I was thinking the same! Lol where I live they probably wouldn't even let you on the bus with a tree, but maybe it's more common in areas where less people drive or have cars.
I have delivered a fair share of Christmas trees home on the bus through the years :) Sometimes they were so tall, that could hardly fit under the roof.
First off, I constantly get the nest in my long hair, nightmare. Second, how you decorated your tree is exactly how my family does it. We have the ancient wooden bandsmen, no two decorations are the same, no wasted space. I lost my mam earlier this year and we always did the tree together so I’ve been real apprehensive about doing it. This brought back good memories so thank you, Lucy. Your tree looks amazing!
My Christmas tree has ornaments dating back to the 70s from my grandma and when my mom was younger. I love the look of aesthetic color coordinated trees but I love the nostalgia of the handmade ones from when I was a kid and the Hallmark ornaments I get each year. I also collect them from every trip I go on, lots of Disney ones. I vow to never have a matchy matchy tree. I like personality and spark!

16:45 those figurines are traditionally German Christmas decorations and done in German folk art. (It's art, ok? 😂😂) They originate in the ore mountains (erzgebirge). This year all rules are out the window. My local WhatsApp neighbourhood group agreed we would all put lights in our windows early this year to cheer us all up. So on the 20th of November most of us put some up and I have to say I have never seen so many lights before and it really does cheer us all up. When I was putting mine up I heard a noise and looked outside to see two little girls waving at me looking so excited and they shouted "We love your lights" and it made all the effort wortwhile to see the excitement on their faces. Would normally not put my lights up until around the 8th of December. Your tree looks amazing Lucy. Just like a proper xmas tree should look. I l♡ve it! Still hate that cheetah though 😕
Yes to breakfast hash! I put kale or spinach in as well door token green & a bit of grated cheese. I'm growing my hair to donate it for wig making so can agree with 'the nest' I have to throw my hair over the back of my pillow when I sleep otherwise I throttle myself and end up with a bigger all-over nest

As a child, growing up in Australia, we always had a real tree but we got it the weekend before Christmas - because it's so hot over Christmas that the poor tree wouldn't last much longer!! Whitehall Garden Centre has two centres, one near Trowbridge, Wiltshire, and one on the outskirts of Bristol, near me. Their bauble collection is INCREDIBLE. I took my daughter to meet Father Christmas there, last year, and I must have spent a good hour just looking at (and spent a fair few pennies on) some beautiful decorations.
Have a look on Typo, they have got some really lovely retro style ones, and some funny ones (santa pulling a moonie anyone?!), some of them are on offer, in case you want to stock up on some more for next year! Your tree and decs look sooo lovely and cosy. On another note, Die Hard is our christmas eve tradition, we watch it on Christmas eve every year.
The "crazy" ornaments are based on German Erzgebirge region wooden ornaments, which are handmade and lovely - at some point that one set of designs got ripped off and reproduced around the world it seems, because I also grew up with exactly that set a long way from Germany! I can't believe anyone finds them creepy, they're so nostalgic for me ❤I might actually buy a new set this year, I had no idea you still could

Especially the ones no one knows where they came from...my mum gifted the mini version to me. I loved the fluffy beard one as a kid. But really they were all the best. 30 year later I am still putting the originals on my parents tree. ⭐️ The School of Rock in the top movie group comment. ⭐️ Any feature of Flo which reminds me of my cat girl Jana 🐱

We always set up the christmas tree the weekend after Sinterklaas (which is on the 5th of December), a national holiday over here in the Netherlands. Now we set up the christmas tree in November 🤷♀️ Feel like covid makes people put up trees earlier then ‘normal’ 🙈

The nest is so relatable. It’s one of the main reasons I just chopped about 8inches off my hair and got it thinned out lol.
