@@rohitpatra3650 you can experience all of that in the smaller pujas of Kolkata as well!! Societies and smaller cultural clubs arrange pujas for the local people. These don't get as much coverage as the bigger ones as people from all around kolkata don't flock to them.

It's been 10 years for me guys. I actually became emotional sitting in my Toronto home. And they are right, I have seen Durga Puja in Bangalore, Hyderabad, California, Alabama and this year in Toronto but nothing can match Puja in Kolkata.
I am a north Indian who was born and brought up in a mix pot of Bihari, Jharkhand, UP, Bengali and Oriya culture. I can genuinely say if I miss something from Durga puja or any puja that happens now is how mature and respectful people of Bengal still treat Visarjan. This is how it should be done, with feeling of piousness and togetherness, not with men and kids dancing high on vulgar songs while taking the procession for Visarjan.

It's been 10 years for me guys. I actually became emotional sitting in my Toronto home. And they are right, I have seen Durga Puja in Bangalore, Hyderabad, California, Alabama and this year in Toronto but nothing can match Puja in Kolkata.

I am a north Indian who was born and brought up in a mix pot of Bihari, Jharkhand, UP, Bengali and Oriya culture. I can genuinely say if I miss something from Durga puja or any puja that happens now is how mature and respectful people of Bengal still treat Visarjan. This is how it should be done, with feeling of piousness and togetherness, not with men and kids dancing high on vulgar songs while taking the procession for Visarjan.
