It's a cult classic and a bit campy, I honestly think it just sort of got lost. Alien, Mad Max, Apocalypse Now to name a few, although for 1979 Releases, this is the 4th best rated movie according to IMDB. So why it truly got forgotten I couldn't even begin to guess why.
This was genuinely one of the best video games I ever played. Like everything about this was great. The fight system, the arcade game in your club house. This was one of the best ever released and should be played once by anyone who's ever seen the movie. Absolute classic.
This is hands down my favourite PS2 game. When it was released I was blown away because of its addictive gameplay, story and lore (with all those colourful and charismatic gangs). And also I love the great way it adapted the movie.
I'll never forget playing the story with a friend in co-op and we got to the punk bar mission, we couldn't stop laughing that you can stop the band playing, grab their instruments and start beating them and the crowd with them, if you got overwhelmed by the crowd you could jump up on a pool table and start lobbing pool balls in every direction, that was mind blowing at the time.
Most that never grew up in that era will never understand. Some will. But even then. That era was pivotal. From ps1 to ps2 was a big jump. Also we had x box. But the first x box. C box came with some banger. Just that era of consoles changes the game for what it it now. I’m glad. That i was able to see the transition
@@BMPK I don't hear a lot of people talk about either of them. I mean, they are both cult classics, but none of them are like known by the mainstream. They both deserve wider recognition.
One thing i like about this game is after every mission, we get to listen to the radio hearing the current event. As well as the impact the gang is making in the city like how we are going-up the ranks of the city's gang hierarchy. An other events going on around the city with other gangs and what they are doing.
the irony of everybody saying "back when devs took risks" is that making a movie tie in was basically the opposite of a risk, regardless of the movie--The Warriors is a certainly an "out-there" movie to do, but consider this: you don't have to write too much of a story, since you're mostly just taking whats there, you don't have to make original assets, as you have the film to look at for how things should look, you have a (relatively) easy casting process as long as there are folks willing to come reprise their roles, and you pair all that with the hottest developer in the game at the time, coming hot off of San Andreas, and you kinda had a no brainer good game on your hands. the same points also stand with bad tie ins for like Shrek and parents will get their kids those games without knowing better, and those kids would unironically love them anyway. it only became a risk in the PS3 era when it became pretty common knowledge that movie tie ins were becoming lazy cash grabs.
As a kid I didn’t realize how innovative it was. Ofc GTA used the same idea with radio giving updates but I remember being glued to this game when I friends had it back then. The split screen co-op was all we needed but when the story was the icing on the cake & the gameplay was cherry on top. Circa 2006-2008 were plenty restless nights just playing through this story with different combinations with my friends & siblings. Masterpiece
@@quinnmarchese6313bro the events of the game take place before the movie in the movie cyrus dies right away but in the game it shows u how cyrus started the warriors n all that. But i understand what ur saying
Yeah man, i've said it for years now. We peaked at the end of the PS2 era which actually bleeds into the PS3 era by a few years. Once DLC became the norm, that was all she wrote.
Really is a shame Rockstar don't spread there wings like they did in the PS2 days and dive into different genres as they have proved they got the talent with games like Manhunt, Bully and The Warriors.
I know, man. Rockstar was doing such interesting games back then. While I love GTA and Red Dead Redemption. I would love to see them do more interesting experiments like they did in the PS2 era.
I could be wrong but in the book it's based on I thought the Rouges were under cover cops, its just something I heard I never read the OG book I always thought that's who he kept calling every scene he would be on the phone talking to somebody like their handler I could be totally off on that but it just kinda feels right in my gut hell shooting Cyrus and pinning it on the Warriors would make sense too if he was a cop
I was 18 when this came out and it reminds me of my senior year in HS. Coming home late stoned and playing it on my 17 inch flat tube tv. Nostalgia overload
They really went above and beyond with this game, it easily could've been a cheap movie tie in, but instead they flushed out the ENTIRE world around the movie in such an authentic and enjoyable way that made the experience feel like an enhanced version of the movie littered with extra behind the scenes moments we could never have gotten otherwise.
This is the exact reason I loved this game so much.. I loved the movie and this was a prequel you could play! It was literally the greatest thing to me back then
I used to play this game for HOURS. Gameplay was so fun. One thing I loved is the different ways you could CO-OP fight guys. Major nostalgia going on right now
@spaceboy.digital it's not Rockstar fault the parents don't care what their kids play. It's blame the consumer because the consumers are fucking idiots. Rockstar follows all of the rules placed before them there's nothing you could sue for. You might not love them but it's a consumer issue for paying for it. Companies are only concerned about making money and if the consumer is willing to pay for 10 years it's not their fault.
One of the greatest games of my childhood/ ever . All hands , no guns (except the last boss) just fighting , coop play (no games have coop anymore it’s terrible) and the fact that the camera splits when you seperate from your cooperative was something no game has ever done and was pure genius .
@@Wandasolosurfavs you not reading what I wrote correctly . When you would split from your partner it would split the camera but when u came together it would be full screen
I can't explain the joy i feel every time I see someone remembering this game. So glad you reviewed it, good job. This is so underrated, one of my favorite game of all time. Since the first time i played it, I fell in love with everything from the atmosphere, the artstyle, the combat, the gangs, the level design, the warriors hideout, the way they build and fleshed out so much from the movie. And i may be in the minority but i recently noticed that one of the paramedic in GTA 5 is voice by the actor who played Cleon (Dorsey Wright). I wasn't expecting it and it really caught me off guard.
@@poopsmcgee4693 I was 12 when it came out and i played it. At the time, i had no idea it was an adaptation from a 1979 movie. When i watched it a couple of years later, it made me appreciate the game even more.
Me too, funnily enough my core memories of this game are some of the worst bits of it gameplay wise, mainly me and a friend were playing through the game on coop and were fighting the big guy in the motel/hotel building(could be a regular home and I’m just misremembering) and he throws loads of household shit at you including a toilet I’m pretty sure, and I just remember dying repeatedly
Love this game. The combat is so simple you'd think it would get tiring. It really doesn't. I loved the levels where you played as the cowboy hat dude. The goal was to finish the level with your hat still in your possession.
I like how simple it was. Felt like a real fight and not mortal combat or just way to over the top. Even the “special” moves had an element of “realism”.
I remember being 5-6 living in my aunt’s tiny apartment, playing this game with my brother and a bunch of local kids. We struggled for sooo long on that Top Hat cart mission, until my friend beat it with about 7 of us kids cheering him on. Great memories, would be nice to see this get remade.
I was in kindergarten through third grade playing this game with my brothers. It took over my life! There was a period where I wasn't allowed to use the memory card so I would have to start a new game every time lol. That cart section was so hard for me being that young I would get my mom to help press the buttons when I got to it. Good times
I watched the original movie growing up in the 80’s. This game was spot on and blew me away when it dropped. Couldn’t believe how accurate and amazing it was. UNDERRATED!
Games take longer to make now, more money, the market is more saturated and all markets have shifted towards subscription models more than anything else. It’s not a rockstar issue times just change. No use shouting at the clouds
@@BirdGang6 the point still stands, they made one game in a span of 10 years and still milk GTA Online--they even had an opportunity to make RDO have the same support and content but gave up on it completely.
The game that made the movie look better than it actually was, that took inspiration from the original novel and made everything better taking some liberties. Amazing. I love this to my core since i was i kid. It gots everything a good beat em up game needs
Seriously man thank you for reviewing this game and putting a spotlight on it. I'm 25 and my older brother and I have been playing this game co-op since it came out. It actually introduced me to the movie, which has become one of my top 5 favorites of all time. This is my comfort game and it's one that I learn more about everyone time we play through it.
Same bro my older brother and I played this all the time and randomly though out the years. I think we last played it, last summer when I visited his house. Great times! Great game
@@PhilMconkey we did the co-op in all the missions and the one where it’s fox’s backstory and your following the huns leader and have to keep in the shadows I’d always fling him out and fuck the mission up 😂 only cause I’ve completed it like 20 times hahaha
This game influenced me so much as a kid, I remember being in 5th grade starting a gang at school where we had our own hangout by the sand pits and then another kid at school who is still my friend to this day started a gang called purple dragons, a long story short we had a turf war and regardless of how young we all were we came home with bruises that day. We got in so much trouble, parents ended up getting involved and their was a long lecture about gangs and violence at the school parade thanks to this incident. I remember my mum snapping this warriors game disc right in front of me, I was so sad and tried for months to see if the disc would still read haha PS: I grew up in a nice and safe town in Australia where gangs and violence were definitely not a problem.
That opening, the music. Goosebumps...Truly loved this game, played it for hours on end. A true classic, the Warriors and Scarface were and still are classics and will never be forgotten! Wish Rockstar still made games like this, instead of GTA. The fans want games like this! Great video 🙂
I believe this is still to date the best game to ever be made after a movie. Every single aspect from the lore, gameplay, story, environment, ambiance, soundtrack, etc., was executed perfectly in tune with the source. A lot of people criticized the wonky combat in big crowds, but I actually think that's one of the coolest aspects of the game. It's not supposed to be a slick martial arts story with a one-man-army, it's supposed to depict the oppressive chaos of fighting in big numbers while just throwing wild punches like crazy and trying to survive. The characters don't control like typical fighting games where you feel light like a feather, move quick and hit hard. Instead, all the characters and NPC's feel like they have realistic weight and physics on them. Crashing against other thugs makes them awkwardly tumble and fall over and viceversa. If you get knocked down to the ground it takes a while for your character to recover from his stunned state. You can drag each other around while you struggle to break free. If your soldiers fall and you're the last one standing you quickly get overwhelmed by numbers, thrown to the ground and kicked to death with no chance to stand up. Running away is not easy and you will quickly get tackled down and surrounded if you miss a single step. It's all part of the experience and I love it. Truly a love letter in the form of a game.
As a punk fan, I was disappointed that Fear's "I love living in the city" didn't return in the ps4 version. Money and copyrights, money and copyrights...
The movie and game have a special place in my heart. As a kid I remember going to a swap meet my parents knew I loved gaming so they bought me a new copy. playing this game made me appreciate developers and how they could make a story in a graphical manner, i had watched the movie before playing the game so seeing it in game form was great and even playing it now I get that same feeling when I was a boy.
This game was my GTA growing up. Everyone had San Andreas, GTA 3, while I had The Warriors. I poured thousands of hours into this game with my brother and had endless fun replaying the missions
Another interesting bit about the book: it's based on the Anabasis, a Greek epic about a division of solders hired by Cyrus to claim the Persian throne. His death rendered the expedition moot-the story is about the division getting back to Greece. This is why the gang leader is named Cyrus and the plot is kicked by his death.
I played this game in like 2005/2006 with my sister in its entirety, my dad even let us have a day off school because I think he enjoyed us bonding over a game of a film he loved. Was easily one of the best gaming experiences of my life Side note sangre por sangre brother, Blood in blood out is a great film and I defo recommend anyone to watch it, it does have a few messed up scenes and themes. Is also 3 hours long so is an investment
Two of my favorite movies of all time. They still ever release blood in blood out on blue ray? Seems hard to find even on streaming services last I checked
I remember before this game came out and seeing demos of it on Spike TV. It made me go rewatch the movie a few times before getting my hands on the game, I remember my first playthrough and being so drawn into all the extra lore I got from the game. I miss this rockstar
18 years later and I'm still mad that they only allow us to play as Snow once in the whole story mode, you can even beat his level without hitting anyone, he's 1 of the strongest characters in the entire game, come on, Rockstar.
I replayed his level more than anyone else for that exact reason. You can just hang around and not get on the elevator and beat up mimes forever. Every character has their unique special moves and his were cool and brutal but so wasted.
@@AlexG1020 yeah, he has the most brutal Special Moves overall in the game, followed by Cleon, then Ajax and Vermin's rage SM, even his regular standing Special Moves seems really painful
hey man just a tip or something u should know snow is the main person the “second player” or controller uses throughout the whole story after cleons death
Love it. I get why you didn’t go through the “origin” missions, but damn, finding the biggest bopper hat has got to be one of my favourites in the entire game
Not across NYC. THROUGH NYC. The meeting takes place at Dyre Ave in the Bronx. One of the points most north in the 5 boroughs. Coney Island is in south Brooklyn. One of the furthest south points of the city short of Staten Island
I find myself coming back to this video for my background noise. There's something so nostalgic and comforting about this games sound design. I only wish you could have included more in game tracks. But every time a new character gets introduced, that "BWUAAHH" sound is just perfection to my ears
You mentioned early on in the review about not being able to do damage to your fellow Warriors, and it reminded me of a funny experience I had with the game. I was on the late game mission where the Punks follow you into the bathroom. I wanted 100% completion which involves getting the high score, so I needed 2000 points before I could exit the level. I'm about 500 short, all the enemies are dead, and I've broken every destrucible prop in the room. It occured to me that environmental head smashes are worth a good chunk of points. So with no other options I targeted Cowboy, grappled him over to the mirrors, and threw him into the wall a couple times. Easy points!
Bro, this video better go viral. It 's too good to not ride the algo in the "oldschool videogame video essay" crowd. This game was so fun playing with my friend and brother in coop.
This game was great. I remember playing on the arcade machine in your hideout, fighting with all the different characters to see the different attacks everyone had. Fun times. Might have to buy it again for another playthrough.
I recently watched Streets of Fire, and I am convinced that, that movie and the warriors are the main inspiration for the entire Beat em up genre that dominated the late 80's to early 90's arcades. The night time metroplean areas, the punk look and and neon backdrops. The small group of people vs an onslaught of gang memebers etc. etc. Both Streets of Fire and The Warriors are directed by Walter Hill who also directed the classic 80's buddy cop movies 48 hrs and Red heat.
The Warriors was an absolute gem and I was so lucky that my friend had this game for the Xbox so I learned about it, I got the PS2 version for myself and needless to say that epic co-op sessions were had every time we got together with anyone on our friends group. It was a wonder that none of our neighbors called the cops on us when we were yelling in the apartment things like "the drug dealer stabbed me, kill him and get the money before he escapes!!!"
I still have my ps2 copy of the game I got on xmas day and I still love it to this day this was a great trip down memory lane the noises and quotes burned into my mind
One of my favorite movies and games of all time, that starting music with the ferris wheel is stuck in my head, I've been replaying it on the ps2 emulator for PC where you can remove the ps2 pixelation and upscale it to 2k or 4k resolution and download an HD texture overhaul that you can install into the emulator, closest thing we can get to a remaster
I find it enjoyable on the ps4, but using emulators is much more "warriors" ...and I assume the original licensed music is retained in the emulated version? The absence of the songs was the biggest disappointment of the ps4 version 😢
I remember hearing Rockstar was gonna make my Dads fave movie into a game. The Warriors, became my fave PS2 game and still one my favourite movies ever.
The game is like playing the movie with a bunch of deleted scenes and extra bonus content you could never access otherwise, definitely worth looking into if you really loved the movie (will never serve as a replacement for the movie though it is an absolute masterpiece like you said)
I loved the movie and have seen it upwards of 10 times. Did find out about the game until 2 years ago and have beaten it 3 times since. I absolutely love it
I loved how the game covered the time period leading up to the fall of Cyrus. Each level told a little bit of how each character became The Warriors. I absolutely loved how the final level of the game covered the entire movie, culminating in the final showdown to end the game. I loved how during the game credits you could trash The Rogues out on the beach for a minute or two. There were a few landmark games for the PS2. Manhunt was fantastic. The Thing was the official sequel to the John Carpenter's movie, and it was fantastic. The Thing would be a great game to modernize. The game play was awesome.
YOOOO. I adored this game growing up and recently started playing it again. First booting it up I just sat on the menu screen for a few minutes, reminiscing. I have yet to actually start this video but I am already so pumped. Thank you for taking a look at this old gem.
God i remember playing this game for hours. This right here shows just how great the PS2 and it's lineup was. Shame that this game isn't remastered or for the XB1/XS
Aw man, this brings back so many memories! I played this in co-op with my sister for years and it was always a blast! It felt like if Streets of Rage went 3D and WORKED!
not only is the arcade machine double dragon inspired but so is a boss fight. if you play the 1st double dragon arcade. the 2nd level looks like ur fighting warriors in a park, then u face two bigger guys who bust thru a wall, which was clearly referenced in the hurricanes mission.
Bro, I played this game with my neighbor! We spent hours passing the controller when we died. We couldn't believe how great this game is and no one ever talked about it. Thanks for this video fr.
This is one of those handful of games after finishing that gave me that "feeling* when you know you've experienced something special and what do you do with life now as that menu music pulsates. I enjoyed it so much I spent my money to grab the film. I sadly didn't enjoy it all that much on first viewing. The game just fleshed out the characters so we'll it didn't hit right starting from the run home. A more mature me watched it a few years later with a better appreciation for film and loved it. Enough to listen to the director comments when I learnt about Fox getting killed off (can't believe you didn't mention this omg do your job /s) I think you, and self admitted the lack of buffing your characters hurt your overall experience as It really makes a difference but wow, I don't recall that many throwing objects fights. It got boring just in the video seeing that many. This is one of those games I'd give my favourite nutsack to get remade. Turf control mechanics, an explorable world that feels less empty and more rewarding to explore. I spent hours just bopping around Coney wishing I could just run and bop some fools in another terf with no strings. We can dream anyway as this game feels getting made initially was some stars aligning. Back when Rockstar actually made more than 1 game and had creativity.
One of my absolute favourite games growing up, played it like 100 times ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥Rockstar used to be a special company it's a shame they don't really make unique games like this anymore.
You should check out the video game (I own it for PS2) Reservoir Dogs. Another pretty good movie-to-game “adaptation”. The game fills in the gaps/ not seen parts from the movie allowing the player to navigate situations as the different characters. I’ve seen three different endings based on the players moral behavior. Good channel, well narrated. I’m now a subscriber.
I absolutely loved this game as a kid. I had no idea what it was, I just really liked the cover art. But boy oh boy did I find a gem. Probably my all time favorite brawling game, the fights as SO fun, throwing dudes around, grabbing whatever you can find. I think a _strong_ case can be made for the Warriors being the best game ever made that was based on a film. And I say that for many reason, but the biggest one is that when you watch the film, your left wanting more, to know more, see more, experience more. And thats exactly what the game does, telling a much _longer_ story than the film, which is not how it usually goes in movie games. And on top of that, it just gives you a great way to hangout in that world, with those characters, and soak in the atmosphere. This was one of the games that really made me love R* back in the day, they made so many great games that were different back then.
I play this the first time on PS3 and the soundtrack was pretty good, a gem, a example of a good license game well done. I play this again on PS4 and some music is gone, I can't hear Vivian Bee "Remember" again because some license issue, what a bunch of wimps.
I cannot thank you enough for doing this video about this gem called " The Warriors " I cannot fathom nor express my love towards this game as it is one of the promising and a convincing game as it is based from a movie. The movie "The Warriors" had a special place to my heart as it depicts how gangs run the streets before and the way how rockstar made it into a game and became underrated. The game needs more attention by the developers and hope that they make a remastered version of it. The tone, the style, the soundtrack, and THE GAME MENU.... I had nothing but good time and nostalgia while playing this game. Great work and great video!
In 2005 I was 13 and I went to visit my brother at his party house in College Station, TX. I stayed for the weekend, and while everyone was having a great time around me, I sat on his couch and played this game. I beat it. In 2 days. I don’t regret a thing.
Man I played this game one time to completion when I was 11 and staying over friends house who had it, we were able to play at co-op it was my first real introduction to the Warriors though I remember the game informer that had a released that made a special about the game but that was back when I just looked at the pictures rather than read the whole thing. Man I love this game. I really do wish there was a remake a remaster it was so hard hitting, and the build up of the Warriors taking out the whole Destroyers gang is one of the best moments I’ve ever seen in any kind of media
I cannot tell you how much fun I had doing the campaign with my cousin. It was one of the best couch co-op experiences I've ever had. Rockstar is top tier.
I rented this game as a kid when it came out and I immediately was hooked. I kept the manual from that copy and I bought a warriors poster that same year. That poster has never been taken down, it’s still up in my childhood bedroom at my parents house. It was my first step into “maturity” and I’ll never forget it
A child-hood friend of mine, and me, were obsessed with this game. Played it on Coop. His favorite guy was ajax, I liked Vermin, Cleon, or Cowboy. Was some great fun back then. I stayed at his grandmas house every weekend playing the warriors in game and in real life lol we were really obsessed!

Fun fact. i watched this movie over 100 tomes. It was my first VHS tape. :) Finished this game on the PS2 and again on the PSP. Was definitely a labor of love. The last sequence (re-enacting the movie) was fantastic. Calling it a gem is RIGHT.
That intro did give me legit chills. I legit loved this game and couldn't wait to play it when I realised they made one. The game was simple to play but followed the story and was just fun. You can see how rockstar used this game to inspire some of the GTA games. I wish they would remake or rerelease this for modern day consoles so I could play it again.
One of my favorite combat systems in a beat em up ever. The memories I have of playing through this game together woth my brother after we first watched the movie will stay with me forever. So many laughs and just a fun time. The run and body slam was so fun to hit people with, grabbing and throwing was satisfying and he and I would often just attack each other in the game for fun. It could get tedious, one level late in the game had you spray paint multiple trains at a train yard and that level just went on and on. The chase sequence from the High Hats was fucking hilarious with how quickly you could die and the amount of restarts and laughs we had was something I wish I could relive. Not really a big Rockstar fan but this game will forever be one of my favorite co op games and I'm just really happy this got made. Also that soundtrack was great, like he said in the intro, some of the music could evoke some creepy horror vibes which fit the often dark tones of the game and movie. Go listen to the main theme from the movie too, the song is really good and played at some really hype moments in the game. Thanks for bringing more attention to this absolute classic.
Multiplayer mode was chaos, there was a king of the hill mode where you had to climb a bunch of crates and throw everyone else off, sometimes you would see someone climbing over and do that running sideways jump at them and you both go flying off, man great times.
“Their march to the Battle of Cunaxa and back to Greece (401-399 BC) was recorded by Xenophon, one of their leaders, in his work Anabasis.“ I find it fascinating that the Warriors movie was based off this Greek dude
I really wish Netflix, Amazon or another better competent TV produciton company would pick this up for a long term, multi season show. The amount of lore there is and could be is massive. They could explore more of the gangs we only see very briefly in the movie and even incorporate Ajax's incareration in a season as well. It'd print money for whoever picked it up.
Just so you know, if you do the climb animation while RIGHT NEXT to the fence, you’ll do the slower animation, but if you press triangle will a bit away from the fence you will always hop it fast. Don’t know if anyone said that already.

the irony of everybody saying "back when devs took risks" is that making a movie tie in was basically the opposite of a risk, regardless of the movie--The Warriors is a certainly an "out-there" movie to do, but consider this: you don't have to write too much of a story, since you're mostly just taking whats there, you don't have to make original assets, as you have the film to look at for how things should look, you have a (relatively) easy casting process as long as there are folks willing to come reprise their roles, and you pair all that with the hottest developer in the game at the time, coming hot off of San Andreas, and you kinda had a no brainer good game on your hands. the same points also stand with bad tie ins for like Shrek and parents will get their kids those games without knowing better, and those kids would unironically love them anyway. it only became a risk in the PS3 era when it became pretty common knowledge that movie tie ins were becoming lazy cash grabs.

It was literally the greatest thing to me back then
The developers took this game seriously. The movie, the story before the movie, and the game play.
I used to play this game for HOURS. Gameplay was so fun. One thing I loved is the different ways you could CO-OP fight guys.
Major nostalgia going on right now

Literally why the hell wouldn’t they milk it, people keep paying for it. And it’s not like they aren’t making a new game lol
@spaceboy.digital it's not Rockstar fault the parents don't care what their kids play. It's blame the consumer because the consumers are fucking idiots.

Not to be that guy but his name is actually Cowboy🤣🤙🏼
I like how simple it was. Felt like a real fight and not mortal combat or just way to over the top. Even the “special” moves had an element of “realism”.
I remember being 5-6 living in my aunt’s tiny apartment, playing this game with my brother and a bunch of local kids. We struggled for sooo long on that Top Hat cart mission, until my friend beat it with about 7 of us kids cheering him on. Great memories, would be nice to see this get remade.

@doogieFiveFour trying to take everyone on in the Hangout was always a highlight for me - got my head kicked in repeatedly lol

I enjoyed it so much I spent my money to grab the film. I sadly didn't enjoy it all that much on first viewing. The game just fleshed out the characters so we'll it didn't hit right starting from the run home. A more mature me watched it a few years later with a better appreciation for film and loved it.
Really loved the era of PS2 movie tie-ins.. that kind of variety and creativity is a level of risk we'll _never_ see the industry take again

@@lolmortuary6658 still a lackluster has been company now reliant on predatory micro transactions. They could have done something with RDR:O, but they let it die and now they won't release GTA 6 because they're afraid to pull the plug on their current cash cow.
Maybe Bully 2 or another actually interesting ip will revive them
Fun fact. i watched this movie over 100 tomes. It was my first VHS tape. :)
Finished this game on the PS2 and again on the PSP. Was definitely a labor of love. The last sequence (re-enacting the movie) was fantastic. Calling it a gem is RIGHT.
Yes!!! That new fuzzyslippers to get me through the last hour of work
That intro did give me legit chills.
“Their march to the Battle of Cunaxa and back to Greece (401-399 BC) was recorded by Xenophon, one of their leaders, in his work Anabasis.“
I find it fascinating that the Warriors movie was based off this Greek dude
I really wish Netflix, Amazon or another better competent TV produciton company would pick this up for a long term, multi season show. The amount of lore there is and could be is massive. They could explore more of the gangs we only see very briefly in the movie and even incorporate Ajax's incareration in a season as well. It'd print money for whoever picked it up.
Nothing like our current corporate greed ruining another classic.
Just so you know, if you do the climb animation while RIGHT NEXT to the fence, you’ll do the slower animation, but if you press triangle will a bit away from the fence you will always hop it fast. Don’t know if anyone said that already.
I will always stand by the fact that this game explored the movie better than the movie itself
Background character arc mission. So much thought into this game I’m so surprised it wasn’t HUGE at the time I actually bought it in 2005 must have been about 9/10😂😂
@@steph6498 I played the game before watching the movie and was honestly shocked as how in depth RockStar made these characters
@@TheMDXtremeReal I know. I there were a few warriors fans in development team I’d say considering the amount of effort put into a game which pretty much didn’t get any publicity, I mean I seen it in a blockbuster at the time 😂
John wick 4 doing a homage to this classic film was awesome
Back when rockstar understood what they were doing and had a clear idea of who their audience were.
They released two of the greatest games EVER in the last decade, with the biggest one yet to come (gta 6)..... what is bro yapping about😹😹🤡
Blud picking THE WARRIORS over GTA V, GTA VI & Red Dead Redemption 2 🤢 u gotta be 47 years old. pack him up.
One of my all time favorites from Rockstar and one of my favorite games in general…
First half of the video I was getting frustrated watching you not sprint lol
that game brings me back. jacking car radios was fun.
Used to play this as a kid, never realised it was a rockstar game
Also i dont know if you have heard of it, but there is also another rockstar game i remember from ps2 days that you should take a look at: State of Emergency
@@smpk9667 Hell no that game was so 💩. Lol come on man.
@@coolbreeze3793state of emergency was trash?? Man idk how old you are but I’m 24.. I forgot that game existed until just know I have fond memories of it
Glad I found your channel dude! Keep up the good work. One of my new favourite channels
