J.G. Thirwell has an ability to find and combine sounds that were never meant to be heard together. His ability to orchestrate music is like some kind of modern day Bach.
I love Foetus. His frankly astonishing music has been part of my life since I bought, simply because the name appealed, 'Custom Built For Capitalism' back in oh, 1982/3 time. And there's been no turning back. My greatest Foetus find? His debut single, OKFM / Spite Your Face, in a charity shop, for 25 pence. He had a lapse @ the start of the 90's, but his recent stuff is top notch. Long may he remain!
This man haunts me since the mid 80s....Still obsessed by this music. saw him 1996 at Überschall Fest and several times in hannover and Bielefeld....damn...Jim, where are u now?
This is my favourite music video from Foetus because Thirlwell looks like a twink version of Peggy Hill And I mean this in the most affectionate way possible lmfao
Everytime I wonder why he's not as big as anygiven super star....then I remember he operates under monikers like Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel.....lol God bless this crazy bastard!
'you're older than you've ever been and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older... TIME! is marching on.. and TIME........ ...is still marching oooonnn!' i like music about time. :)
i would recommend nail, it's probably his best album (definitely my personal favorite) after that, probably hole, and love, and ache if you're feeling adventurous
Lyrics: Time marches on Blink then it's gone Make no mistake It's vanishing The clocks are overwound The bells don't make a sound They used to toll for me I guess my time is now You get up and sleep And go to the bar But how long have I been Going on and on and on It's too late now No turning back Atomic clock The skies turn black No daylight savings, now Regret the time you slept It's one third of your life And precious minutes left You get up and sleep And go to the bar But how long have I been Going on and on and on Time marches on Blink then it's gone Make no mistake To Babylon No daylight savings, now Regret the time you slept It's one third of your life And precious minutes left It's closing time About to crash But how long have I been Going on and on and on And on and on and on And on and on and on And on and on and on and on and on ;)
@violentinthedark23 He's not using those two notes for noise, he uses it to begin the beat of the song. I've never heard anyone orchestrate like he does. This song is brilliantly assembled.
Back in the 80s one day at S.E.T.I. there was great celebrating & much popping of corks until someone realised that they were just picking up Radio Foetus. JUST ..?????
Its ironic that he is doing animated videos now considering he does the theme for VENTURE BROS on adult swim he also is a good producer and remixer for other artists
What I like about Thirlwell is he just makes the music he wants. All of it is fascinating All of it is ugly in some way. I just wonder how he affords to do it.
i dont understand why people think NIN when refering to industrial, when we all know reznor borrowed his style of singing from Thirlwel and Watts of PIG....NIN is crap industrial

16 years already.
the irony of watching this song five time in a row.
Is?
All those precious minutes.
Best Foetus video I can remember. J.G. just gets better with age.

Total unknown precious treasure of a song

Cashing those sweet Venture Bros paychecks, hopefully.

This song kept me sane.
+Octavio Bannach =)
I am remarkably glad to hear that, he's been the soundtrack to much of my life by this point, his music withstands so much repeat listening.

Havent heard him until I looked him up for Venture Brothers, which is an amazing theme song.
Dudes versatile, great stuff
Everytime I wonder why he's not as big as anygiven super star....then I remember he operates under monikers like Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel.....lol God bless this crazy bastard!
Well said xeti. I cannot believe how long this guy has been kicking ass and still doing it as such a high level. Jim/Clint/Foetus is amazing.

"the rodney dangerfield of industrial"
'Love' is my favorite Foetus album. ^_^ How I love Mr. Thirlwell's work.
I'm torn between, "Nail" and, "Hole"... ;)
It's time for J.G. Thirwell & Mike Patton to put their beautiful minds together. }8-]
I know this comment is 7 years old but I'd reverse my sterilization just to have a first born kid to sacrifice in order to make this happen.
@@STB_666 I'd sire the little bugger.
@@eldoabrahamson I'll take fertility pills so we can go for sacrificial triplets to get Devin Townsend added to the mix.

Lyrics:
Time marches on
Blink then it's gone
Make no mistake
It's vanishing
The clocks are overwound
The bells don't make a sound
They used to toll for me
I guess my time is now
You get up and sleep
And go to the bar
But how long have I been
Going on and on and on
It's too late now
No turning back
Atomic clock
The skies turn black
No daylight savings, now
Regret the time you slept
It's one third of your life
And precious minutes left
You get up and sleep
And go to the bar
But how long have I been
Going on and on and on
Time marches on
Blink then it's gone
Make no mistake
To Babylon
No daylight savings, now
Regret the time you slept
It's one third of your life
And precious minutes left
It's closing time
About to crash
But how long have I been
Going on and on and on
And on and on and on
And on and on and on
And on and on and on and on and on
;)
Нам вечность протянет руку,
Нас будущее поймет -
Стрелки бегут по кругу,
Время - идет вперед!!!
