Looks like Utah F&G is doing a great job. I wish that I could say the same about Idaho. 3# brookies, hell yeah!!.

There are no Arctic grayling in Europe.
Only the European grayling (Thymallus thymallus) is native to Europe, even in the Arctic regions.

i am going to the lake you caught the trophy brookie at this weekend. we went there just over a month ago and fished from shore but we didnt have much success. i am thinking of hiking float tubes into there. i was wondering what techniques work best there.

I recently had some great success up there fishing with a fly rod an Rio Midge-Tip line (da bomb!). They were hitting leeches (olive, blood), hares ears, pheasant tails, chironomids, and wooly buggers. If you don't have fly tackle, small jigs (green or tan). We were not fishing that specific lake, but the entomology should be similar. It was difficult trying to find what they wouldn't bite on. Another thing that likely helped in our success was the various temperature changes that occurred throughout the day we were there. From sunshine to snow and back. Our arms were sore at the end of the day from fighting trophy trout. Amazing place.

The answer is the Big Hole river of Montana.

We actually had a remnant population of Montana grayling in the Belly River system in Alberta. Word has it thought they no longer exist.

@@mikejessmax that is a huge shame!
We are very focused on leveraging private land to help save sensitive stocks of trout and salmon. Lots of people love the idea of enjoying while they help the fish. www.aquahabitat.com/wildlife.refuge.trout.conservation.html

Great to see you're not naming names. It's way too easy to exploit formerly-secret spots already in these days of GPS, ATVs, and LAZY. Folks need to slow down and explore or they will miss the point.

well the gps is a good thing. with the help of gps I have found many new fishing spots. if anything the gps has helped me get out and explore more.

FishTech lost my business years ago. Very snobbish owners that act like it's a chore to help customers. I dealt personally with the guy in this video Mickey, and he was unpleasant.

We find that very hard to believe. Mickey is one of the nicest guys we know.

@Paul Freedom anytime someone asked me why I needed a larger net, I let um know it's for the big ass carp I take with my fly rod!

If other fishermen get mad at locations shared that’s BS and who really cares. Share the name and location… not everyone has access to a sidexside and has the money to go there. So quit with the BS!!!
