I didn’t know about Sam Raimi’s lost Spiderman scenes. Definitely interested especially when Sam Raimi normally releases everything that was filmed like he did for “Army of Darkness”
There was a lot of things cut from Spider-Man 3, I remember watching a longer and more frightening version my first time, I then remember the ending being changed or something the second. We were robbed from having a better Venom and longer scenes like Sandman's wife and daughter having more screentime and the black suit being swung with more often.
I worked at a Goodwill, and you know... I can't imagine how many VHS's have been lost to the dumpsters of corporate thrift stores than see them as unprofitable. I rescued The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, Pink Floyd's original version of PULSE and the very off Pink Floyd race car film "La Carrera Panamerica" from the dumpster when I worked there. Not super rare, but not common. I also rescued a Nintendo 2DS and a 1950s Fuld Ouija board from it. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT donate to places like that. It's easy to offload stuff you don't want, sure, but the corporate thrift store chains are never looking out for anything other than fattening their pockets. Edit: You have the correct opinion of Spiderman 3.
Amazing Spider-Man movies were also butchered too. Marc Webb the director even said in the commentary audio amazing Spider-Man 1 original cut was 4 hours. Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a great deleted scenes of Peter almost killing Harry for Gwen’s death. I still to this day wish we could see the the original cuts to both movies!
TBH I don't really think the Spider-Man deleted scenes are lost. A lot of random deleted scenes have made their way online. They had the material to make a new cut of Spider-Man 3 a decade later. They are probably well preserved. Issue is Sony doesn't want to shell out the money needed to release the scenes, which is kinda understandable. I mean, 20+ year film that would need to be scanned in. It's the 20 year anniversary of the Raimi trilogy, they might release new cuts to ride on the hype.

Wow, Morbius grossed $352 TRILLION worldwide?! 😳 That’s gonna be a tough record to beat 😂 The Spider-Man PSA is interesting in that Spidey’s character model closely resembles his ‘67 and/or ‘81 cartoon version, but the design of the other characters make them look like they should be in a totally different show 😅 I wonder if the production company actually lifted artwork from existing cels for Spidey and just drew the other characters around him 🤔 Also worth noting re: Golden Bat, there are two lost or otherwise unavailable films aside from the ‘66 one by Toei seen in your video: a 1950 film by Shin Eiga-sha that is presumed lost, and a comedy spoof by Toho from 1972, which, despite never being released on home media, likely still exists.

7:45 I remember reading that the original Halloween had scenes that were cut for time/pacing added back in during TV airings so it would fill a specific amount of runtime, and that this wasn't an uncommon practice for a long time. I assume that's what happened here?
Yeah it's the same thing with Homeward Bound, that movie had several scenes that only existed on the TV version and that version was lost until I actually managed to track down a copy and send it to someone else to rip and upload onto Internet Archive, it's on there now so enjoy.
@@AllThingsLost it's especially bad when those TV-only scenes are critical to the plot, like in Happy Gilmore that asshole at the nursing home who is abusing Happy's grandmother never gets his comeuppance in the theatrical and home versions but in the TV version you get to see Happy tossing him out of a window, why that wasn't included anywhere else is beyond me. Waterworld has a ton of deleted scenes that were only in the TV version and were lost until the directors cut came out in 2007. Fast Times at Ridgemont High also had some important scenes that were only on the TV version for some reason. First Blood also had a bunch of scenes only on the TV version that didn't surface online until they popped up on UA-cam a few years ago.
I remember seeing a TV cut of the movie Spy Hard that had extended scenes that made the movie flow better. I never got the DVD, I never saw if these were included on there, and all I can remember is the TV cut showing an entire scene of Leslie Nielsen's character being cuffed to a bed, I think it had a bomb on it, careening down a busy street into traffic or something. I can't remember if scenes were deleted to make room for it or if some of the movie was seen as too risque for TV and those scenes replaced it. Also, I swear I saw a TV cut of Naked Gun 2 that had like a couple scenes added in place of other scenes.
The first “Super Hero” was “The Shadow” who first appeared in 1931 before Ogon Bat. It’s also arguable that Zorro was the first, Conan the Barbarian, or even Solomon Kane. Ogon Bat was Japans first Super Hero, but not THE first Super Hero.

Two episodes of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes have alternate audio where Spider-Man is voiced by Josh Keaton AKA the original voice actor for this show (and other shows and games) before he was overdubbed by Drake Bell. There's also speculation Daran Norris was overdubbed by JK Simmons. No one knows what happened to the original audio, but you can hear Keaton's voice at a small point during the first episode.
Awesome video man, but there's one fact you got wrong. The live action film reel of Captain America would technically be his second live action appearance. The very first live action appearance of Captain America was actually in a 1944 Republic Serial called Captain America, which is not only his first live action appearance, but is also the very first Marvel movie ever made.
You know the first live action Captain America you talked about wasn’t really the first back as in the 40s Republic pictures made bunch of Captain America serials. But instead of Steve Rogers there was district attorney Grant Gardner and he didn’t use a shield but instead he used a gun and then there is also two Captain America movies from the 1970s Called Captain America and Captain America 2: Death Too Soon
It wasn’t uncommon for TV airings of movies to have alternate, extra, or extended scenes. You see it a lot with 80s movies like Breakfast Club. I’m not sure why it is, but I’m pretty sure other UA-cam channels have analyzed it.
Oddly enough, now that you mentioned Golden Bat, there are more films and series based on the character that were either cancelled or lost in time, especially a lost live action movie.
I can say that I'm proud that thanks GOD I was able to recover some lost media. I recovered most of the lost Latin dub of Ninja Turtles 2003 animated show, and some of the lost Castilian dub too. The one that I'm more happy about is the latin, not only because it's the best by far, also because it was the hardest to find by far. I was able to find it because a guy had some TV captures from 2003 and he didn't know it was lost media, and a friend bought the captures for only $100 from Mexico
Fun fact: Since Hanna Barbera had the rights to the fantastic four to make her animated series, Marvel Superheroes had to use the X-Men as a replacement for the Fantastic Four, since they were adapting a story that featured the fantastic family, and Since the X-Men weren't as popular as the other Marvel characters at the time, they took advantage of the similarities between the teams and used them. You can tell that it was the Fantastic Four that they wanted to use, and in fact, they didn't even call them "X-Men," they called them "Allies for Peace." Conclusion: since the 60s marvel was already fighting with the rights of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men
The 1960 appearance of Captain America is not the first, though it might be the first TV appearance. His first live action appearance was the 1940s serial reels. I actually own the full VHS set of those reels, and they are a trip. The McGuffin of the series is called the Dynamic Vibrator. How the hell am I supposed to take that seriously???
And of course the Mexican dad beats his daughter. Lol. Seriously though. What were they thinking by depicting a heavy drinking Mexican father acting like that? It is too realistic. Lol. On another note. Golden Bat deserves a revival. And I will try my best to promote the idea.
I distinctly remember an end scene when I went to go see spiderman 3. It was the symbiote in a glass container in doc conners lab and it crawled away while he wasn’t looking. I remember thinking hey is this how they’re going to incorporate carnage?
There's was also the original Superman comic which was totally different than the one we have. He was a bald guy with telepathic ability or something. No known surviving copies exist anymore.
Are you talking about short story "The Reign of the Super-Men"? There are a few original copies in existence. It was also reprinted in Nemo, the Classic Comics Library #2 (I have a copy.) And it's available at the Internet Archive.
Remember Slapshot's actor Paul D'Amato that John Byrne used as an unofficial character model for Logan? Marvel missed a great opportunity to make a retro live-action Wolverine series with that underrated actor, alongside other Avengers like Bill Bixby's Hulk, Richard Hammond's Spider-Man, and Reb Brown's Captain America.
“It did not follow the Winter Soldier story line” you mean the 60’s show didn’t adapt a comic story that wouldn’t be written for several decades? I am shocked. Shocked I tell you.
Nice vid, but when you mentioned this about the winter soldier arc at 5:37, it couldn’t have happened at all, since that story wasn’t even a thing until 2005, funnily enough right along Jason Todd the same year, but yeah, just wanted to clear that point, so if Bucky appeared there, then it must’ve been the golden age version of the character
Golden bat has a ton of manga books focusing on him and his main nemesis, Nazou. Many of these mangas have survived the test of time, but are little known outside of Japan.
I'd call the original Snyder Cut of justice League to be lost media, in that what we got in the end is very likely not what we would have gotten had original production gone as planned.
The original ending with Hal Jordan Green Lantern is definitely lost footage (for now), but outside of the "Knightmare" ending, I'm not sure if anything else would've been added to make it "lost". It would've been just a shorter version of what we already got.
OK, I have to butt speak up here: the first Live Action Captain America was a 1940s serial, NOT the lost footage you mentioned here…and there is no way they could have had the Winter Soldier storyline, as that’s from around 2006
I think that Winter Soldier quip was a joke. And maybe he just considers the 40s Cap to not count because it's not at all comic accurate beyond the name and costume
the reason for the additional/extended scenes in the tv airing is likely to pad it out to fit a standard timeslot- it used to be fairly common practice, with one of the most notable examples being the original Halloween which made some significant retcons to set up for the sequel
The Captain America Live action skits is not the first live action appearance of Captain America. His first live action appearance was in the 1944 movie which is not lost.
PSAs built on superhero IPs are interesting, right? Like, you can't tell a child go to SPIDER-MAN for help since, like, Spider-Man doesn't exist. Superheroes are often created as vigilante alternatives to regular means of justice, a fantasy born out of the inefficiency or even corruption of those processes. But, when a company is trying to make money off their popular brands, they still need to USE the hero while creating a product that actually tells kids where to go for help. It ends up with this cognitive dissonance where Spider-Man is helping educate kids about abuse while not actually stopping it from happening.
Spider-Man letting the beatdown happen is actually in character considering the fact he let the exact thing happen to a kid at his school during his teenage years lmao.

Just another day of artists being exploit in 60s Marvel.
I didn’t know about Sam Raimi’s lost Spiderman scenes. Definitely interested especially when Sam Raimi normally releases everything that was filmed like he did for “Army of Darkness”
Sarcasm nice
There was a lot of things cut from Spider-Man 3, I remember watching a longer and more frightening version my first time, I then remember the ending being changed or something the second. We were robbed from having a better Venom and longer scenes like Sandman's wife and daughter having more screentime and the black suit being swung with more often.
I think that's the Producer's Cut
@@Meme_Lor if so then we need that released

Whats difference about PULSE?

I really would like to see the unreleased Raimi Spider-Man trilogy scenes.
Looks like a J Jonah Jameson was right he is a menace, like what kind of superhero would just watch a kid get abused.
ASM was originally 4 hours? Thank god that was cut down
@@JogVodka the things they cut definitely would’ve help the movie
@@megapower9620 No movie should be 4 hours long. I'm already struggling to watch 3 hour long movies, but 4 hours? hell nah
@@JogVodka just say you have the attention span of a 5 year old lol

TBH I don't really think the Spider-Man deleted scenes are lost. A lot of random deleted scenes have made their way online. They had the material to make a new cut of Spider-Man 3 a decade later. They are probably well preserved. Issue is Sony doesn't want to shell out the money needed to release the scenes, which is kinda understandable. I mean, 20+ year film that would need to be scanned in. It's the 20 year anniversary of the Raimi trilogy, they might release new cuts to ride on the hype.
If they still had an alternate shot of Sandman falling apart to use in No Way Home, then I don’t see how they couldn’t have the others scenes.

The Spider-Man PSA is interesting in that Spidey’s character model closely resembles his ‘67 and/or ‘81 cartoon version, but the design of the other characters make them look like they should be in a totally different show 😅 I wonder if the production company actually lifted artwork from existing cels for Spidey and just drew the other characters around him 🤔
Also worth noting re: Golden Bat, there are two lost or otherwise unavailable films aside from the ‘66 one by Toei seen in your video: a 1950 film by Shin Eiga-sha that is presumed lost, and a comedy spoof by Toho from 1972, which, despite never being released on home media, likely still exists.

Deleted scenes are the most interesting thing about movies to me, just trying to figure out how and why stuff changes during production is really fascinating in my opinion.
It really makes me wonder how many other movie had extended versions for tv, but no one recorded them.
Captain America had a film serial in the 40s.
Golden Bat already existed pre "moving picture era".
You could argue Greek legends like Hercules was the first superhero

Golden bat is definitely one of the first superheroes but he's not the first modern superhero there are plenty of characters who predate golden bat that fit into the superhero archetypes, most notably the various Penny dreadful incarnations of the folklore villain spring healed Jack who had everything from a secret lair and identity, catchphrases and gimmicks and gadgets that made him seem superpowered or straight up just having super powers

It is great but some plot points were not needed and were stupid. Overall it had a okay story, great action scenes and overall a pretty good film.

There's also a Turkish film Titled 3 Dev Adam(Three Mighty Men) which Teams Up Captain America, Mexican Wrestler El Santo, and Spiderman.

You can tell that it was the Fantastic Four that they wanted to use, and in fact, they didn't even call them "X-Men," they called them "Allies for Peace." Conclusion: since the 60s marvel was already fighting with the rights of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men
Actually, the first live action Captain America was from these 1944 movie serials.
It's still a shame those skits are lost though.
“And Simon Kinberg was brought in to rewrite the script.”
That’s never good.
Holy heck, thanks for giving me a shout out for my find! Much appreciated.
And of course the Mexican dad beats his daughter. Lol. Seriously though. What were they thinking by depicting a heavy drinking Mexican father acting like that? It is too realistic. Lol.

It's sad that we don't have any footage
In 1944 there was a live action Captain America serial that was the 1st live action america appearance
Thankfully, Brendan Fraser does have a good superhero role as Robotman in the Doom Patrol TV series.
Sad we may never get to see the original Superman comic since it was burned.

technically the first live action Captain America was in 1944 as a 15 chapter movie serial
5:25 so are we all forgetting about the 1940s Captain America Serials?
No, just me 😔
Remember Slapshot's actor Paul D'Amato that John Byrne used as an unofficial character model for Logan?
Marvel missed a great opportunity to make a retro live-action Wolverine series with that underrated actor, alongside other Avengers like Bill Bixby's Hulk, Richard Hammond's Spider-Man, and Reb Brown's Captain America.
“It did not follow the Winter Soldier story line” you mean the 60’s show didn’t adapt a comic story that wouldn’t be written for several decades? I am shocked. Shocked I tell you.
This is fascinating stuff. Thank you for the entertainment!
The C in "DC" indeed used to stand for comics (as in "Detective Comics"), but nowadays its name is actually DC Comics without it being an acronym:)
The first live action Captain America was Dick Purcell in 1944.
This video has quite the variety of superheroes
Nice vid, but when you mentioned this about the winter soldier arc at 5:37, it couldn’t have happened at all, since that story wasn’t even a thing until 2005, funnily enough right along Jason Todd the same year, but yeah, just wanted to clear that point, so if Bucky appeared there, then it must’ve been the golden age version of the character
yeah, Bucky pre-Winter Soldier could have been a thing for sure. Especially if it's really old stuff.
I'm a simple man. I see Tobey, I click...

The 1st Live Action Capt. America was Dick Purcell in a 1944 Movie Serial.
OK, I have to butt speak up here: the first Live Action Captain America was a 1940s serial, NOT the lost footage you mentioned here…and there is no way they could have had the Winter Soldier storyline, as that’s from around 2006
And the entire 1944 serial is on YT in several places.
I think that Winter Soldier quip was a joke. And maybe he just considers the 40s Cap to not count because it's not at all comic accurate beyond the name and costume

Finally someone who gets the genius Spiderman 3
the reason for the additional/extended scenes in the tv airing is likely to pad it out to fit a standard timeslot- it used to be fairly common practice, with one of the most notable examples being the original Halloween which made some significant retcons to set up for the sequel
You do know that there WAS a Captain America live-action movie serial in the 1940s?
God, the cover of spider man on the thumbnail, *it's scares me.*
