    The opening statements, "You have to have big hands and I was tall . . . " 1952 our elementary school orchestra needed some students to learn cello. My friend and I applied. The teacher said, "You're taller than the other kids. Why don't you learn to play the string bass?" At that age you often do what your teacher suggests. By the time I was in high school I was earning money playing for school dances. No regrets at all. Sixty seven years later my string bass is leaning in the corner and I'm smiling.

      @@yuvinkang5189 I'm retired and have a lot of time to spend on the internet. I don't play in groups any longer but I really enjoy all the young bass players on youtube. They play much, much better than I used to play.
