- Tom DeLonge spoke to us over Zoom from his California home to chat through his new music with Angels & Airwaves including recent singles 'All That's Left Is Love' and 'Kiss And Tell'. Plus, he tells us why he believes their upcoming new album, due out later in 2020, includes some of the best music he has ever written, from hard punk sounds to soaring synth melodies. Elsewhere, we chat about the possibility of a comeback for his Box Car Racer project with Travis Barker. Finally, he talks returning to the live stage for a huge US tour last year and why he chose to include the Blink-182 classic 'Aliens Exist' in the setlist.

Also because it was nice seeing this new divorced Tom rebirth, it reflects a lot in the song and the music video and looks like he's really vibing and having fun.

Tom's voice instantly puts me in a good mood - no matter what band he's singing with. I used to think I was a Blink fan -- once I discovered AVA, I realized I'm more of a Tom-fan.
That’s literally me as well. It’s like no matter what i’m hearing from him, it’s all amazing. From Ava, to Blink, to Boxcar Racer to his solo album, it’s all so amazing.

He just has a way of lighting up the world around him.
I used to think Mark was so awesome, but after hearing him after he's not really around tom, and is instead around others more... i realized I do love Mark, but, I love Tom's Mark.
Tom is just fucking magical. Tom is LIFE.

Tom chose to not be a big deal. He didn't want to be played on the radio, no big ads, and no big arena tours. He talks about it openly.

Everything he did from 97-2003 will forever be legendary. The emotion conveyed in those years will always be unparalleled.
I love this man so much. He's so wholesome and Angels and Airwaves has single handedly helped me get through some really dark times in my life. To me, Tom Delonge is a gift.
I was so bitter about Tom leaving Blink. For years I refused to even listen to Angels and Airwaves songs. I am happy to admit that I was wrong, I love Angels and Airwaves' music.
I absolutely love Kiss and Tell, I don't even know why but its just incredible.
I saw AVA live in Milwaukee back in December, it was my first time seeing Tom perform live and I've gotta say, you could tell magic was in the air. He sounded great, and finally being able to see the person I've idolized for years perform in their element, let alone 10 feet from the stage was just breathtaking. Definitely one of the best concerts I've been to. They were the midliner so they skipped the acoustic medley which was sort of sad, but seeing the videos is so great honestly.

Tom really seems like he grew the most out of all of Blink. He seems to have really come into his own since he went off on his own.
Let’s be honest though. The aliens found him and did stuff to him, changing him forever.
Of course he did, have you heard Mark and Skiba ? Still singing about drinking on the weekend and first loves. New Blink is aimed at fortnite players.

Such an awesome interview! I love when Tom talks about his music, his creativity and his personal challenges and growth. I also love the positive energy and themes of his Angels And Airwaves music ... Love, Hope, Spirituality, etc. As much as I love Blink, I'm glad Tom moved on and followed his own path to a new and different level of creativity and maturity. I look forward to the new AVA album and as I type this I'm inspired to write and record more of my own music.

Tom is amazing and i love everything he makes, I've only heard of a couple Angels & Airwaves songs but man i love them. Rebel Girl is beautiful and i can't get enough of that song. Amazing stuff.

Caught the show in Dallas, it made my heart fill up with joy when you played "Aliens Exist" and the entire crowd ended the song "Tom Has Sex With GUYYYS." We still love you. I grew up with Dude Ranch up to now. But I have to admit, I love Angels way more than Blink now. Tom's vocals and melodic choruses and guitar hooks are incredible.

We will only get one Tom DeLonge in our life. He is the most inspirational person ever! Wish he would make more BoxCarRacer music! He did tease it so it may be in the works. You can tell he’s going thru a tough time cause the world has truly changed before our eyes.

He’s doing his own thing right now with AVA and BCR probably won’t happen would be surprised if he got that back together instead of going back to Blink for a reunion tour. Cool to see this new interview/chat with Tom our a real perspective on what idea he has and what he is doing.

I have a lot of time for Tom. Yes him leaving blink was heartbreaking but he seems so happy in what he’s doing and just seems in a good place, and we’re getting interviews like this from him! Good interviewing as well, sick of people making him out to be a nutcase. He knows what he wants to do and he’s doing it, if it makes him happy leave him be. And it seems like he’s right.
Agreed. People keep asking him "When are you gonna rejoin Blink" or "When's Boxcar Racer coming back?". I'm sure it bugs the shit out of him deep down. Just let him do his thing. Besides if he wanted to he'd never have to work again.
