I recently had a test ride on the 8S while my 1000S was in for a service. I found it to be a great bike! Really easy to ride and with a good quality feel to it. I’ve been riding on the road for over 30 years and have ridden many different bikes, in my opinion the 8S is the best real world bike I’ve ridden. Well done Suzuki!

Nice choice, glad you’re enjoying it. As soon as I felt the low-down torque I was pretty tempted myself. I think I will wait to see if Suzuki make a more road-going V-Strom and see how that feels. Cheers

Looks like you're getting rattled around a bit on rough tarmac, any thoughts on the suspension? I had a sv650 and couldn't get the suspension right, I'd be worried that the suspension is as bad as the SV from a commuting comfort perspective.
Yeh the suspension was a tad on the firm side and non adjustable. I guess it deletes on preference and weight of the rider but for me I wish there was some adjustment to add a little more compliance.
Hi, well I only took the 8s for a test ride for around an hour but I owned the cb650r. I found the 650r to not have quite enough room with the seat being quite low and the pegs quite high. There may not be much in it but I would say the 8s felt more roomy for me. The other big plus points on the 8s would be the lovely clear dash and the engine’s punchy low down torque. Cheers
As a taller rider 6'2", am I gonna make this motorcycle look like a honda grom lol. Not trying to hide my vanity here. Did you feel you looked big on it?
Hey, we are about the same height and although I didn't get any reference as to how I looked on it, i'm sure it looked a little small but to ride, it felt good. I think I make most bikes look small, apart from the big adventure bikes so I'd say go with what feels good to you.

How do you compare the GSX8S to your MT-09 in terms of comfort?
