Flyover Oxbow, Oregon - Hells Canyon Snake River Nov 2019

As the Snake River goes into more narrow canyon walls forming Hells Canyon, it take a pronounced bend where the Oxbow dam and hydroelectric plant were implemented in the 1950s. This feature shows the river and the dam, and the road along the bank, owned by the power company but open to the public. An excavator is seen doing work where early this spring heavy rains washed away part of the hillside and closed the road.
