Fun facts to help make you smarter: this has a 1.65 inch, 4 watt speaker. It's identical to the echo dot speaker. The sound comes out of the vents along the bottom of the screen.

I don't have any Echo devices, all I really need it to do is adjust my thermostat, turn on some lights and check my video doorbell and security cameras without having to use my phone or tablet. I have much better devices for watching videos, movies , tv and listening to music. Would the Echo Show 5 be perfect for that? Should also point out that I don't video chat or care how good or bad the camera is. Thanks
Is a screen shield needed or is it strong enough. Kind of bumbed now i didn't get these to replace my dots. Since have ring would not need phone to view when home. Sure they will have it for that again with trade up options

It does not have apple music or any of those subscriptions but you can use Bluetooth to cast music to it unless the app has a built-in cast but then you can cast to it from Pandora or iHeart Radio and stuff like that or you can stream music from that device the Echo Show 5 to a Bluetooth speaker so then it sounds better I'm not saying it doesn't sound good I'm just saying so it does sound better

Can you set these up and connect to wifi without using the touchscreen display? only ask, as I'm vision impaired, so unless it speaks words and characters as I'm entering wifi and Amazon details, these are actually Echo No Gos unless a friend relative, support worker Etc, sets them up.
If you had done one quick google search, you'd have known that in fact, it does have an ambient light sensor. Also, would it kill you to bleep the wake word? Other than that, a decent overview.
It makes a hell of a lot more sense for the content creator to bleep or mute the wake word than for the potentially thousands of viewers to have to mute their devices.

We like the audio quality of the Echo Show 5 . . . Until . . . you pair a bluetooth device, or an Amazon remote. After disconnecting the bluetooth, the built in speaker looses it’s fidelity and sounds very tinny. To return the fidelity to the built-in speakers, I have to unplug the power and plug it back in. Also, when I paired the Amazon remote, the mic function did not work; all the other features worked. I had to pair the Amazon remote to my Echo Dot, and then the remote updated itself and the mic function would work on the Echo Show 5. I may just have a faulty device.
I’m not quite sure what you mean? But if you are saying it will read out what you touch, go to settings then to accessibility and turn off voice view screen reader. 😀

David Lari just mute your alexas, doesn’t kill, a lot easier then him bleeping out all the words, and gives an all around better given experience
