What I love about them the most is that she liked him for him, not because he started to win karate fights.
I was at first not excited to see Yasmine's return in season 3, but I love how she turned out and became a bit more humbled.
Now that Tory has revealed her true colors, she makes Yasmine look like a saint.

I love how Yasmine, Demetri, and Moon were able to develop their character throughout the series, and they eventually became one of my favorite characters.

2:26 He's not wrong. I mean, she didn't immediately walk away when he approached her. She made faces, but she actually stood and listened to him for a bit before she snapped back into "wait, I'm not supposed to socialize with his type" mode. It was extremely subtle, but the hint was there. Hence he was able to work his way through the crack in her armor in season 3, when he played to his strengths and was a little more confident (and she was a bit less confident).

Great ship. It plays with the "geek gets the popular girl" trope in the best way. He gets the girl because he works out and learns to defend himself, he improves his social standing, and starts speaking to her with self-confidence and charm. Plus she lost some of her popularity and gained some perspective of her own. But it's really a "you're the banter partner I've been looking for" kind of a relationship, which makes it even better.
Exactly, he doesn't just get the girl because of lazy plot writing. He shows balls by daring to improve himself, he shows his wit by matching her verbal jabs, and he shows persistence by flirting with her despite her alleged rejections of his advances. He may look like a nerd but he shows he has the heart of a chad.
Whoever did her hair and makeup deserve a big raise! Just some adjustments in hair and makeup and she looks from a mean girl to a more likable person

If Kyler lost to Miguel right after he learned to walk again, then I’m pretty sure Demetri can beat him.
I think Demetri is the smartest and the most mature of all the kids in the show. Sam, Miguel, Hawk, Robbie... all these characters at one point, are under the influence of another character that makes them act not being true to themselves (Sam was influenced by "evil" Yasmine, Miguel won the tourney but not in a honorable way, Hawk became a dick, Robbie started as a thief and finished with Kreese).
Demetri has been a nerd from the start to the end, he saw right through Kreese after they met and knew they guy was crazy. He doesn't have a redemption arc because he doesn't need to be redeemed. And of course, whereas other caracthers struggle to forgive the mistakes of their friends, like Sam for example, struggled to make peace with Aisha (long time friend), Robbie cannot forgive Daniel... Demetri, however, forgives Hawk from the very first second he asked for forgiveness.
He is loyal to himself and to his friends.
Absolutely. He has never changed. Other than being a bit whiny at times (he really tested Daniel’s patience during Miyagi-do training sessions), and two incidents where he incited Eli/Hawk (the roast at Moon’s party, and the gym class soccer game), he has been, for the most part, the most moral of the students.
Well its like I always say, Daniel was teaching him and the other Miyagi Dos about forgiveness, and the quote about vengeance digs up two Graves. So it makes even more sense for him to forgive Hawk because it applies to what hes learning.
@@daviderickson115yeah he could be whiny, but I loved Daniel's initial reaction because he was probably thinking, "Oh god tell me I wasn't THIS bad with Mr. Miyagi." The only time I ever got annoyed with him was when he was touching Kreese after demanding safety for his personal space, only to invade another's personal space.
I'm still cracking up at the sexual Venn Diagram and "Thorn in my t*ts" comments. So funny!

At 5:17 is when she really came in sync with him. It's a subtle beat but it is a huge turn around in their relationship on the show. She realizes just how open and honest Demetri is.

one of my favourite couples in the show honestly. they’re a silly and cute couple and i like their relationship development. the way yasmine likes demetri so much in season 4 was really sweet.
This was totaly expected for me. Everybody had their crush at the loseres' table (Miguel, Elia/Hawk, Demetri) at the cool girls' table (Moon, Samantha, Yasmin). And in the real life almost every cool girls secretly have a crush to a nerd/geek.

I like Demetri because throughout the series he's always been true to himself and never changed who he was. The only thing that actually changed was that he became more confident and even then, at the start of the series he wasn't really ever down on himself like Eli or Miguel were.

We need to see an eventual friction between the two between the two friends, which will make the healing and forgiveness process easier.
Not that idea isn’t great, since their first conversation (Miguel, Eli, and Demetri’s) foreshadows the story line. But I think it would be better if Hawk and Moon didn’t get back together. Relationships aren’t always forever and now that Hawk’s life is going uphill, he will be getting use to the fact that he can’t just kick his problems in the face anymore.

Buying some fun school lunches were awesome back in the day. Either Nachos or extra crispy French fries in Jr. High we’re my go to.

Tbh after seeing demetri in season 3 after aging a bit since season 1, he looks like he could fit in with the popular and good looking kids (not saying he’s ugly) if he dropped the nerdy attitude and got more confidence, and maybe a wardrobe change. But he’s awesome as who he is and it’s what makes him demetri, it was just a thought that popped into my head
I like he was able to get the girl without changing unlike Eli/Hawk.
He has the makings of a popular, athletic geek type. All he has to do is put on a little muscle mass (not hard since Karate has given him some athleticism) and - like you said - change up his wardrobe a bit and he'd clean right the fuck up.
The part that got me annoyed is when Kyler made fun of Demetri because Demetri could probably kick his ass now he just has a broken arm
Kyler is coward, as every real life bully, they usually attack only ones who can't fight back.

In my opinion, Demetri had the most organic character development in the series, and it wasn't driven by a romantic triangle.
You can see how much he struggled to improve in Miyagi-Do, how he finds himself a place where he belongs and even earns the respect of others just by being himself rather than letting Karate do all the job for his popularity. The relationship with Yasmine was something i wouldn't have expected prior season 3, but i am so glad it happened.
