracles do happen
