Daewon is incredible. All class and talent. Humble as hell. Has barely aged since Round Three.
When he clowned himself for blaming the trucks I died laughing 😆 hella humble dude
What an epic skate vid that was.
Round three was fire. Talking about what I grew up on. Good stuff!
That’s because he isn’t old and doesn’t know the realities of life & war. I know I have.

“I had a dream, this morning… I was doing a buttery back heel”. I love you Daewon! Always have.
I love having dreams where I skate super good lol
It's amazing to still see Daewon in the skateboard scene. He really is a living legend.
Hes still better than most young pros too.
@Chris Dague ?? idk where you got that, these guys are very kind and respectful. Not to mention, you are watching a clip, not the whole thing...
I’ve lived longer than him, he is nothing special. He hasn’t fought in a war.
@@GardenGuy1942 thanks for sharing Karen
@@GardenGuy1942 There's infinitely more people that have fought in a war than have accomplished what Daewon has. So maybe you're even less special.
Daewon doing a UA-cam channel would be incredible. He has the personality for it and his creativity in spots and tricks would be wild
Do one, Daewon!
Daewon is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs
I could watch Daewon talk about what he does to stay so healthy and active at his age
I think he is too much of a family man, too busy, to be sitting editing videos for youtube.
He uploads enough content on his IG to make a whole YT channel, its already there
the "Truck Chef" w/ Daewon Song. I'd def watch that!
lol. “Shavin down the bush”
The world needs a final Rodney vs daewon
Daewon is somehow underrated even as one of the goats. Still killing it .
nobody thinks that tbh
underrated? Daewon is Legend
Wow, I remember riding bmx back in the day in the south bay and we would run into this guy all the time at the local skateparks! Cool ass dude, very humble and always had good vibes. When he would pull up to the skatepark we'd all get out of his way and just watch him and his buddies SHRED!!! I really miss those days man...
I’m glad he addressed Matt Rodriguez been telling kids for a min about this dude on how he pioneered the loose cruiser tech steeze ❤
As a kid I always figured that Daewon was just so good that he had to skate without bushings to even feel challenged
Daewon is such an inspirational dude. When I was a kid, maybe 10 or 11 I remember watching him kill it in Rodney Mullen vs Daewon Song and being in awe of what he could do on a board. The technical tricks this guy would do on stacked picnic tables and picnic tables stacked on the edges of rooftops and whatnot. He was incredible.
Now I’m 35 and haven’t been on a board in many years but I still come across this guy on Instagram. Watching someone that has at least a good ten or fifteen years on me in age yet continued pushing himself athletically in a sport I gave up a long time ago is really inspiring.
My guy really said he was a truck chef. 7:54 I'm actually dying laughing. What a legend.
yeah so hilarious..hahah wow so funny
I didnt think it was funny.
@@GardenGuy1942 thank you. You are a saint and a scholar.
@@GardenGuy1942 Thank you for your wisdom dean.
@@ReanuKeevesAus thank you, have a blessed day
Grind King was such a big deal back in the day. Every kid I knew had them and swore they were going to grind through to the king pin to get the 'money back guarantee'. Not one of us did it, but we thought we were so cool...And we were. Good times. 🤪
I had the flame base plates so cool lol
I had those candy blue baseplates. Wore a few to the axle. They're warrenty is like Tensors, you have to beg for a few months or just buy new ones.
Yup I had them and many of my friends
They had the kingpins out before the full trucks IIRC.
Bruh i met daewon in person at my job at universal studios hollywood and it was the coolest moment in my life cuz instantly recognized him even in the dark all the celebs and actor i seen and even talked to meeeting daewon face to face randomly at your job as a skateboarder was the coolest moments in my life
Me and Jeff LeBarron went filming w Dae at a school where he was kickflipping a huge roof to container, during the Artafact days, and seeing his trucks looking like they did I was awe struck and realized that this dude is not from this planet. Much love Daewon and Jeff ! Legends forever
I was at that tour in Australia, black label vs deca. Never forget daewon doing 360 flips to fakie on the quarter pipe, and Dustin shredding the flat bar. Kuraby skate park
I was there too! Dustin kickflip front blunt on the flat bar blew my mind
I like how he ignores Rob’s interruptions haha. More should do that
Daewon always been my favorite skater and he's such a cool and humble guy.
my favorite episode. so funny, Daewon is incredible one of a kind person. such a legend. and low key hillariously funny.
I used to know this guy named Sam who skated at my local park and he is the only person I’ve known who had super lose trucks just like daewons. It was like a novelty at the park kids would always try to ride his board and trip out on it and he would try to get people to drop in on it 😂 it was like a 9 inch old school board with crazy loose rattling trucks and he could kill vert on it like nobody’s business
He is the guy who played mw2 on sens 10 all the time
I kept yelling "Tensor Trucks" the whole time they were guessing his trucks. Daewon, thanks for everything you do!
Daewon Song is one of my first inspirations as a kid, that Almost Round 3 part was so incredible. Glad to see he's doing good 😊
Met daewon at ayala park here in chino. Super chill dude.
I was at that demo ... Kuraby skatepark ,We all watched him take his rubbers out and he friggin killed it ... Never forget that day ... Mike valley did a kickflip something over the hip 😮 mind blown
I always forget how soft his voice is. Dude is an absolute animal. A true GOAT in the sport
Rodney, haslam and daewon are the 3 best skaters on the planet to me. Almost back in the early 2000s was the fucking team putting everyone to shame
grind kings you always had to carry the tool!
Daewon is the absolute GOAT And somehow hasn’t aged
Everyones reminder that Almost "Cheese and Crackers" is still one of the best skate videos ever.
Once saw daewon skating in Santa Fe springs on my lunch break never been so amazed over how fast he can manual
It's cool that he mentioned the dream thing. I used to really struggle with even riding the board when I first started (due to club foot and a weak left leg). Then one night I had a dream where everything felt super natural and suddenly made sense. When I woke up I still felt that way and improved an insane amount literally over night. This is the first time I've heard of someone having a similar experience.
Dreams are like software updates for the brain, I haven't had this experience specifically but I've solved math problems I was struggling with in my dreams, programming issues, thought of where to look for something I lost and found it, it's crazy
I used to bmx in high school like 15 years ago. I still have dreams where I’m hopping up curves, and jamming down hills with hella wind in my face. It’s one of the things I’m glad my brain remembers.
My friend got trench foot. You need to stop complaining, this young generation needs to man up.
This happens to me and they used to be “nightmares” id have a dream doing something that I did everyday, playing certain games, skating, warehouse work, mechanic work, these dreams felt like nightmares at first because other people described them as nightmares for example. My boss would always complain about having dreams that his room was full of boxes from work…. Over time having these dreams more and more made me feel “at home” with situations that were difficult or stressful.. this really helped with driving cars
@@GardenGuy1942 Sorry to hear about your friend, man. I'm sure trench foot is much worse than anything I've got going on. I was just explaining why it was difficult for me to start my boarding journey. My left leg and foot didn't develop properly and before I started practicing I could barely balance on it or even move my foot very much. I used skateboarding specifically to "man up" as you say and strengthen it. It was a brilliant success. Since then I can do things with my left foot that I never thought I'd be able to. Anyways I hope you're having a good day, brother. Peace and love! ✌️😁
Daewon is one of the guys who you always want to be! So Rad. to hear him in a Nine Club interview!! Thnks Nine Club Clips team!
Daewon killed it at the Boston demo a few years ago. Didn’t hesitate for a photo, wicked nice dude! He was on the bank when we took the photo, so he ended up taller in the photo, confused everybody.
I really enjoy the fact that this podcast exists.
I remember hearing about this back in the day, Daewon is an absolute LEGEND!
yo daewon was always a legend to me his style is unmatched steezy guy on and off the board
I feel Daewon on trying to get your trucks exactly how you like them. Switching trucks can be a nightmare.
Do a board setup video with him!
Love Daewon- fucking legend and a great conversation to boot.
So chill and an absolute legend
This was such a cool cast
this guy was on my ps1 game grind session. He's still skating.. at the highest level..
Matt Rodriguez is that GUY GUY!!
Great interview. One of the greats with a cool attitude!
Thanks guys!
We really do need Daewon to do a video giving us a full set up review!
The thumbnail looks like really funny and when you see that truck with no bushings there is no choice but to laugh to yourself, those bushings look hardcore.
For worn out kingpin locknuts that come loose because the nylon part that is supposed to keep the nut tight is worn out you can use liquid locktight or tape locktight the kind for plumbing pipes or even a tiny piece of masking tape sticked onto the top part of the kingpin bolt then installing the worn nut on there will keep it on there and not unscrew. 😊
I love how the title is actually the introduction to the video and gets right to it. I will like and subscribe solely for no click bait.
I love how t puds was drinking his beer out of the coffee cup so discreetly. Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Daewon's mad funny
What exact is, "mad funny"..??
Daewon has inspired me since i was 13. First time i saw him skate in I.E. blew my mind. He's the man
I remember being a kid watching his cheese and crackers part he was my fav skater
"A truck chef" - legit haha
So lucky to see Daweon and Chris at the park weekly
No way you mean Chris Haslem right?! That’s gnar must be one of em Long Beach parks
@justicewinter5846 yes sir , it's so cool dude like your setting up for a line than they cut you off( accidentally)and your like no worries PRO!
@@justicewinter5846 if it’s Chris Haslam it may be the Richmond skatepark in Vancouver, BC, Canada. That’s his home park. I used to see him skate there in late 90’s, early 00’s and I didn’t even know his first name.
Daewon is super cool. Legend. I hope he starts a UA-cam channel, I would definitely watch.
Matt Rodriguez isn't dead. He is just a legend.
truck chef should definitely be a segment
Who else was searching for Daewon's channel as soon as he said it only to shortly after hear him say he doesn't have one? 🤣
My first powell deck was the Ray Underhill chains deck back in the day. I wish Ray was still around. Nice to hear his name
That Matt Rodriguez part though
Kuddos for using precarious describing his trucks😂😂😂
If you loosen my trucks, I stop being a skater.
I remember when I was younger skating (200-2004) people hated on Daewon and Rodney because people didn't really appreciate technical skating. Back then it was all about huge gaps, big stair sets, etc. Think Anti-hero, Osiries the storm, Menikmati and shit. Even most of my lil crew was that way. I always liked the technical shit. Makes me proud to see these dudes getting their roses.
Skate or fucking die! Respect.
Neon green Gullwings, on a neon green Gator. One of about 60 set up’s I have a vivid memory of.
I had some Grind King camouflage “self loosening” trucks on my first decent setup. They had an Allen key hole to tighten the kingpin and i couldn’t wait to get rid of them.
Daewon is a national treasure
'Truck Chef' so good! excellent DW!
Respect for bringing up Matt Rodriguez, dude had crazy loose trucks
7:09 "Shaving the bush?" - Noice!
Brought my son the "my first skateboard" book for his first Christmas good read
“SHAVING THE BUSH”
This guy is the greatest ever, nobody will be better than him until he retires.
I know Daewon. I didn't realize how funny he was. This is some epic storytelling...
"Shaving the bush!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The clip of mat rattling his board back around for another run up and then landing in a clip I always laugh I remember that
There is no one radder than Daewon! Hell yah brotha
Best set of trucks I’ve ever had were a Jerry rigged venture base and a krux top. My complete was stolen and I was able to cobble together old trucks I had laying around. Rode those for years and had such a good groove worn into them from grinding.
T shirt idea,
"Buttery since Daewon."
didnt expect that 🔥
"It's a ride, and it's to be enjoyed." ~ Matt Rodriguez
It's funny... Daewon says Matt was the first but watch the video Loose Trucks" Matt says others came before him too.
"We need to talk about his bushings real quick...!"
daewons adidas jacket goes fucking hard god damn
That’s how imma open the door for myself from now on 😂😂😂😂
My favorite skateboarder to hear talk I could listen to him for hours
I don’t know how this genius skates with his trucks so loose but let’s just be glad he can
Has been my favorite skater since the early 90s and still to this day!!!!
got hella stoked to see EZ-7 in this
With the front truck looser than the back one, you also get more of a surf feeling in my opinion.
Cardiel did that
0:56 ❤
cant believe i met this man in his prime years
Daewon 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
The videos we would see as kids and want to be! A true legend for real..
When your ankle is a cinder block, you adapt.
when my friends say my loose are sketchy i say "it could get sketchier. i'm not daewon and matt Rodriguez."
Daewons like: 😴😶” I just learned Kung fu.”
Manscape ad was hillarious
I feel like the grind king trucks unscrewing explains the trucks that flew off over the years.
So amazing, remember growing up skating and when Rodney Mullen VS Deaeon Song prt.#1 & prt.#2 came out.... It blew my mind, another VHS I wore out from rewinding so many times
