I read somewhere that Suh was so dominant on the D-line that Nebraska played a dime defense essentially the entire 2009 season because they didn't need the linebacking help. The fact he didn't win the Heisman shows you can't take that trophy seriously and how lazy the voting has become. Like we're supposed to actually believe the best player in the country every year just happens to be the QB of the #1 ranked team.

One year one of Lott's teammates told him Phil Simms was shit talking Ronnie before a playoff game between the 49ers and Giants when both teams were at their peaks. At some point in the game Lott's teammate pulled him off of Simms and told him he made it up because he was afraid of what Lott was going to do. He said it was actually scary watching one of the best defensive back hitters of all time trying to punish the Giants on every play.

However, every year you spend going hard in the trenches in the NFL is literally taking years off of your life and diminishing your quality of life after football. So my guess is it had more to do with that than pure laziness, and the story about how smart and savvy he is (corresponding with Warren Buffet, etc.) checks out.
