I've heard Maarten sing this first than I've listened the original, to see how good this song could be.. that was dissapointing. In the performance of Maarten this song has 3 times the power.. actually I'm coming back and back to listen his version over RBs. Absolutely great job man!

A bit unfair on Mike Kerr from Royal Blood (who are a duo) who also plays the guitar when he sings this- whereas Maartin has a backing band. The live version from Jools Holland show Later is excellent.

Female judge (second turner): Good evening
Me: Hi
Male judge with tie (final turner): What's your name?
Me: euhm, my name is ... Maarten.
Male: Thinking for a second there.
Me: yes, I don't have my ID with me.
Second turner: Ah ok. It's always difficult to rock in this studio made of the blackest, smoothest sapphires, so I'm always like "ooh". But all doubts melted like snow in the sun. It was sung really well.
Me: Thanks you.
Final turner: I had the impression when these two gentlemen turned around, you had an extra push to give some extra power, positive speaking. That's why I turned so late.

Accidentally, I'm a big fan of Roya Blood because of my past: 10 years I've been the drummer of the Clement Peerens Explosition (a Belgian satire rock band, red.), they are like the international Clement Peerens Explosition. The only thing I think you can do slightly better, is to *open your chest* (Belgian impression to say you have to show more of yourself).
Me: I can, because I have a *big chest* (referring to my upper body).
First turner: Yes, you have a big chest, so it should be a bit more open.
Judge in shirt (did not turn): But look, you're going to the next round, only to decide...

No turner: Bent, Natalia or Bart?
Me: wow, so many choices. Oh man. I'll stick to the choice I made in advance with a scenario like this. So I choose Bent.
